As I waited for Dr. Darabi in her office/examination room, I noticed a graduation picture of her son and he had an unimpressed expression on his face. To my surprise, she had the same expression on her face as she entered the room. She seemed knowledgeable as she explained the functions of the various muscles and joints surrounding the spine and back, but lacked personality, almost robotic as she spoke to me. While determining what had caused the back pain I was feeling, I felt like she was grasping onto any information I was giving her. She wasn’t very good at giving instructions. I was told that when I exhale she was going to perform a maneuver, but a few times she did them as I inhaled and blamed me for breathing improperly. Maybe it’s just me, but I need to feel some sort of connection and/or some personality from a doctor. I clearly didn’t get that from Dr. Darabi and canceled my next appointment. She’s not the worst doctor I’ve been to, but I won’t ever go back to her!
