Nice place. Clean and welcoming atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Some vegetarian and vegan options, good tea selection, but uncomfortable chairs if you are planning to stay a while. Vegetarian sandwich is so good! It is my regular and the girls behind the counter know it! Tasty and fresh.

This is my first time going to Cornerstone. Staff are very friendly and my latte was delicious. I had the Big Cornerstone Breakfast, which was pretty good as well. Would recommend this café if you’re looking for a nice quiet and fairly cheap place to eat.

The bread in the grilled cheese sandwich was mushy and the sandwich was flavorless. The butternut squash soup tasted like it was from a can. The pumpkin seeds were stale. Won’t be eating here again.

I passed by cornerstone a lot of times, and I finally stopped by to get a coffee before my hair cut appointment. Staff was friendly but a bit slow service. They serve Ethical bean and organic coffee. The coffee art definitely need to be improved if they like to serve it.

Nice little coffee shop that serves donuts, bagels and sandwiches. They offer numerous kinds of coffee from decaf to caffeinated, cappuccino to espresso. They have free WiFi, no password required. Indoor and Outdoor seating.

BEWARE!!! Definitely poor customer service. I ordered a coffee and had in my hand a US $ 20 bill. The girl took the bill, gave it to someone else to check out andcthen gave me my change. When I? What exchange rate they used, I was told no exchange, excuse me? How would we know what ti give? That is your job as a business! I said you should have. Me that when u saw the $ in my hand. we don’t do exchange I wascagain told. I said that is wrong and you know it! Had I not needed the coffee so much I would have asked for my $ 20 back.

I walked by this place and came here simply ’cause the other coffee shop that I went to earlier in the week failed to deliver to me. I actually missed my bus and had to walk a few blocks, however, it worked for the best ’cause now I can knock this one off my list as part of my challenge. I had an iced latte, however, it was way too bitter and it tasted like gasoline. Awful. Customer service was good, however, coffee was awful. I didn’t even even end up finishing it.

Pretty good food as their paninis are all about the ooey gooey goodness expected. Soups are ok but a bit watery with the clam chowder. Main complaint is the brutal service They seem almost pissed off and annoyed to have people walk in and order. The place was empty with just me my wife and our little one. When our orders were ready they just put it up on their counter and called it out. Never occurs to them to maybe bring it to the table? We esp love the sign on each table asking customers to bring dirty plates to their dish pit. Don’t strain yourselves girls.

Staff was rude, accosting myself and my nephew from 20 feet away to ask what we wanted, when we had not even taken our coats off or set down our effects. Then when I said we would be ready to order but not until we had gotten comfortable. She glared at us, and I said«you don’t have a problem with that do you?» She gave us a stonecold stare and after about 15 seconds said«I don’t know.» I was flabbergasted and said it seemed she did. My nephew had already recovered his composture and was picking up his camera and putting his coat back on. I said that she had just lost $ 15 or $ 20 bucks. We walked a block to Wired Monk where we spent even more and were comfortable and welcomed.

I have to say probably the worst customer service i’ve encountered in a long time. Went i simply asked for my eggs scrambled instead of poached. she said they can’t do that, I replied«well you offer scrambled eggs on the menu» she says«Yes but if you want scrambled eggs instead of poached we will have to charge you extra». She emitted no emotion acted like someone who just didn’t care at all. To say the least I just cancelled my whole order and vowed never to return. Honestly in a place like Vancouver where there are too many amazing coffee shops and cafes there no point in wasting your time and money on a place that cares not one bit for customer service. Stay away… far away.

I come here at least twice a week as its my local fave. Great organic coffees, wholesome smoothies and a decent baked goods selection. Staff are always friendly and efficient.

Here’s a hint, if you’re going to call yourself a coffee shop, then the one thing you really shouldn’t cheap out on is the actual coffee. There’s hardly a glimmer of coffee taste to be had here, folks — just mediocre service and utter cheapness on actually wafting coffee beans anywhere near the cup of murky hot water you’ll be served. The first — and definitely last — time I went here was only because I’d just moved in nearby and had no cream at home. I was ‘greeted’ by two women apparently sucking lemons and I knew I’d made a big mistake when I put cream in the«coffees» and merely got a cup of dirty-looking water. I considered asking them to try again but suspected I’d get verbal abuse or — worse still — another cup of the same… stuff. Instead, I went straight down to the gas station at the corner, bought a carton of cream and made REAL coffee back at home — complete with actual coffee taste. Imagine that! Too bad I wasted my money at Cornerstone«Coffee» beforehand.

When I stepped in to this café, it looked nice. But as soon as I interacted with the staff and placed my order I decided never to come back. This place needs to learn to serve their customers. They are not friendly at all! Customer service is horrible.

* Good espresso, with a bit of science fiction * This corner café is one I have passed by many times and finally decided to try out. Their double espresso had a nice crema and was very smooth. Photo: The customers were a bit of a trip to watch. I got images of something from a science fiction movie where everybody is being mind controlled by an electronic device they can’t stop staring at. Seriously. The café was packed with almost every seat gone. But it was silent except for clicking sounds as everyone was transfixed on their personal electronic gadget of choice. There were tables of people who were clearly with each other but were not talking to each other.(Unless perhaps they were texting each other instead of using vocal cords.) I wanted to scream out loud and see if people would look up from their electronic devices. But I silently complied and checked my e-mail on my phone. Damn, I’m such a conformist.

I came in to hide from the rain, needing a latte and to warm up. It was empty at first which made me a little suspicious, but it soon filled up(I have a thing about empty restaurants/cafes!). Was hoping to get the smiley face latte art, but alas, no face. The latte was nice, lots of papers out to have a good read! But the door was kept open despite being blustery and wet outside, so I stayed very damp and cold the whole time there :/ A nice enough place if I lived in the area, but a bit outta my range to come to regularly.

Once again, I am blinded by adorable latte art. My soy matcha latte tasted incredible and the happy face they created out of the foam kept me smiling as I gulped . Cornerstone is especially bright with windows all around. Thumbs up for that. I’m a fan of as much natural light as possible during the day. Though there aren’t any cushy chairs and our table was wobbly, I’m still a fan. Enough to drive here from East Van? Well, no, but when I’m in the area again(Drexall!!) I may just come back.

How funny that this has been a *cornerstone* for many a meeting, an interview or to get quiet work done. There’s a buzz about the place, with most people either working, reading papers, or socializing over java. What with Ethical Bean percolating, plentiful tables, a bright building and Wi-Fi it just makes sense. There’s plenty of café treats here as well, along with soups and sammies — however, I come for the coffee and stay for the surfing. Plus there’s free parking and buses running along MacDonald — it’s ideal for Kits.

This coffeehouse looks so cute on the outside, and the inside matches as well. Perhaps it is called Cornerstone because: A) it’s on the corner(4th and Stephens) B) they only serve items with corners C) it’s a masonry shop D) it’s an essential Vancouver place Most likely, A is the correct answer. But if I lived in Kits– I might say D. Though I would really like if B was true– it’s just not feasible. When will they come out with square to-go coffee cups. It’s a great idea right? You would drink from one of the corners. One day… Here are 5 facts about Cornerstone 1) It’s very spacious(wait– is this an opinion? I think I could argue it). 2) Free wi-fi– hooray!(but not many outlets– boo!) 3) Tempting food– that I have so far resisted(paninis, scones, the standard fare.) 4) Cool and caffinated iced vanilla lattes that I have succumbed to. But I enjoyed every sip. 5) Great ambiance– nice music and interesting crowd. Oh, and it’s organic and fair-trade! Extra points for that.
