Vey expensive and not good. Unless you are Asian this place is not for you. The food is mediocre and quite odd. We ordered prawns and they came out served with potato and yam crinkle cut fries on top– no joke. I have travelled to Hong Kong– Philippines — Singapore and Thailand and I know and can appreciate good Asian food. Don’t waste your time here there are so many other incredible Asian places to go– where your wallet and tummy can be happy at the same time.

The Chinese food here is definitely very special and not your typical Vancouver Chinese food. It’s food based from Xian. Food is okay but definitely not the best. It’s… special. They offer food that you can’t get anywhere else in Vancouver. But it’s not food that suites my taste. When I went, which was a Saturday at 12, there was only one other table occupied. This is definitely a fine dining establishment. Service was okay, attentive but didn’t feel like they genuinely cared. Overall wouldn’t be back.

Very different Chinese food here. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the food is excellent. The restaurant itself is right on the water by the marina and it’s the only Chinese restaurant I’ve been to with a patio! The food here is more Northern style so has a lot more spice than other Chinese restaurants you may try. The Peking Duck in particular is the big draw here. Sliced at the table for you and the skin is perfectly crispy. We ate a lot of dishes here and they were all very good except for the spicy lamb dish. Thought it was a bit too clumped together and not as good as everything else. Wish I knew the names of all the dishes to describe them better! Presentation and music here were very different. Some items were set on what looked like high tea trays and the music went from mellow to a heavy beat and then all over the place. Normally I wouldn’t notice the background music at a restaurant but this time we couldn’t help but notice it! Overall, a really good meal. Not sure how often I would head back due to the price and type of food, but worth trying the Peking Duck!

Food is excellent but very expensive for Chinese food in the city. An interesting place that is suitable for special occasions. Great for out of town guests. Negative reviews are likely from those who can’t stomach heavily ethnic flavours and high prices. Service is standard.

Excellent food, elegant décor, attentive service. The Peking Duck was as good as the authentic one I tried in Beijing at the famous Quanjude restaurant. I definitely will be going back.

Very good but only for lovers of hot spicy food. Northern Chinese cuisine and great ambiance and décor. A bit pricey but not crazy considering the location and view

The food was ok, but the pecking duck is worth a try. Pretty presentation, nice interior and ambience.

Expensive yet so cheap! So after reading some reviews online, I decided to come try the $ 88 Peking duck. It was grossly fatty. Never seen so much fat on a duck before. A good inch of fat between the skin and meat. There was just two of us eating the duck and they gave us each a little bamboo steamer with 5 wraps in it. We ran out of wraps and asked for one more steamer, and also one more hoisin sauce. When the bill came it was surprising to see that they charged $ 5 for the extra wraps and $ 3 for the hoisin! I understand that usually more people share duck instead of just two people but at least give us enough wraps and hoisin for the duck not individual sizes for larger groups. So cheap of them to charge extra for that! Oh and also, you don’t really get a second course with the duck either. Just a small bowl of soup each. While walking out we saw a pile of duck carcasses just sitting on the table. I’m sure that’s where our one ended up and they used other old ones for the soup(makes sense though bc how can you make soup stock in the 10min they take your duck away). I strongly suggest not bothering getting the duck here. You can go to Sun Sui Wah or Kirin for a better two course duck(real two courses not the little bowl of soup) for less than half the price!

I saw this ad in the Chinese newspaper and it said they have the best Peking duck in town. They only make limited ducks per day and it’s first come first serve. I called in one weekend afternoon and was told the duck was sold out already and that just made me want it even more. Finally, me and 4 other friends made it down to the restaurant with duck reserved. The restaurant is right under Granville bridge downtown side. Underneath the stone grill restaurant(fyi, stone grill is closed permanently) and yacht club. Plenty of parking and the view was nice. Our reservation was for 7:30 on a Friday night, to my surprise the restaurant wasn’t even half full, there were more servers than tables occupied. I have to mention that this is the first time I walked into a Chinese restaurant with squared tables, very«interesting.» We ordered dishes our server recommended since none of us knew what to order. We had the spareribs, enoki mushrooms with tofu noodles, spicy and sour cabbage, cold cucumber and rice noodles, and the Peking duck. First came a round hard bread type appetizer with some spicy preserved beans on the side. So here we started to complain about the rectangular shaped tables, since that made it hard for our group to share food. If you are not a spicy food fan don’t eat the preserved bean sauce, it numbed my tongue! The spareribs were very dry and all I tasted was salty. The cucumber rice noodles were ok, but really just some cucumber and rice noodles in peanut butter vinegar and chili oil for $ 15. The enoki mushroom with beef and tofu noodles were kind of on the spicy side too. The tofu noodles are really just shredded dried tofu. The spicy sour cabbage was soaked in oil. The Peking duck was carved at our table and the skin of the duck was Very delicious, though have to say that you will have a mouth full of oil when biting into the duck skin. No wonder it tasted so good. The meat of the duck you can then roll into the flour pancakes with green onion cucumber and seafood sauce or with strawberry sauce and pear. Personally I liked the strawberry sauce better, it was a new combination something I have never seen before. The rack of the duck was then taken back to the kitchen and made into some soup. The soup… really bad. First of all, it didn’t come in a big bowl where you can see the duck inside at least. It was served in individual bowls and it looked like pot cleaning water, clear broth with some red oil floating on surface. There was nothing in the soup, just 2 soy beans and 1 tiny piece of diced dried tofu. Pretty sure it was loaded with MSG cause my friend got really thirsty after he drank it. The rest of us, didn’t even drink the soup after we tasted it. Oh and one friend commented: I really don’t taste any duck in the soup. I mean who knows where the duck really went, we certainly didn’t see it in our soup. Overall, I gave it 2 stars just for the duck skin.
