C F U N 1410 Am-Cable Fm 100.1 Radio Station

It’s been a few months since I tuned into my favourite radio station and, to my surprise, the station that I loved, the station that brought the Lower Mainland community closer to my ears, is now gone. What happened?
For years, I’ve enjoyed your on air personalities. I loved listening to Coast to Coast AM as well as Dr. Laura and many other programs. You could always «on a whim» tune into 1410 AM Talk Radio and listen in on what was happening around us.
I cannot believe the «aw shucks» attitude of Mr. James Stuart, Vice President and General Manager of CHUM Radio Vancouver, who writes: «To those who have listened to TALK 1410 through the many ups and downs of the talk format and changes in styles and personalities… we sincerely thank you and we also sincerely thank the advertisers who have supported the radio station as well over the past years. I truly hope you will give our new station a try, but I also will understand if you decide that it is not for you.»
What kind of statement is this? You’re really going to let go of the demographic who supported you all these years so easily?
Trust me when I say this: by changing this radio station to an «all sports» format, you’ve excluded many listeners and advertisers who don’t care for sports.
What a disappointment.
I’m sad that the one radio station that I could count on to build community in all areas (current affairs, relationships, etc, financial and health matters) is now gone.
