Cambie Bar & Grill

Well, it’s pretty dirty and disgusting here but we always end up here and always have tons of fun. Cheap drinks and interesting people and I like that its pretty bright inside lol.

The place is disgusting. The tables are old, wooden, and not in particularly good shape. The real trouble, though, is with the washrooms. The Cambie is well known to have the worst washrooms in the city. Are they ever cleaned? I would rather pee in my pants than have to go back in there. Given how much alcohol flows, they ought to pay more attention to this crucial detail.

The best place to come in with your friends and leave with even more friends! The communal vibe of the place let’s people interact with people from all different backgrounds — the hostel upstairs contributes to that as well. Drinks are cheap and food is good. This is the perfect formula that ensures you will always have a good time here. You can control the music and the mood of the place through the jukebox. When you come later at night during the weekends, the place can get very packed and too rowdy. Tables may be a challenge as well. Nevertheless, the trusty and ever so valiant security guys will always come to your rescue — trust me, they’re quite friendly! If I’m looking for a casual but good time with friends, this is the place we will go!

I Like it. Beer is cheap as should be in a dive bar. Service is not consistently good but no ones mean to you. their pretty busy and when their not the service is good. I think that people on Unilocal have to quit bitching about food they have paid $ 6.00 for. Get real, a burger and a beer for less than 8.00 $ and your complaining about it not having fries! White spot dine in, 5 guys, fat burger and all fast food restaraunts, none of them come with fries. If you want a better deal take a can of Pabst to Costco! The crowd here is very eclectic, from the mentally ill and homeless junkies coming in to sell stolen goods to cute office workers and hipsters. Its either your kinda place or not. I always enjoy it.

We love this divey Gastown bar, so we try and stop by when we are in the area. Unlike some of the reviews posted here we found the food, drinks AND service to be quite good. Their home made soups are delicious, and they usually have a good drink special or two. Nothing fancy here, simply unpretentious and fun. Lots of TV’S playing sporting events if that’s your thing. Good prices too!

Went on a Sunday night (so it wasn’t busy) got seated and waited for 10 minutes for someone to take our order or at least acknowledge us, all to no avail… I made eye contact with a waiter who ignored me and instead went to drink by the bar, so after 10 minutes of a similar dance with every waiter We could find, and seeing that if we stayed there we would probably starve waiting for our food and drinks to arrive, we just got up and left. Didn’t even order.
What a dump, never coming back.

The staff are rude and don’t care about their customers. They are not kind. They don’t look like Vancouverites.

Eh. I’m okay. I came here for a friend’s birthday and it was jam packed and there were no tables left. So we had to stand for the entire night.
This place is hipster nation. I felt completely out of place, yet one of my friends said she felt it was her scene. It’s a dirty dive bar, I don’t really get the hype. We had a couple drinks, stuck around and chatted for a bit, then hit up McDon’s afterwards.
Not the place for me.

Amazing the first night! Friends from out of town and I went bar hoping started here walked around the whole block bar hopping and ended the night back here! Nachos are decent a small services 3 people like other reviews mentioned. Live the mixed drink specials sex on the beach was bomb but when we came here a few nights later the tequila sunrise double was horrible! Couldn’t even drink them, I ended up getting some more oj to help with it but still tasted like pure tequila and water. Ended up going to the other bartender to get them remade and could finally stomach them. Overall would come back for the experience with friends and cheap specials!

Foods gross… better off eating kfc or mcds… for real. Terrible food and some. hopeful I don’t. Have upset tummy tmrw …

Mediocre pub, And terribile food.
Went there at around 2 PM I got the lunch specials that they have. I had the pulled pork sandwich and the poutine and they were both disgusting.
On the plus side it was only 5 dollars. If you’re looking for cheap mediocre food I would suggest the warehouse.

Solid place to grab a beer. Loud, young atmosphere. Bartender was friendly and gave me some good recommendations, though their beer selection is somewhat limited.
Stereotypical doormen who think they’re the strongest men on earth and oh-​so-​important. Dude, breathe, you check IDs.

This is the WORST bar in the world. It is because of the Cambie that MORE THAN ONE horny tourists have stuck their tongues down my throat.
The last time I was there I drank like 10 J&Bs and started throwing up in the handicapped stall. Two of my girlfriends were in there with me and all of a sudden they started screaming because they noticed a piece of shit in the corner of the stall. What!!! Luckily this drew attention away from the fact that I was puking and probably crying.

Great beers and food! Lot´s of people. Nice music!

This place is great and has that very hostel vibe. It’s pretty awesome that one part is a hostel while the other has a very loud bar. Staying there wouldn’t be ideal, as the noise was constantly loud from the people, if it wasn’t from the music.
I came here for the nightlife and it was rad. You’d see everyone just mingling and potential hookups in the air. It was definitely entertaining to people-​watch the crowd. If that’s not your forte, you can watch the tv’s displaying wrestling (WWE!), or dance along to Bohemian Rhapsody, which apparently is a universal song.
I did all of the above while splurging on poutine. It’s the Canadian thing to do. I couldn’t resist and it didn’t disappoint. Fries, gravy, and cheese curds! So simple and delicious! The ambiance was great and a night of fun could be found here.

Went there for some drinks for the first time last night. The only staff member that smiled all night was the giant iranian bouncer (good on ya!). The rest of the staff members we dealt with were smug and miserable.
Everyone at my table was made to feel like we weren’t very welcome. I’m sorry we required that the servers actually do their job. It won’t happen again.

Ew, I don’t know what my younger self was thinking.
The Cambie is the kind of bar you go to when your friends from high school want to make the trip out to the city, but not to Granville. Somehow, this bar has a reputation of being a fun place, but it’s not.
The jukebox is incredibly loud, and plays a collection of the worst songs of all time. Between selections from Sublime, Tool, and even Steve Miller Band, you’ll hear the most tasteless bar rock at the loudest volume. But this is a jukebox, and thus is picked by the patrons…
Yes, everyone who isn’t in your group of peers you haven’t seen since high school is actually fucking insane. They’re about eight pints of bad beer in, and they’re looking to get frisky or fighty without the bouncers noticing. Because if the bouncers do notice, it’s broken nose city. I’ve seen them «end» a lot of fights through the years before they «start.» Fights like somebody touching the waitresses P.O.S terminal.
This is the kind of place that everyone seems to make excuses for. The bathrooms are nicer, they have a patio in gastown, or they have an alright kitchen. No excuse for angry staff, including male bartenders who’ve made sexually abusive comments to my female friends. Or the fact that they thought it was OK to have a Pimps and Ho’s theme Halloween event.
Realistically it’s still probably one of the worst places to hang out in Vancouver.

Finally had a chance to try the nachos here. There are 2 sizes — small (~$ 9) and large (~$ 15). The bartender told me the small is a better deal. It was big enough to feed 3 people. Beautiful.
The layering was surprisingly decent. Toppings were great, and the chips were crunchy. Also, the dish wasn’t very greasy at all! Delicious.

It’s one of those places that really just… make you get to know strangers nearby you without feeling awkward.
Is it the tables? YES. The giant picnic-​esque tables that make you feel awkward for having just two or three people there… but once a group of strangers join in, it’s a party. Something strange happens from here; the two groups merge and they get to know each other. One night, I met people who worked on movie sets! Definitely a difficult place to find seats as the night goes in, but coming in here early gives some advantage, so… there’s that.
The $ 12 pitchers are great deals. I love them. Food is pretty good too, so I’m happy.
The staff? Yeah, they’re okay. They’re not fantastic, but they’re okay. Although there is this blonde girl who offended a lot of people there on Halloween by having a «black-​face» on. :/​That was not cool. Her excuse was that she has a boyfriend who’s «black», but that doesn’t give an excuse for her to do that. I don’t understand who in their right mind told her that it’s ok for her to dress up like that on Halloween.
Anyway, that’s beside the point, I suppose. I like the place enough to go here still, right?

I love the Cambie for is famous Poutine and Burger and Fries!
Also it’s a good place for meeting friends and having a good time.
And the table and the bathroom has been redo which is great compare than before.
The only things is cheap beer mean keg not so fresh…
So when I am drinking bottle of beer all night long
I am top shape the morning after.
BUT if I am drinking pitcher of beer…
The Un freshness give me an hangover (real bad headache) every single time.
And a bunch of my friends has experiment the same thing.
But it’s OK because… The Cambie has been around here FOREVER!

Das Cambie ist in Vancouver ein super Anlaufpunkt! Ein richtiger Pub, mit richtigen Holztischen und –bänken, für die Stadt extrem günstiges Bier und voller cooler Leute die gerne quatschen. Am Wochenende ist die Cambie Bar zwar etwas überrannt von den ganzen Sprachschülern, man trifft aber trotzdem immer haufenweise Kanadier. Auch die Burger waren immer gut und die Beilagen mehr als ausreichend, da es wegen der riesen Schlangen sowiso empfehlenswert ist so um 8 – 9 Uhr dort aufzutauchen lässt sich ein Besuch dort gut mit dem Abendessen verbinden, dann bekommt man noch nen Tisch, kann sich den Dollar für die Gaderobe sparen. Sonst nimmt man einfach nen Pitcher in die Hand und rennt rum um Leute kennen zu lernen, macht auch Spaß!

Wer gemütlich feiern will ist hier richtig. Die Cambie Bar gehört zum angrenzenden Hostel und bietet vergleichsweise günstige Pitcher (Bier) und jede Menge Burger, sowie das unvermeidliche Poutine.
Je später die Stunde, desto besser die Stimmung, nüchtern kommt man selten wieder raus

Das Cambie ist sicher eine der besten und günstigsten Möglichkeiten um in Vancouver ein Bier trinken zu gehen. Das Pint Bier ist mit ca. 4,50 CAD um einiges günstiger als in anderen Pubs. Zudem bekommt man eine große Auswahl an guten Bieren aus der lokalen Brauerei auf Granville Island. Ich kann das Honey Lager sehr empfehlen. Das angebotene Essen ist ebenfalls gut. Die Auswahl an Burgern ist groß und lecker. Die Poutine sollte man bei einem Besuch in Vancouver unbedingt probieren. Die Preise fürs Essen sind auch sehr fair.
Die Stimmung im Cambie ist immer super. Besonders am Wochenende und zu Spielen der Canucks ist der Laden rappelvoll. Man sollte nicht zu spät kommen, da sich teilweise ab 21 Uhr lange Schlangen vor dem Pub bilden und die Tische komplett belegt sind.
Mangelnde Sitzmöglichkeiten und teilweise übertrieben laute Musik sind auch meine einzigen, aber nicht besonders ins Gewicht fallenden Kritikpunkte. Das Cambie bekommt von mir eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung und ist ein super Platz um neue Leute zu treffen!

Os aperitivos são uma delícia (comi uns aperitivos com tempero mexicano… uma delícia), o ambiente é bem legal é espaçoso, o preço não é alto… o problema é o cara que atende no caixa é um grosso, mal-​educado…
