I am a cupcake fanatic, and these don’t even come close. The cake is dry(a fatal flaw, in my opinion) and the tops are crusty. The icing is fine, but nothing spectacular. I just can’t believe this place has managed to stay in business as long as it has. Such a disappointment not to have better cupcakes in Vancouver.

Called Numerous times, No answer. No information online, in regards to if they are open or not. Can not place orders through the websites. Not pleased at all!

I had really high hopes based on other cupcake fanatics’ reviews. I went into their shop which was adorable, and greeted by happy, friendly staff. We wanted to try a few flavored but the cupcakes were pretty big, so we opted for the minis 12 pack. The flavors were pretty underwhelming. Salted caramel didn’t taste like caramel, pumpkin had a slight hint of nutmeg. The worst part was definitely biting into a tiramisu mini and pulling out a moderate length hair. GROSS. After some time passed, I felt ready to move on and picked up a mint chocolate mini. Another short hair, maybe an eyelash, was perched atop the frosting. Nope! Super done with this unsanitary place!

I saw this place and remembered the reality show with Laurie and Heather. We ordered a lemon cupcake and a tiramisu cupcake. Oh my the tiramisu had a delicious cream cheese frosting that is light and fluffy and not too sweet and the cake was a swirl of vanilla and mocha and oh so fresh and you can tell it’s made from scratch. Indulge if you must … And frequently …

I was so sad to realize this was the worst gourmet cupcake I have ever had. *sniff* The place itself was adorable-all pink and girly and themed, and getting there near close we didn’t have as many options, which we completely understood. I got the«Sweet 16″-a white cupcake with pink buttercream frosting. Remember the really sweet frosting you would get when you were a kid at birthday parties? The frosting still had gritty sugar in it and made your head explode with ALLTHESUGAR??? This is what the frosting tasted like. I had to mash the cupcake into a sandwich to infuse the frosting into the cake, if you will. I guess for a specialty cupcake place I expect their cupcakes to not taste like one you can get at any grocery store bakery.

So incredibly pleased with my custom made gluten free chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting. I can’t describe how difficult it is to find moist GF cupcakes! And the cream cheese buttercream? Now I’m no frosting lover, but I would probably bathe in it. 4⁄5 star bc, well, it’s expensive! But so is everything Canadian…

They’re just like the other stores but I’m annoyed by their Groupon. Every time I go they’re sold out of their mini package. It’s ridiculous! Don’t get it unless you’re gonna go get there early or need to get them soon.

Was here one day… Got 4 cupcakes and sat down on the seats outside on a typical beautiful Vancouver afternoon and indulged. Delicious moist and a real treat for any sweets connoisseur.

This place is okay. The cupcake was tasty but it was very dry. I was expecting a little more for the price. Again, it had good flavor but very dry. Nothing extraordinary or unique but good enough to hit the spot.

I love the cupcakes from this store. I wish I had gotten a 6 pack instead of just 2 but had been to several Cupcake locations 4 times within a 3 day span.

Looks pretty. Tastes ok(Actually the first time I ever had a Cupcakes cupcake, I was like WTF is this? Bleh! Give me some water to wash away the taste! But now I’m used to it since the people at work seem to buy the mini-cupcakes fairly often throughout the year to share, and they always peer pressure me to eat one. They’ll do if I’m craving sugar). Super pricey. I will not buy anything from this store(or any other Cupcakes store) unless there’s some sort of sale. $ 14 for 12 mini-cupcakes? I don’t think so. Wait, there’s a Groupon where you can get 12 mini-cupcakes for $ 7? That’s more like it. Best part is the frosting. Sometimes I’ll just eat the cupcake top and the frosting, and then throw out the rest. Just like that Seinfeld episode(the Seinfeld episode where muffin tops were being cut off the muffins to be sold, and then the muffin bottoms were being given away to the homeless, because apparently no one likes muffin bottoms? Well even the homeless didn’t eat the muffin bottoms.). So yea, I guess this is like that Seinfeld episode, except with cupcakes.

Sehr leckere Cupcakes. Sehr schön gestalteter Laden. Kann ich wärmstens empfehlen wenn zum Nachtisch etwas süßes gewünscht ist.

The cupcake craze is nearly a decade old but we all still love cupcakes. What’s not to love? Great location just off of the main drag of Robson St. The selection of flavors were standard — lemon, red velvet, birthday cake, chocolate brownie, cookies and cream, strawberry and mint chocolate. I got my standby(red velvet) — moist cake and sweet cream cheese frosting. Solid cupcake, solid three stars.

All it takes is some hype, and you have a hot product, especially when this sucker opend up and everyone was practically throwing their money at it like it was gold, and the business has grown. At first when I had some of their stuff, I have to admit, not bad, but a little inflated on the price, and a little two ‘candy’ sweet on the icing, to the point I wanted to smear it off on a wall or someone’s face(but hey, that’s me). The presentation is definitely here, as if your bringing one of these to a collegue or friend, they have individual takeout boxes with their nice logo as a sticker, to seal in the freshness… Over-glorified is of this treat, and this location, not as busy as yesteryear, but if your looking for a sweet(maybe overly sweet) treat for a person who loves the cupcake this is for you. Funky pinks and blue icing delights, and also in big and bite sized sizes. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, be warned, you maybe running for the water, or the glass of milk. Still the female’s flock to the store, with their token male friend in hand…(sometimes) and you will see them either buy one to eat on the spot, or outside on the small patio table at this store.

Business = 4 stars (great service, always friendly and happy — but hey, I would be too if I got to decorate cupcakes all day and my workplace smelled delicious!) Cupcakes = 3 stars. The cupcake itself is delicious and moist, but I feel that the amount of icing they put on is a tad too much. I find myself having to scrape off half of it before I eat one, which really is a waste! :( But all in all — a great concept, and I see the appeal. Thumbs up, Heather and Lori! Way to make a local business a national phenomenon! Blue Hawaii FTW! Yes, I just ate one and yes, I think I am on a sugar high right now.

10:00AM Wednesday morning The girls were looking kind of malnourished today. I think they need something. Anything. Hmmmmmm… What can I feed them? They also seemed to be a bit under the weather with all the grey skies and rain and drizzle. Hmmmmmmm… After I got male stripper tassels as an office gift(long story) for Christmas, I think I need to exact a little gift for them! *evil grin* =D What better way to start off a new year, right? Mini cupcakes. Assorted. Lost of frosting. Lots of sugar. Addictive. Cake batter made of refined flour + sugar = more sugar. Decorated«pretty» to entice consummation of more than one. I let them pick their poison. I should have been killed off a long time ago. I think they keep me alive so that I can continue to assault their waistlines and taste buds! I haven’t had Cupcake’s product in a long time so I can’t remember what they’re like. Didn’t eat any today either. The girls seemed to enjoy them tho! That’s what happens when you buy me male stripper tassels. You get assaulted by me where it hurts you the most! =P

I have an obsession with red velvet cupcakes. I love the color, I love how they taste and I love the name. The description is as follows: Red cocoa cake topped with cream cheese frosting and sprinkled with sanding sugar. I’m not exactly sure what sanding sugar is, but it was itty bitty bits of pleasure. $ 1.50 for a mini cupcake so you don’t need to feel guilty having your sweets. #30DaysOfYelp 1⁄30

Bin jetzt nicht so der Cupcake Experte, aber diese hier waren extrem lecker. Sind zwar echt teuer, aber ich finde es hat sich gelohnt. Gute Auswahl an Sorten, schön saftige Teig und echt leckere Toppings.

I have never been one to deny my sweet tooth and how sugar satisfies my taste buds but over the years have developed a skill for picking out best dessert places in the city. Cupcakes are not my usual cravings, unlike Crème Brule but cupcakes if done right can also hit the sweet spot. My favourite is the original cupcakes place on Denman but being a short walk from home was tempting enough to try this place out and it didn’t disappoint at all. My favourite flavour is the coconut as it has the balance of sweet and salty.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I came back for a Mini Blue Hawaiian(Blue Vanilla Frosting + Coconut Cupcake) and Cookies and Cream Cupcake. This time around, Cupcakes’ cake are on the drier end of the moist spectrum. The Cookies and Cream Cupcake is beautifully decorated and even though their box doesn’t have a cupcake holder, the cake itself was quite sturdy so even though it was knocked back and forth during the walk on Robson, it still managed to maintain its shape.

If you want diabetes, this is one of the places to be. I had the pleasure of trying some of their mini cupcakes today. Wow, they are good. The frosting is light and fluffy, and the cupcake itself is nice and thick, almost like a piece of fudge. Yes it is a *bit* on the sweet side, but I’m sure those with a sweet tooth won’t mind at all. One thing that really stuck out is that these didn’t taste plasticy at all. Most cheap places do.

Pink and pretty, this Cupcakes chain is really something. It’s like how I would like to decorate my room, with pink polka dot wallpaper, and other cute and pretty items. Which is probably why it always brings me into one of these shops. Sold in singles, ½ dozen or dozen, and in three sizes-mini, regular, and large ones. Lots of different varieties-coconut, chocolate, vanilla, lemon, carrot… there’s something for everyone. This night, I had the Strawberry blonde cupcake. Vanilla white chocochip cake w strawberry butter cream topped with white choco chips. The cake itself was delicious, and the buttercream was good, but just a tad too sweet(even for me)…nevertheless, it was very satisfying and made me smile. Got sugar cravings? This is the place to be.
