This is really a review of the products, more than the store — now that every grocery store in Vancouver carries their tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole we rarely go into the actual store. But wow, their products are great! Even the guacamole — especially the guacamole! — which is, I hate to admit it, even better than homemade.

This place is our first stop for all things Mexican, including hard to find items like huitlacoche. Lots of variety and great quality.

This is our go to place for all things Mexican! Even though we don’t live in Kits anymore, we still make the trip out to FIB every 1 – 2 weeks and stock up. The chips are awesome and flavourful(and perfectly salted), the salsa is super fresh, and their flour tortillas are amaaaaaaaazing. They have a huge selection of hot sauces and other authentic condiments. And to top it off, the staff are super friendly and we’re even on a first name basis with them now. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already!

I came here often when I need Mexican spices and grocery. It is out of the way, however, well worth the trip, especially when I make Mexican food at home that is more compatible to my diet. I did get some Mexican candy once here as a treat for myself. Decent amount of selection, well organized, fair prices(for imports) and very friendly staff.

Pros: Great chips, chatty staff, clean store, hard-to-find products from Mexico all on hand Cons: my husband doesn’t like the guacamole from here, not open late

Very disappointing fresh salsa and guacamole, smothered in vinegar so it would seem, not really letting other flavours through. vinegar seems the dominant theme of both the salsa and the guacamole. not sure why as it isn’t an ingredient I would have ever added to guacamole or salsa. except maybe a tad of apple cider vinegar. but not so much that no other flavours come through. Save your money and make your own. They also don’t provide any cooking instructions for their fresh tamales, nor do they list the ingredients on the package.

Amazing fresh salsa, guacamole, spinach dip, tortilla chips and so much more — all topped with the friendliest service!
