VERYGOODFOOD! Cozy environment, friendly staff. It’s a regular dinner spot for my husband and I. We even had our wedding there!

I took my family friends here last night. The food was amazing, everyone thanked me for choosing a great restaurant. We had the sirloin souvlaki(amazing), the pork chops and also a lamb burger. Every dish was perfect, cooked exactly as desired. The restaurant seems a little understaffed and we had to wait for service. Other than that, all good things to say. Great atmosphere, by the water and also a great date/party location. Live music Friday nights(which I also enjoyed from past visits). The food has definitely improved since my visit last year. The interior is very lit up with romantic lighting and I was happy to spend time with my family here.

Stopped in today for a quick brunch. I had the mushroom Benny and it was served with peameal bacon. Eggs were cooked perfect and hollandaise was on point. Coffee and service were also good. Friends had the lamb hash and j assumed it’d be heavy but looked fresh and satisfying. Would definitely try this place again!

Went here for dinner while visiting Vancouver. Looking for something on the water within walking distance and this seemed to have better reviews than Mahoney and Sons next door. We went early so it wasn’t crowded. We didn’t sit outside as it turned out because there were no shaded tables left. But the inside was nice. They seem to get some regulars at the bar. We had the beet salad, the spinach and kale salad, the grilled salmon and the blackened tuna(I think it was tuna, I can’t recall exactly). The blackened was very much so! Their website seems to make the restaurant seem much more sophisticated than it is. They have live music, although the place is kind of small, I’m not sure where they would play! A number of people came to the door, looked at the menu and left. Turned off by the prices maybe? But overall would say it’s worth a visit.

My 3rd or 4th time at this place. Don´t remember. I came back to this place because the first time I liked the hamburger, it was so yummy! I ordered the one with cheese and mushrooms and was delicious too. Other dishes I´ve had or other friends have ordered are: calamari, soup, spanakopita, salmon or chicken souvlacki. Nothing special. I will come back for the music on Friday nights. And please, do not order sangria unless they have changed the recipe. It is a rip off $ 30 for that! See you soon!

Need vitamin D?! Try their whammy mushroom potage. And their patio with a beautiful view of the seawall. Reservation recommended especially during the week-end. If I’m going it’s always on a Monday or Tuesday nite. Before 8pm cuz I don’t particularly like live music… Other than the soup the chicken souvlaki are WHAMMY! Ya know it’s more closer to me than Stephos… So sometimes I pick this place for a party of two, cuz it’s so romantic ;)…

Breakfast is best deal in Vancouver! $ 10 gets eggs, bacon, toast, spuds and coffee. All organic and well done. Have had lunch several times and food is five stars.

Came to leave a review about this place and was surprised by some of the harsh comments from a couple of years ago. They must have changed chef/management since then because on the three occasions I visited in 2014, everything was excellent. First off, this place has a gorgeous view of False Creek and the marina right outside. The patio is glorious in summer, although small. The interior is also nicely done, and cosy in the winter. The food is delicious, although I did notice that it seemed to have gone up a couple dollars on my last visit in December. The trio of dips starter is really tasty, although again — it seemed smaller and pricier the last time I visited. The chicken souvlaki is delicious and presented perfectly. The drinks here are reasonably priced for the area, but they could use more of a selection in terms of beers and cocktails. I’d definitely recommend this place for a romantic/special occasion meal, or as a place to show off the city to visiting guests.

Location: Excellent Service: Poor The server did not know the menu. Could not describe the menu items accurately. Example: when server brought out the prawns and chorizo, there was no corizo in the dish, «Oh, is there supposed to be chorizo?» Or when we asked if the prawns uvetsi were done in a tomato-based sauce the answer was«I think so.» and we ended up getting prawns drowning in a butter sauce. The worst was when we ordered lamb kleftiko and then the server came back 5 min later to tell us that there was no more kleftiko left; she shoukd have known this. Food: Poor The first appy we ordered was kalamari. It came out raw and soggy. We sent it back and it came back overdone and salty. Did not eat that dish. Lamb Kleftiko: Server came back after 5 min to tell us there was no kleftiko left. Seared Tuna: Came out cold: they sear the tuna then put it in the refrigerator. When time to serve, they slice it and send it out stone cold. Although the quality of the tuna was good. Ate that dish but disappointed. Prawns and Chorizo: good dish. Well prepared. Ordered a second one that came with no chorizo. Sent dish back, did not eat. Angus Steak: large 8oz cut, well prepared and tender. Chicken Souvlaki: large cubes of chicken, well-prepared and moist. Overall, a poor experience at Branas and the food was mediocre lacking any inspiration. Will not revisit or recommend to anyone.

Our second visit, this time with another couple. A wonderful relaxed evening. The kitchen does a wonderful job of preparing and presenting the plates. We felt ‘hosted’ rather than ‘served’. This is a unpretentious place to relax and enjoy the company and the evening. Foodies — defer judgements and need to improve — this is a place to measure the enjoyment of the experience by the company you keep

Quaint, quiet, and right on the seawall. I stopped by on a bike ride and enjoyed an awesome burger. The fries were seasoned in a way that I’ve never tried before, which was a pleasant surprise. The service a little slow, but maybe I was just super hungry.

Good lord, why does this place exist? Aside from the stunning view, there is no other redeeming quality here. We were invited here by some folks that live near by. It was a gorgeous sunny day, perfect day for a waterside meal, you’d think. Branas is a a lot smaller inside than it looks from out side. We had a reservation to be seated outside but were seated inside, strike one. We did not complain and ordered our wine. The wine was on ice but warm, strike two. One server tried to serve the wine while another tried to take our order and they talked over each other, the oddest ordering situation ever! Strike three and oh much more to come. Our appys came out pretty quickly, pretty close together. The feta dip was way too salty and the tzaziki was gloppy like they added starch to it. While we were finishing them, one server came over saying sorry, no beet salad which two out of four of us ordered as mains. She gave us the menus again and as I was looking at it, came by again to say, ok one of you can have it. WTF? To go from bad to worse, the mystery beet salad came out literally 2 minutes after that, before taking the appy plates away and good twenty minutes before the rest of us were served! The burger was terrible with gummy blue cheese and the«salmon burger» was white. They said it was white salmon and showed us uncooked ones to «prove» that it was actually salmon. I have never seen this and there are beautiful bright red sockeyes and cohos available right now. This is the worst meal I have had in a loooong time. They let us sit and chat for about half an hour before we asked for the bill. And then guess what they asked, «no dessert?» For real? I guess it’s true what they say, the better the view the worse the food, and now I know everything else also. Branas is truly epic in its awfulness.

Whistler Ales on Tap with Nice Tables and Great Views at Dusk. The menu has been refined but the good news is its still mostly fresh food made to order. I would pass on the 3 dip plate and just order the Hummus. The entrées we ordered where nice meals with nice sides of fresh veggies. Overall a Nice Place to enjoy a dinner out.

My brother gave Branas high praise, so i decided to try them out myself. They did not disappoint. My friend and I ordered the Trio of Dip, Chicken Benny and the Salmon Benny. First, the Trip of Dip came out. It was loaded with the 3 dips hummus, tzatziki, and tirokafterir. There were also a couple delicious olives spread around. Our bennys were also delicious. I found the flavour of the chicken/chorizo/corn benny somewhat different but it was still good. THe Salmon benny was great. I only had a small bite, but it the salmon was nice and moist and added a nice flavour to it. Only thing i can say about the place is that it was quite cold! I think it was just the time of day we went(tuesday at 2pm). No point wasting heat on an empty restaurant!

I brought a date here last weekend. I made a reservation after reading many positive reviews. This restaurant has live music which starts around 8pm. We ordered the Ocean platter to share. The server was great and advised on not ordering a separate salad. She was right it was a lot of food. The calamari was pretty good, but I felt it needed a little more seasoning. The clams were excellent and the broth it was in was tasty. We also had smoked salmon and olives which were good as well. The prices were reasonable. At around 7:30pm, the band came in to set up, it was right beside us so we got a front row seat. We very much enjoyed the performance as the artists invited us to join in with shakers and wood block. It was a very fun evening and we will go back again sometime in the future.

I have this bias towards restaurants with views of the water. I think because they have great views and are usually located in touristy spots, that they skimp on the food. Branas proved me wrong. A bunch of us had lunch there and it was fantastic. The calamari was a crowd pleaser, especially with the toddler at the table. I shared the spanakopita(spinach pie) and the chicken souvlaki. Both dishes were fresh, yummy, and well seasoned. I had a sample of the Greek dessert that had honey, custard, and whipped cream. I can’t remember the name, but it was very yummy. If I wasn’t so full, I would have order one for myself. I’m definitely going back for that dessert.

Excellent dinning experience and very good service with an amazing view of the city. there were four of us so we had quite alot of side dishes, kalamari was tender and had the right crunch, and the tzatziki is probably one of the best in town, also the spicy feta dip is really good as well. but what really impressed me was the mussels and clams in white wine sauce, cant wait to go back for more.

2.5 stars. Agree with Adam H. and Stephanie S… the service here is terrible! The location is great — right on False Creeek, next to Monk McQueens — with added bonuses of being not busy for brunch and free street parking! My girlfriends and I are continuing to try out different brunch places in the city and came here this weekend. Smaller menu with bennies and omelets. I went with the ham, brie and mushroom omelet and all their brunch items come with a small salad, crispy hash browns, and baguette style toast. Reasonably priced at $ 11−14/item. Food quality was good but I prefer my omelets to have a bit more stuff and less egg. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We were there for a couple of hours and at most there were 3 tables full during that period. The server never checked in on us once he dropped off the food, meaning that we had to keep flagging him down for more water and coffee. Duh… you’d think that he’d have clued in after the second time that he should check in?
