Citiloc is not the only authorised Medeco dealer in Vancouver — there’s at least one other — Pacific Safe & Lock. Family run business — I have no association with them other than as a customer.

Last night our front door handle jammed and we couldn’t get into the house. Our keys etc were all inside so we couldn’t get them to drive and pick up our 1yr old son from daycare. I called citiloc at 4:45 and they were already charging overtime rates. He was at my house by 5:15, popped the handle off within 5 minutes, took 10 mins to write his invoice, and charged us $ 330. He was probably home with his family before I got to pick up my son an hour late. The fact that any company could charge a 2 hour rate for 5 mins work is appalling and unethical especially when i called before 5pm. We had no choice and they knew it. I will never use or recommend this company. Oh and we still have to get the handle fixed.

I have used Citiloc on several occasions to have keys cut and locks repaired. Their service has been excellent, all work is done punctually and well priced. I frequently recommend them to friends and family.

I needed to have a key copied for my Medeco lock. I phoned Medeco Canada and they recommended Citiloc as the only authorized dealer in Vancouver. I sent Medeco pictures of the key, it’s not restricted, there’s no «Do Not Copy» or any other numbers or registration marks other than«Medeco Security Systems Inc»). Medeco said that Citiloc would be able to have the key copied. Indeed when I spoke with Citiloc, they said they were able to copy the key, but that they would not. They only offered to upsell me to purchasing a brand new lock, or a refurbished(!) replacement lock mechanism(starting at $ 100 and going up from there). All I’m looking for is to have my key copied, and I’m willing to pay for that. Indeed Medeco says Citiloc should do this no problem for a small fee, but apparently Citiloc wants to get as much money as possible out of me, and they are refusing to support the lock. Unfortunately Medeco Canada says there are no other dealers in Vancouver. Still, I’d recommend staying away from Citiloc.

So, the mailbox key was gone… Our only one, so we had to get the lock re-keyed. My husband checked the BBB and called for quotes. Citiloc had an A+ rating and beat the other estimates by $ 50 to $ 100. Chris came out the next day and had the lock changed out in less than 15 minutes. Friendly and professional to boot! I hope we don’t need a locksmith again anytime soon, but if we do, I know we’ll likely use Citiloc again.
