OMG ! I loved this place. My aunt and uncle recommended this place in Vancouver and I was not disappointed. I had the ‘Red Thai Curry Ling cod’, where do I start, where do I end ? The dish was very flavorful, the fish was perfectly done, crispy on 1 side and the fish would flake properly. The red curry was delicious, amazing flavor in every spoon. The rice itself seemed to have nuts which contrasted well with the fish and the curry. I felt like a food critic enjoying the different layers of flavor in every bite. My only gripe is that the gravy was a bit less. I would have appreciated a little more. I would return in a jiffy !

Great vibe and food. Staff was very friendly, efficient, and engaging. I loved the energy of the restaurant and great drinks. The restaurant was busy, but the staff was in sync and it seemed like all customers were being attended to. I would definitely go back.

Review update: I am utterly speechless(well nearly since I do write reviews) for the integrity, class, common decency and obvious compassion that Cactus Club Café has towards its patrons, and I’m a long time one as I fell in love ages ago with their white chocolate cheescake — oreo crust, hand whipped crème, raspberry coulis, and their darn good yam fries… next came their calamari, their signature drinks which they don’t act stingy with, their jambalaya, bellinis, mojitos… omg. Of course some things changed due to inflation… however I’ve been coming back to one franchise location or another over a decade. There is no other place like it. I received a prompt series of replies via here, email and letter with a kind gesture attached. I think humble is also a good word that comes to mind. I plan on being as good and fair a customer as much as they are a casual dining establishment who respect their patrons and own up to their faults. Thank you.

Missed last call at happy hr because the bartender was talking story with her waitresses. Ended up walking out, went next door to Hapa and was more than taken care of.

Went here of a lunch date on my last day in Vancouver, this place is absolutely adorable with hipster chic layout. Food are slightly larger in potion than most café but the quality is above average, I have not heard of cactus before this but now i am pretty sure I am in love. The only complain i have is the service– it wasn’t half bad, pretty great actually– but it took the girl a while for pretty much every request, she also seems to be new. I look forward to coming back when i revisit vancouver. To management– start stocking bourbon! Oh and on a side note: the pricing wasn’t too high but expect about $ 50 per person for drinks, starter and main.

First of all, I’m not a Cactus Club kind of guy. just not into the chains However, my friend wanted to go for an after work drink, and said they had a decent happy hour Upon arrival impressed with the ambiance, sat at the bar and ordered the daily special beer. Not bad, Granville Island. pretty standard. My buddy said the special wine wasn’t that special. so he ordered something else Ordered the dry ribs, which were undeniably tasty So yeah, proved me wrong. I guess. enjoyed the ambiance. good place for after work happy hour

I came here for a girl friend’s birthday last week and we all had their Dine Out 2016 menu: Appetizer — ravioli and prawn duo This can be found on their regular menu and was delicious as always. Entrée — soy Dijon salmon Great flavour and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The sauce is quite salty, and depending on the plate, some of my friend’s plate had too much sauce making it overly-salty for them. Mine was OK though! Dessert — chocolate peanut butter crunch bar bite Very, very sweet. There was a little hiccup during our service. The birthday girl found a full piece of parchment paper under her salmon. We asked for it to be sent back and it was replaced with a fresh dish. The manager came out to apologize and the server was also apologetic. They ended up comp-ing her meal as well as offering the whole group a round of free shots. Great damage control on their part.

Cactus club is a chain restaurant establishment that offers casual dining. At the Yaletown location, food and drinks are decent and have been consistent each time I visit. Score for the HH drinks offered on m-f, 3−6pm! Drink specials only and unfortunately not on any food. Servers were pleasant however, not very attentive. Took a while to flag down a server, which really shouldn’t be the case. We ordered the tuna stack(ahi tuna tower) with wonton chips. Very tasty and flavored well. Love how cactus incorporates a mash up of different cuisines. Overall, cactus club is a great place to grab a drink and a quick bite.

Great place to watch the games, they also have happy hour available during the week after 9pm! Drinks are strong, they have a huge wine list too! Food was so tasty, including dessert like the peanut crunch!

Busy location but excellent service. Came here for my friend’s birthday, we were a group of 7 and they seated us right away and our drinks came quickly. I had the tuna sandwich and it was amazing! The tuna was fresh, and it was great. Had yam fries as a side for an extra charge and the fries were really good. I will definitely recommend this location to all my friends.

I used to come here quite often, I always thought Cactus had good standards and consistency. My girlfriend and I came for a bite Sunday at 4:30pm(not typical dinner time) just before heading to an event at Rogers Arena. We were greeted and seated quick, but it went downhill from there. We waited in the booth for 10 – 15 minutes without any service. Two waiters quickly passed by in that time with zero acknowledgment towards us. We left after being ignored for 15 minutes. I let the hostess know the reason on the way out and her response was«I’m not sure why that happened, bye.» There are many better options in the Yaletown/Downtown area. I would not recommend wasting your time and money here.

I have mixed feelings about this place and really would give 3.5 stars. The pros: The millionaire steak maybe didn’t make me feel like a millionaire, but it was pretty delicious. The filet mignon was cooked nicely and the creole butter had a nice spice to flavor the meat. It came with asparagus and mashed potatoes which were decent, but made better with the creole butter. Really I adore the creole butter. The cons: The calamari we had was meh and the dill dipping sauce didn’t do it for me. The drinks were quite disappointing, especially for what you could get in Yaletown. Mostly traditional overpriced cocktails, and the waitress kept pushing doubles on us. It’s as if there’s only a mediocre amount of alcohol in your first drink. You want a real stiff drink? Gotta order the double. I also have mixed feelings about the ambiance. The outdoor patio is lovely with the heated lamps, but the inside is pretty dark with a bunch of large televisions that were playing baseball. It’s a little bit schizophrenic as it’s lounge-y and classy, but then throw in some mediocre drinks and sports television.

We stopped by the Cactus Club Café in Yaletown after seeing them all over town and wanting a happy hour drink. We sat at the bar and were served promptly. My date had a kiwi-flavored drink which was a bit unique and pretty tasty. The bar seemed very dark. It would probably be nice for a more romantic dinner, but for our purposes, I wish the bar was a little lighter and airier. Cactus Club is a perfectly good place for a drink, but with all of the fun bars on the Yaletown strip, I recommend one drink and move onto the next venue.

I come here often enough to be treated well, if not liked a decent regular. They say me in the lounge booth… Ignored me for 15 minutes while menus are sat out in front of me on the table… I eventually walked back to the hostess table and she says«has no one come by to greet you yet?» I said no so she sat me outside. 3 or 4 minutes go by I finally Get greeted and I obviously order having starred at the menu for what felt like a lifetime, and already having it memorized since I come here 3 times a week. Anyways food was good, same as usual I guess BUTTHISISYALETOWN. Most of the restaurants here if not all is GREAT! Service like this? Shake your head… Really give it a good shake. The best was when I was near being done she asked me if I wanted my chicken to go? I said yes and she plops down this for me to wrap up myself and take… DISGUSTINGSERVICE!!! I’m sure if it were back in the day and the owner had his little space on Pemberton in North Vancouver he wouldn’t treat a single customer this way. Oh and did I fail to mention I used to work for this company? … Won’t be coming here regularly again, how PATHETIC

Had the cajun chicken sandwich for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. Simple but tasty: «spicy»(but not really) cajun chicken, shredded lettuce, tomato slices on buttered and toasted bun. Yam fries just as delicious as always. Chocolate lava cake and African Nectar = the perfect dessert. The booths toward the back were empty for most of my time there on Sunday evening, so I lingered for a while after the meal to do some work. Chill vibe where the servers check in but don’t hover.

Ok so I came here with my gf and I the day of my birthday. The girls that were working were EXTREMELY stuck up and so so so so rude to us. We got seated on the patio and they were talking shit about us the entire time which is SOOOOO disrespectful. They work in a professional restaurant and bullying their customers by talking shit about us to each other is completely UNACCEPTABLE. There were 5 of them. and all in a circle and they would look over at our table giving us dirty looks and laughing. This is not okay and I will make sure to contact the head office and let them know exactly what kind of rude girls work at this location. We were there at 1:00pm-2:00pm on the 10th of june 20145 and were seated on the patio. So it is very easy to find out exactly who was working on the patio, and who the hostess was. Nobody should ever feel so uncomfortable when enjoying their birthday on a patio. It is not okay. This is a country that no matter what people look like everyone should be treated the right way. BULLYINGISNOTOKAY!!!

I like this Cactus for job meetings. The dinning area is really reserved, so even tough it is a noisy restaurant, I feel like I have more privacy than the other restaurants on the area. Also they put a very low light, so it helps to give an impression it is an intimate place. My favorite dishes are Raincoast Salad($ 17) when I want something healthy, and Cajun Chicken Sandwich(15) when I am not worried about the calories. By the way, this second one is a burger. The staff are really nice and friendly. I am not a big fan of Cactus food, but the whole bundle(service, location, food, open time, etc) makes it and attractive restaurant for some occasions.

We went into Yaletown with a few hours to wander around before our flight home. Cactus Club was inviting with a blend of sports and attractive people. We ate the lettuce wraps as a starter and a teriyaki rice bowl and thai red curry as mains. Very attentive servers kept our food, wine and water coming and the table clear.
