The bartender that waited on me was absolutely amazing, her name was Chelsea. She was friendly, and really talked to me. Gave me the best service and tips on what to do throughout vancouver on my vacation.

We got into Vancouver around 9:30 pm and were looking for a light dinner close to our hotel, so we decided on the Cactus. The restaurant has a modern feel with plenty of seating, both inside and outside. The lighting is dim, with the intent of creating an intimate atmosphere, unfortunately that’s disrupted by the volume of the music(usually I prefer having a conversation with my husband without raising my voice). It wasn’t very busy and we were seated promptly. The seats are too big, making it difficult to be close to your significant other. We decided on what we wanted to eat pretty quickly, but had to wait about 15 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order. After our order was taken it was another 20 to 25 minutes before the food arrived. We only ordered the calamari starter and the gardenburger and it wasn’t that busy, so not sure why the service was so slow. The food was good, with the potions being on the larger side, which makes up a little for the prices. After we were finished with our food it was another 10 to 15 minutes to flag down a waitress and get our bill. In the end, the food is not worth the lack of service or the volume of the music. This was our first and last visit to the Cactus.

This is 100% the place to go for great drinks, amazing food and a great date atmosphere. I’m from Seattle and every time I visit Vancouver I always go here. The blackened creole chicken is the best dish I’ve had in a long time. The Brazilian(kiwi mojito) is still to date my favorite drink. It’s very clean which is always huge with me. The wait staff seem to work together really well, whenever we needed something there was a server asking us even if it wasn’t our original server which was great! Can’t wait to come up again! :)

We absolutely love this place! We had the meat balls, chicken wings, chicken lettuce wraps and a salad. We always come here when we are in town. A must visit.

I got the jambalaya bowl on brown rice and light sauce instead of white rice and heavy sauce. It was so delicious and was so much better than the original version! Staff was very nice and the service was great. I would go back there again.

This place is busy yet they continue to provide excellent service along with great dishes. I have been here a few times and the last time I was here I was kind of dressed casually so I felt a bit conscious but the warm hosts and servers made my friend and I feel welcome. Isn’t that what hospitality is about? We had drinks, appetizers and dinner. The servers are super organized and I really admire how they handle working in such a packed environment. There is a reason this place is popular. I have nothing further to add other than keep up the good work :) –This review is from 8÷9÷2012, I have lost access to my other Unilocal account, I am reposting my reviews from that account onto this one. Sorry for any confusion. I have contacted Unilocal about this :)

Solid place! Nice variety on menu and innovative drink menu. Nothing special but definitely a good meal while you’re exploring Vancouver! The staff was very nice!

We stayed in downtown and this is the only good restaurant. Very good service, very delicious food. We ordered a salmon and short rib, both of them are super good, raised the bar of my expectation from a restaurant. Didn’t know that a ‘café’ place can have such fine food. No wonder there’s always a line waiting. The desert menu is kind of limited, I wish they have more choices.

We went to the Bentall Cactus Club after work on Friday. This is one of the most popular locations. The staff are all dressed very stylishly and are very attractive. Because of that, there is a huge after work bar crowd. The ambience is more high end cocktail party than quiet dinner. This location is the closest to work, so we’ve come here before. It’s best to come here for happy hour because they have really excellent sunset sodas and bellinis! They really hit the spot after a long work week! We got some recommendations from our server for comfort food and we ordered meatball spaghettini and blackened chicken. Both dishes were so delicious! The pasta had a creamy ricotta mushroom sauce with really big kobe beef meatballs! The blackened chicken was so juicy and nice and spicy! We would definitely order these again!

This is one of the better cactus clubs in Vancouver. Obviously, you will be greeted by very attractive hostesses just like any other cactus club. The location is perfect. They gave a diverse menu, probably more stuff than other locations. The service and the food is over the top.

To date I still have not received a response to my comment card. Strange that they would solicit feedback but not take the time to follow up. After my last review however, I received an almost immediate email from the general manager. After a few emails exchanged, he was very formal and apologetic but it seemed the only thing he was willing to address was the lackluster service. That was only part of the problem. Will not be returning to Cactus club.

Went with a big group; our reservation was booked weeks in advance. When we arrived we were told we couldn’t get a table together and that we had to be out by a certain time because they had another group coming in. So you expect a group of 20+ people to eat quickly so you can accommodate another group? Definitely bad planning on the part of the restaurant. The server said that this was mentioned to the person who made the reservation, but it definitely wasn’t. For the most part, service was pretty slow(especially considering they wanted us out in two hours), but it picked up. Our server was friendly and didn’t make a big deal out of people changing seats throughout the night(since we couldn’t all sit at one table, people sat at different tables throughout the night). I had the«Create Your Own» steak and it was really good. Dessert was just okay. Not sure what changed throughout the night, but we didn’t end up having to leave when we were originally told which meant we stayed for quite a few hours without getting the boot. Despite not getting kicked out like we were originally told we would, I wouldn’t recommend Cactus Club for groups. The washroom is neat though — there’s a TV in each of the stalls! There’s also an «Exotic Foot Flush»(not making this up. That’s what the sign says).

I stopped by Cactus Club for dinner. For starters I shared the ravioli + prawn trio. I ordered the prawn spaghettini with an organic greens salad. I had key lime pie for dessert. The service and food was great!

This place is a chain in Vancouver. We passed by it a few times when we were going to the Waterfront. When we were walking back to our hotel after the Seawheeze race, we were tired and starving. Luckily it was still early around no one and it wasn’t too busy. We got a table right away. We were seated outside which had a heater blowing on us which I’m sure would be nice during the winter months but I asked the waitress to turn off since it was a bit too warm for me. All the waitresses were friendly, overall service was great. I needed a celebratory alcoholic beverage. The Cesar looked amazing so I figured I would try that. I found out a Cesar is a Bloody Mary basically but with clamato juice instead of tomato juice which was really nice. It added some flavor and zest. Apparently Cesars are everywhere in Vancouver(I’m not sure if this is a Canadian drink). This was the best one I had on the trip, out of the three I tried. We got the ceviche which was delicious. I loved the fresh salmon in the citrus juices which went great with the tortilla chips. I totally could have eaten more of this or made this my meal. It was light and refreshing. I also got a Rainforest greens salad and added some Lois Lake salmon. This salad was a good choice and it was a great idea to add salmon. I was hungry and this was light and not overly filling. The spicy walnuts was a nice addition. I’m glad we stopped and tried this place. I have this place bookmarked so when I come back to Vancouver, we can eat here again or at least have a Cesar!

After coming to Vancouver in 2014, everyone asked me if I’d been to Cactus Club… um, no. I was informed that I MUST go during my next visit. After SeaWheeze nooner yoga, I was hungry, so my friend and I headed here for lunch, and we arrived around 1:15. The restaurant was busy, and the wait was about 15 – 20 min, but we were able to find a table at the bar and were quickly given the full menu. I had the BBQ duck sandwich(no proscuitto) and my friend had something else. We both opted for 50⁄50 on the fries between yam and regular fries. Sandwich was delicious… my only thing is that since they wrapped the meat inside the lettuce, it kept slipping out from the bread when I tried to eat it! Iced teas were constantly refilled and our server was delightful. I can see why this place is so popular! :)

Seul hic… C’est un peu cher !

We stumbled upon cactus club after arriving in Vancouver late at night and had a delightful late night snack. It was their late night happy hour which was fabulous. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful vancouver weather. Service was attentive and very friendly. I had a chicken curry that’s probably one of the best curries I’ve had at a non-indian restaurant. Others with us had the tunt tartare and wings — all of which were presented beautifully and they raved about both. Wish we had had time to try more on the menu!

I love Cactus Club, great ambiance, drinks and food — no matter which location and This bustling downtown spot on Burrard St. did not disappoint. Our group sat on the massive covered patio, as it was raining outside — like it does a lot here in Vancouver — and surprisingly, our section’s all around floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlook the already kitchen visible from the outside. The workplaces are spotless and it is nice to see the cooking component mixed into the overall dining experience. Service was outstanding, on point; classy and unhurried. The appetizers flowed at the table, tiny hot wings to nibble on, calamari with tsatziki, 3 mini angus burger sliders with Sriracha, Thai chicken tenders, all were great to share at the table I Ordered the wor won ton soup adding prawns; which was surprisingly very tasty. I am used to the taste of the soup at an authentic family style asian hole in a wall in Various places and Cactus replicated the taste perfectly adding unique variety to its menu. As always, a great place for amazing food, drinks and people watching; à bientôt!

This excellent spot in downtown Vancouver boasts a diverse, eclectic selection of food and drink, and appears to have one of the liveliest Happy Hours in town. In town for a recent conference, I enjoyed an early dinner here with some colleagues, and was impressed by the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere. While we were overwhelmed by the extensive menu, our server recommended orders of Calamari and Short Ribs for the table, both of which were wonderful. I selected the Soy-Dijon Salmon for my entrée, which was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The restaurant’s selection of in-house ales was solid, as was the wide variety of signature cocktails. All in all, a terrific meal in an outstanding city.
