I saw Dr. Michael Lee. Google his name and check out his ratings on ratemydoctor. I have never seen a doctor so disliked. I wish I had seen these reviews before going to see him. I waited an hour to see him although the receptionist said there was a 20 – 30 min wait. When I saw Dr. Lee he said I needed to wait until he saw the next patient after me(his last patient) so that he could take care of an abscess on my leg ‘properly’. I asked if he could do it right away as my 5 month old and husband were waiting for me outside and it was already past my baby’s bedtime(I knew he was getting super fussy outside. Dr. Lee got super mad at me for this. He said that he had heard me ask the receptionist how long the wait was going to be(I asked twice very nicely after about 40 min) and that he had been busting his«ass» all day and hadn’t gone pee even though he needed to go(??). He said very condescendingly that if I wanted him to do a good job I would have to wait. I should have just left, but instead I started crying as I was stressed out and my leg was hurting like hell. He left and then when he came back was all like, «why are you crying?» I just wanted him to finish so I stayed quiet and didn’t talk to him much. He kept trying to rub it into my face though that he somehow had saved me from him doing a bad job by making me wait… it was weird. The other really weird thing was that he had a receptionist come into the room with him as a ‘third party’ when he drained my abscess as I had to get undressed from the waist down. I guess this was in case I decided to say he molested me or something in the future? It was so bizarre. Weirdest doctor experience I have ever had. I will never go to that clinic again.

For drop-in appointments, I have never seen this place have less than a 2 hour wait. The waiting rooms are insane. The doctors here are fine, but you can generally be seen faster at the Broadway & Burrard Walk-In Clinic, or the QE Park Walk-In Clinic.

What with the serious lack of general practitioners in this city, most Vancouverites I know are all too familiar with the walk-in clinic. Before coming to Cross Roads, I had bounced around to various places, sitting for hours in disgusting over-crowded waiting rooms, only to be carted into the tiny unpleasant room where the doctor would see me(to wait some more), and then the doctor would come in and have one foot out the door before even asking me why I had come in in the first place. If you have also had this experience and are tired of it, look no further! Cross Roads is by far the best walk-in clinic that I have been to ever. As with most places, the wait can be pretty long on most days BUT, here they will let you sign in and then you can come back in an hour or at whatever time they think that a doctor will be able to see you. Their waiting rooms/examination rooms are clean and pleasant. Their doctors are attentive and knowledgeable. And they are also part of a larger medical group that includes women’s health/massage therapy etc specialists, which is great if you ever need a referral. Also, after going to Cross Roads regularly for about a year, they let me know when one of their doctors was taking on regular patients. I can now actually make an APPOINTMENT to see a doctor! Hurray!
