I came here the other day and grabbed a few of my favourites. The girl helping accidentally grabbed the wrong thing for me and when I returned home noticed so I went back to buy the right pastry. No big deal at all. But to my surprise they gave it to me free! Not her but I’m guessing the manager. It was so sweet and completely unexpected! I honestly was not expecting this at all, but for her to acknowledge the tiny mistake and give me the new one free. Yipppeee! It really goes to show that just a simple gesture goes a long way! So thank you again! Oh and they always have delicious fresh bread and other yummy pastries. Baked today, sold today! I’ll be back!

This may sound crazy… but… Cobbs makes the best hot dog and hamburger buns I’ve been able to find in the city. They are soft and fresh and fantastic. I crave them. I always thought Cobbs was a shit chain of useless baked goods, and actually that might be accurate, I’ve only had the buns.

When I think of fresh bread in Vancouver, I think of Cobs. I still remember almost 6 years ago, even before I moved back to Van, I would always visit this exact Kits location on my way to YVR before departing from my business trips in this city to bring a loaf of bread with me. I’m just fortunate enough that these days I can just coincidentally walk here anytime I want for my regular supply of fresh bread and the spinach croissants, blueberry or lemon danish pastries, and apple butterscotch scones that I like. The quality hasn’t changed a single bit, still some of the best bread in Vancouver as L.T. describes. And of course, its wonderful and friendly staff. I’m quite surprised WestJet hasn’t discovered them yet.

Seriously, some of the best bread in Vancouver, and the prices are decent. We love their Whole Wheat and the Chia Fruit Log. The service is fantastic!

If you are from Europe and are having difficulty locating great bakery bread, you may feel excited to come across Cobs Bread, thinking your search has finally ended. Do think again. The staff are friendly and helpful and many of the ingredients are high quality, but for reasons I cannot fully explain, this bread continually disappoints. While it may be better than some supermarket bread, it’s still in that same category taste wise. Do yourself a favour and try Terra Breads – it is head and shoulders above Cobs.

Went here yesterday because I was given a $ 5.00 gift card from someone and was passing by. I admit, I am a huge Terra Breads fan so compared to Terra Breads, this experience was… meh! The bread choices are… boring! I ended up ordering 2 foccacia(sp?!) and they were boring compared to Terra’s foccacia! They were hard and tasted sort of stale. Maybe I caught them on a bad day? They’re just okay — but I probably won’t go there again unless i’m near there and starving/craving bread.

You come. You sample. You order. You leave. Uneventful. I’ve been here a couple of times to pick up basic French baguettes and cinnamon rolls, both tasty, but nothing extraordinary. They do bake everything fresh, that day, and use no preservatives. So, I try to order only whatever can be finished within the next day. Convenient. Added Bonus: They’ll give you a stamp card for purchases over $ 3 that doesn’t expire, and can be used at all locations.

the changeover of management has been a bit tough to endure… the past manager/owner rocked… but the new team seem to be getting it together… always good product

This location is a little more low-key than the West Fourth location. It looks identical(as all the Cobs stores that I’ve seen do), but the staff take themselves less seriously and are a little more, well, fun. I also have to give points to the guy who clearly memorized the manual and seamlessly told me in one breath: that the bread, which you can get slice thick for toast or thin for sandwiches, comes with seeds or without and is baked fresh daily with no preservatives plus any that is left at the end of the day is donated to charity. I regularly eat three slices(thick for toast) with just butter.

Ok I think I may have a problem… I find myself scouring the city for cobs pumpkin scones… the season is almost over and I will be sad when they leave me… until next year pumpkin scone… until next year!
