Vancouver has innumerable parks. This is one is one of my favorites because it’s on the Seawall. It’s artsy(many sculptures along your walk), right by Yaletown(my favorite«neighborhood» in Vancouver), and you admire False Creek from it. Great for families.

You would be surprise but this park is a great place to hang out at even in the rain. I came out here after getting some cakes at the ganache patisserie around the corner on homer street. On a rainy day, that means that no one is out to play in this area. Never fear though, my little dog and I made good use of this muddy park. With our hunting instincts, we saw a bird from afar. Slowly, we made small dainty steps to get closer to the bird only 50 ft away on the grass… With great force and full speed we pounced and attempted to attack the bird. After our attempt to chase after the bird… we realized who won. Bird-1 Kimmy and dog– 0. My dog and I were definitely a complete muddy mess after chasing the birds. Who says you can’t have fun at the park on a muddy day?!

The small section that is the park is actually well maintained and nice for families to hang out. My best friend and I stopped here on the way to walking along the Granville Sea walk. Lots of shade on a hot day.

This is a great park to come hang out in, and is an especially green space for those used to condo life in Yaletown. On days with great weather, this place is full of life with lots of kids and dogs running around, as well as an older crowd. But even on those busy days, the park is still big enough that you can find yourself a little personal space. Plus, there are a couple of sports facilities here(free) and people tend to bring their own frisbees, balls, and nets for badminton and volleyball. I’ve never tried, but I’m sure they’d let you join in if you ask =) The park is also conveniently connected to the seawall, so our rollerblading and wandering-down-seawall trips commonly start here. Kudos to the city for dedicating and maintaining such a great park in the neighbourhood.

A mass green area in Yaletown that is also near water, that is what this park is. The area itself is pretty big, and you will see the inhabitants of the area using it more often than some parks in the suburb areas. I feel that the park is missing something, maybe a bit more trees as it is too open but it is a nice park to visit if you are around the area. Occasionally you will see dog walkers here playing frisbee or catch with their pet. There are cemented trails here specifically for bikes and rollerblades. The washroom area is very pretty, with a man-made waterfall that goes along the side. I remember when they set up the Coke experience for the winter Olympics here, also I have volunteered to help out for work recently for some open air movie tour thing that happened on a Sunday night. This park can be breathtaking at times, with the sunset coming down, and the rays of light bouncing off the water. The place is well maintained, not just by the city, but also by the people who live around here, like picking up your own dogs poop. Whether you live around here, or are strolling through, it is a nice park to sit and relax at. Get a book, sit on the grass, or along the benches, either look at False Creek, or the man-made water falls, watch the sunset, look at the other people rollerblade along the waterside, looking at the abstract art around the park, it has got something for everyone. Parking maybe a little more difficult, but remember this is in the heart of downtown.

Gorgeous park in Yaletown! Playground for kids, washrooms nearby, basketball courts, volleyball nets, tennis courts. I love this park because it’s really close by where I live and its clean! My favorite place to go to after work when it’s sunny. :)

This is where you’ll find me with a beverage and book on a sunny afternoon, or chasing after tennis balls if I’ve woken up early enough to score one of the two courts. Every now and the there’s an extreme high tide that laps up and floods the seawall a bit which I find mesmerizing for some reason. There’s a big field where people set up volleyball courts in the summer and play soccer year round, two basketball courts, two tennis courts(really not enough considering the density of Yaletown), and a playground. The park is also bordered on one end by the Roundhouse community center where there is generally a cool event or art show happening.

Some BC Trivia first: David Lam was a British Columbia Lt. Governor. This is a beautiful downtown park that you can walk through on the seawall. At sunset, it is at it’s most romantic as the entire Westside absolutely glows and reflects in the creek. There are areas for sports and the field is always active with players and dogs. There’s a few interesting art pieces that you can view in and around the park, including a phallic rocket in False Creek. My favourite is the tiles with pictures of people’s homes. It’s above the benches that look towards the creek. It’s really close to Yaletown and a great place to sit in the sun or exercise your pet.
