I’ve had very positive experiences at this boutique just browsing and when I’ve made purchases, granted this is post-renovation. I’ve become a regular now that their racks feature some of my favourite labels like One Teaspoon, Six Crisp Days, and Lush along with a very nice, cute, and trendy selection of accessories being sold at price points that makes me a pretty happy shopaholic. The only complaint is that there were a few pieces that I missed out on because my size had already been sold out and the boutique won’t be restocking. Albeit, understandably sometimes these things are out of the buyer’s hands too if the wholesaler or designer is out of supply and/or only produces limited stock. I was impressed to be able to find a local store carrying names that I usually have to hunt down online for and end up coughing up shipping fees to get my hands on, hence I really don’t find this particular boutique’s prices outrageous or anything. Besides the merchandise, I found the owner herself was very courteous and friendly and made some great suggestions at items that I missed but were right up my style alley. When we talked, she did mention plans for bringing in more Korean labels — a prospect that I’m quite excited about!

I work right by this store so I wandered in looking for a dress for a wedding I was attending. The prices were a little high, but it was a wedding and I left it last minute(BECAUSESHOPPING, UGH) so I wasn’t too worried about it. The thing is: The dresses were all pretty tiny. I’m not particularly large(8 or 10 usually), but I knew they wouldn’t go near me. It’s a shame because the garments were pretty. Dear Ego Closet, we’re not all tiny little asian girls. Please provide bigger sizes!

Something in the window caught my attention and then I looked at the price tag and even for something that is locally made and sourced, for what it was and the fabrics used, it wasn’t up my ally financially at least not at the moment. They do have some inspirational stuff which I appreciate and the lady at the til was super sweet and helpful.

This review is not about the clothes, which while expensive I found very cute. No this review is about the horrendous experience I had with the service. I walked into the store and began browsing, I really liked the clothes I saw and began looking at the price tags. $ 80 for a dress? Definitely out of my price range. I stil found a dress that I liked and wanted to try on anyway. When I asked the shopkeeper if I could try it on, she looked at it and then me and said«Oh, that’s not going to fit you.» Excuse me? May I just state right now that I am a perfectly healthy young woman. I may be curvy, but am in no way anywhere near being overweight. This startled me as I’ve never been so bluntly insulted while shopping before, nonetheless by someone who should be WANTING my business. I ignored her inappropriate jab and tried it on anyway, but the dressing room had no mirror so I was forced to go out into the store to look in the mirror. The dress was a little too small, but I would have been happy to figure that out by myself without this shopkeepers rude comment. Also let it be noted that when I walked out to see myself, this lady giggled. She. Giggled. Basically, I do not recommend this store. There are many places with clothes similar without rude salespeople.
