With a name like that — you would think that it would be overflowing with amazing treats. Not so much. I stopped by on the way to work. It was close to 8:00 and the display case was barely ready and the food all looked kinda meh. If you open at 7:00, one would assume that the daily offerings would be ready… Scones were still in the oven so I waited and got the apple cheddar which seems to be the«thing» there. Was it good? Sure. Would it have been as good if it wasn’t fresh from the oven? I’m not convinced. If you want a sexy scone, go to Batard bakery on Fraser. The end.

Passed this place many times and wanted to try it. The branding caught my eye. But was disappointed to find that everything is made in the morning– not actually fresh… In my standards. But fine, that’s the kind of food they serve and the business model they chose and it serves a demographic that wants counter service. But then the girl at the front hasn’t been trained properly. I was the only one in line. She saw me but didn’t acknowledge me for a long time even though at was at the counter. I ordered an item that needed to be unwrapped and put on the grill. She got the sandwich out of the front display but then another customer walked in and the counter girl stopped what she was doing and waited around for the new customer to order and proceeded with serving her instead. She prepared her order(which also required grilling) before mine and only remembered my order when I stared at her and my abandoned sandwich. Granted being hangry made me more annoyed about being ignored, but definitely not even thinking about coming back. Too bad. Looked so good from afar.

A quiet place to sit for an afternoon, great variety of scones and cookies. I didn’t have time to try some of them but they look so good! I’m gonna try them next time: D

OOh yum, I stopped by this place to grab a London Fog, and a cupcake(by Bluebird Cakery). Since it was a Friday, I got it for $ 2. I went with the salted caramel cupcake, and it was delicious! What looked like a very sweet dessert, turned out to be a soft, moist and fluffy cake with the perfect balance of sweetness, not overpowering with sugar or butter. There is a small core of caramel filling in the middle, topped with a buttercream icing. I’m generally not fond of buttercream because you can usually taste the butter, but this was incredibly soft and light. Anyhow, can’t wait to come back and try their other stuff!

I came here on their second day of their«grand opening» to take advantage of the free coffee and free cupcake. There’s plenty of street parking around the sides. The interior is super spacious, with a very open kitchen concept. There weren’t that many seating options but maybe over time they’ll add in a few more since they definitely have the space for it. For the«free coffee» I had their iced vanilla latte which was pretty good(it wasn’t sweetened but no big deal. I still drank it). The free mini cupcakes were okay. I think it was just plain vanilla and chocolate. On the other hand, their carrot cake — sooooo good! SOGOOD! I think it had something to do with their icing. The texture and consistency was creamier than what I was used to and I loved it! They also had a pineapple coconut cake which was just as good! Their prices aren’t that bad either! A good sized carrot cake for less than $ 3! Same with their pineapple coconut cake. I was also going to try their scones but apparently when I got there around 1pm they sold out of their pear scone. Next time!
