I was lured into Elissa Cristall Gallery by a one line description of the current show in the weekly paper — Derby Girlz. While the current exhibition wasn’t all that I had imagined(I had envisioned big, bright, and saturated, the reality fell a bit flat), the space seems promising & perfect for solo exhibitions. On entering the small long rectangular space I was greeted silently by a dog followed by a brief hello from the gallery owner. While the small gallery space is set up as if it were a museum(one artist, no pressure), I spied racks of other artwork in the back behind the office so I imagine the gallery represents other artists as well. Worth a look if you are walking by or checking out the other galleries on that stretch of Granville.
