Had an enjoyable lunch experience here. Ordered a small rare steak and brisket phở, shrimp and pork spring roll(2 per order), sizzling beef plate with pâté & egg and rainbow che — all for $ 36 for 2 people. Broth of phở was tasty and hit the spot on a balmy day in Vancouver. Spring roll was fresh and peanut sauce was delicious. Service very friendly. It’s a small mom and pop restaurant on Denman. I will return next time to try the sandwiches and the other yummy looking iced desserts that is similar to the Filipino halo-halo.

The best bubble tea and salad rolls! Coco mocha is delicious! I have never seen this flavour anywhere else. The zen salad rolls were freshly made and huge! So glad they offer delivery through«lazy meal».

came out on a groupon and had a che-licious special, the beef bulgogi banh mi, the shrimp banh mi and the pork bomb spring roll. all the food was great especially the beef bulgogi banh mi! it was packed with beef and tasted great. the shrimp was also very good and tasty as well. the che is something i had never tried before and i loved it. with all sorts of jellies on the inside and topped with coconut milk, it was delicious although filling. my favourite was the jackfruit as i’d never tried it before. finally, the pork bomb salad roll had a little bit of fried spring roll crisp to give it a little crunch. we were stuffed after this meal but it was delicious!

Our standing order here is the tofu banhmi, shrimp banhmi and warm honey ginger tea. Never fails. Always sensational. And the shrimps are big and well seasoned. And the bread is well baked. And the price is so reasonable. That’s why the Westend is great. :)

I was pretty sure my out-of-town guest hadn’t had che before, so I dragged her to Che-Licious to try it. She tried the Dark ‘N Delicious($ 5.75; grass jelly, tapioca perals, red beans, coconut milk) while I made a custom drink to try the«popping boba». The«popping boba» is definitely worth a try. They are little fish-egg-like sacs of concentrated fruit juice. No idea what the pea-sized sacs are made of and whether the juice is straight fruit juice or some sort of processed concentrate. Probably the latter and you probably don’t want to look into the ingredients — so if you’re anxious about it, best to just go for fresh fruits and stuff here. But the experience is definitely worth a try. Each popping boba choice gives you ONE fruit flavour — not a mix of all three flavours. They are best savoured once the ice melts and you can use the bubble tea straw to suck up a bunch in your mouth. What happens is when you crunch down on the bubbles, the strong fruit flavour suddenly bursts out into your mouth. It’s definitely a different experience compared to just having the fruit flavour pre-mixed into your drink.

Came here because of a social shopper coupon. Not having high expectation. To my surprise there no msg in their food. Restaurant was tidy and have a great atmosphere. Took only minutes for the phở to come. Nice piping hot soup. Good flavor. Lot and lots of noodles even for the small size. The che was great also. They don’t skimp on ingredients here. I totally recommend anyone in the area to come check this place out. Good value, good food, clean restaurant and good service.

Decent phở but below-average appetizers. The broth for the small rare beef and beef ball phở was decent but nothing special. The rare beef was tender and the beef balls were flavourful but was missing that bounce that I like. The disappointments were the chicken salad rolls and the shrimp skewers, both included ingredients that didn’t seem fresh. We also shared their special dessert — coconut milk, shaved ice, various jellies and beans. It was my first time trying this type of Vietnamese desserts and all the different textures and flavours were interesting. If it weren’t for the great deal from Groupon, I would probably not come back again.

The star of this place is the Chè, a sweet Vietnamese dessert loaded with fruits in either coconut milk or coconut water — my favourite being Number 1 Chè-Licious special, but they also make very good sandwiches(Banh mi) and most recently introduced their authentic and family style phở, which is a perfect balance of sweetness from the clove and star anise, and hearty meat flavours, without msg or too much salt or fat. They say they simmer the broth for 10 hours! Hands down the best phở in the West End! They also have a promotion now, with two for one phở so go get one before the promotion ends!

I got the Duckling Good Banh-Mi and the Rainbow Che to go. Both were delicious! The bread for the sandwich was very fresh and had that baguette crunch! The condiments were well portioned and the duck meat wasn’t too fatty. Crispy skin was included as well as some smoky/roasted meat. Good portion for that price. The Rainbow che has a plethora of ingredients that mix well together for a dessert drink. CAVEAT: Ordering these two things together is extremely filling, but if you’re only ordering the drink alone as a dessert, the portions could be better(It’s a bit pricey and small for $ 6.25+ tax compared to other dessert options).

We ordered the rainbow che with mung bean, red bean, pandan jelly and pom pearls with coconut milk. A very refreshing drink/dessert for a hot day. This is a very clean store with cool seatings and colorful decors. They offer WiFi.

It took me way to long to get here. This has been on my bucket list for some time now. I happened to be in the area this weekend and tried it out. The portions are HUGE. I had to take half for later. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is super friendly. Ambiance is nice… I am digging the bright green shades. Makes me feel as though I am in a cartoon forest(in a good way). Very generous with portions and embeds.

Was here over the weekend with some friends and it’s my first time going into a all Vietnamese dessert place. I usually just order my Vietnamese dessert while I have my phở. This place is full on Vietnamese dessert and subs. They even have bubble tea and fresh fruit juices. The decoration of the place is pretty interesting. They have a leaf shape sink in their washroom. The decorations on the wall made me feel like I was in a little town in Vietnam(Never been there but watched travel shows). The chairs aren’t the most comfortable ones because I sat on a wooden box with a pillow on top. I ordered their special which had a bunch of jelly in it. Not bad I would say because I wasn’t huge on beans which would have been my other option. Though I have to say 6.00 something for a bubble tea size cup of dessert seems a bit pricey. But where they are located, I’m sure their rent is pretty pricey too. They had a lobster special viet sub for like 7.00 something. It looked pretty good but I didn’t get it because I just finished dinner before going there. That will be something I will try the next time I’m there. I don’t know of many vietnamese dessert places so I would recommend others to give this place a shot when you are around the English Bay area.

Interior of this restaurant and the washroom was so beautiful which felt tropical. Food was good, but overly priced. However sandwich came with more stuffing than any other places. Besides it was meaty than shredded ones from elsewhere. I’ve noticed there’s Seoul Savoury which includes Kimchi and Kalbi inside. That sounds yummy.

I came here for the icy bun. I passed on the Vietnamese desserts because we already have something really similar here in Seattle. The icy bun is warm toasted bun with ice cream and a «topping» inside. I chose the durian wafer as a topping just to try — the others did not appeal to me at all. For the ice cream, I chose green tea. I really enjoyed the combination — the durian flavor was not very strong and it added a pleasant crunch. I thought the bun would be fried, but it wasn’t. That’s a good thing — makes it not as artery clogging. Next time, I’d like to try one of their sandwiches.

I’ve always had a ‘thing’ for bubble tea… from the teenage years when I tried to make the bubbles by getting a T&T supermarket cashier’s to translate the instructions for me to English to looking for it while traveling in Thailand! On a rather nice sunny Saturday, I decided to meetup with a friend and walk over to English Bay. On our way we came across this all green place which looked empty; however as we were ordering at least 5 other customers lined up behind us. I decided to give the fresh mango bubble slush a try and boy I loved it… they use real fresh mango as opposed to powdery stuff and my friend got the coconut version of it. Both were really good and good value considering the price other places charge for juice.

Finally got around to trying this, my sister and sister-in-law raved about it. My pregnant sister-in-law makes a trip 3 times a week to pick up Che and a sub(I think her baby’s first words will be «banh-mi» and«che»). The restaurant is very well decorated — it’s bright greens and yellows and not at all obnoxious. Let’s start with the bathroom(really though, the bathroom in a restaurant will tell you a lot about what the kitchen must look like don’t you think?) It’s really spacious, well-kept and the sink is super cute. The design and décor of this place incorporates little pieces of Vietnam. We tried the«Get The Chick» sandwich and the«Saigon Signature». Loved the chicken! Saigon was good too but it was quite similar to the cold cuts at Ba Le in Chinatown nothing too special. The chicken however was so tasty. We also tried the Chelicious Refresh — without the sweetener. They use Sugar cane sweetener which is awesome but Rick and I are trying to reduce sugar intake at the moment(summer body prepping). It has Basil seeds(aka eyeballs to Rick), Coconut meat sliced into thin strips, Pandan Jelly(one of my favourites at temple), some aloe vera, and coconut juice. The little aloe chunks weren’t too sweet which was great. We also had the pork skewers they were not burnt or overcooked the meat was still tender and easily slid off the skewer. It comes with a little stir-fried veggies side dish too. Something to note: if you like regular traditional che, this is not the place for you — these drinks are not ordinary vietnamese restaurant che desserts. Rick doesn’t really like asian food and he says it’s because presentation is horrible but Che-licious is the complete opposite. I check their instagram account regularly to see new items they add to the menu and to eat with my eyes LOL everything is so pretty. We will definitely be back for more!
