Gigi’s Pizza & Spaghetti House

Ordered here a few times. Everything is always warm and hot. Although tziditzi sauce is really thick but otherwise pizza and others are warms d fresh

That’s pushing it, used to be better back in the good old days, though perhaps now there’s better alternatives but I digress.
But if I had to pick and choose for a hockey team outing after game, then this place is better than Martinis next door just for being better value & casual atmosphere.
Usually I order the baked lasagna & depending on my calories intake, maybe toss in a few meatballs. Nothing special, just not as good as Best Neighbours on Oak.
Offer delivery though they use so many 3^rd party companies, gets confusing.
Love the VIP booth that’s off alone on the left by the cashier. Not bad eye candy action.
It’s an old place so not really a date thing.
Spacious enough.
Lots TVs.
Drink specials.

I absolutely loved this place until there was an error in my order and I had to speak to the manager… He was 100% rude and unaccommodating… He basically told me the error was my fault and that he was unwilling to do anything to amend the order… Absolutely unbelievable… Too bad to because we loved ordering from Gigi’s and I adored the chicken canneloni, but they will never get my business again… I feel he owes me an apology for being so insulting and rude… Be forewarned…

I used to love delivery from Gigi’s, I thought there pizza was just what I was looking for in the no frills, good tasting pizza. I was away from Vancouver for a few years so was excited to try them again when I got back only to find that it was still great!
Sadly, it’s been a year now in Vancouver and I’ve seen the quality decline considerably. It’s very hit and miss, some days when I order it’s fantastic, others it’s over cooked, dry, and tasteless. I don’t understand how quality control can be so inconsistent… different people working that day? Laziness? I couldn’t guess.
On top of that delivery is out of hand, some times it takes over an hour to get the food, which I was willing to put up with every time I got a fantastic meal, but when I wait an hour only to get overcooked, cold food… I’m sorry I think I’m going to have to move on.
I really hope Gigis steps it up in the future and gets their quality to be a lot more consistent, but in the meantime I’m going to search for a new pizza place.

Vegetarian pizza was great, hot, fresh. Generous toppings, nice crust.
The young man at the till and on the phone was super polite and enthusiastic.
Open super late (3am), which is a bonus.
Great place, will order again.

The foods kinda low quality, it’s usually empty so I guess that’s a plus. One thing though, the services sucks, server takes for ever, also he seems a little like Norman bates, kinda creepy.

Came here on a Wednesday night and it was empty. I’ve always walked by this place but never went in so we decided to go here instead of the usual Martini’s a block away.
It was an OK place, seats were a bit worn out but it wasn’t a terrible place to be in. Looking at the Unilocal reviews while I’m here I’ve seen how the bad reviews were majority from terrible service.
The waitress we had, she was friendly. We ordered our food but she did mess up one of our orders because apparently the menu they gave us isn’t the same as the takeout menu the chef was coordinating it with so she had to replace our food. She was nice about it and did say sorry so there’s no rudeness there.
I had the lasagna, for the price ($ 7.95) for the small is a pretty good deal compared to the places around here. Nothing too special about it like a regular lasagna you can make at home. Also had the chicken pizza and that was good too.
Overall wasn’t a bad place to go to if you’re hungry for some cheaper eats. Just the atmosphere and the emptiness makes you avoid walking in or thinking it might be closed.

I have been ordering delivery from GIGI’S for about 5 years. Their menu is not brilliant, but the food is consistently good. You just have to find your faves, and take it from there.
Try bacon wrapped scallops, vegetarian classic pizza, fish and chips + malt vinegar, lobster dinner etc.

Stopped in for a quick lunch…
The young guy who served us was very attentive to detail and extremely courteous. The food was very tasty as well. the chicken salad was excellent as was the baked lasagne, both of which offer great value for money. Will return here.

This place is alright. I like their baked spaghetti with meatballs, and you can’t go wrong for late night eats here. The menu is varied so there should be something for everyone.

If you want your basic pizza, this is the place.
Looks a little run down, but the food is on point.

My go-​to pizza delivery place, done the old-​school way. Ditto the wings. Great taste, great service, consistent high quality!

A Vancouver institution. Love this place. My son and I always go here for cheap tasty and grease ball spaghetti. So money. Been coming here ten years and nothing warms up a cold Sunday night like this comfort food.
Ps I always eat in or pick up. Never rely on them ordering it. Mind you the times we have had it delivered it was fine.

I LIKE a lot… Their LASAGNA.
You can’t go wrong with that.
Customer service is OK tough.
Nothing spectacular but still average, so no prob for me.
The décor need a lil update…

And as I like encouraging local restaurant… I’m still going.
Not da place for a romantic dinner tough…

[Broadway Comfort Food]
The best way to describe Gigi’s is a mom-​and-​pop version of Denny’s that serves Italian food. It was one of those nights when we were getting hungry and indecisive at the same time. Bad combination. Anyhow, we ended up at Gigi’s and I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was an older place with seating for 30 or so. I was surprised to see only a few other diners given it was a Saturday night.
I perused the menu and decided on the daily special — BBQ chicken and half rack of ribs with a side of spaghetti and salad all for $ 16. Not too shabby! The chicken and ribs were both tender and I liked the sauce they were soaking in. The side of spaghetti and salad were pretty average. My SO went with the lamb souvlaki platter which included the usual fixings — 2 skewers over a bed of rice, greek salad, pita, potatoes, and tzatziki. I didn’t enjoy it as much as my own dish. The lamb was a tad dry and everything else was pretty average. Nothing to write home about.
Our server was the only one for the entire restaurant. She was friendly and quick to bring our food and refill drinks but I suspect it may have been a different experience if the place was packed. Value-​wise, you can’t go wrong. The portion sizes were good and the price was right — this was a post-​sports meal and I was stuffed. Gigi’s is open late so it would also make a good place to grab some greasy food after a night of drinking and debauchery. My only tip is if you have to use the bathroom, wait till you get home.

TERRIBLE SERVICE
For many years I have enjoyed the quality of Gigi’s pizza. However after making an order for delivery last night that came over 2 hours late I will never eat there again.
After 1hr I called the restaurant to find out if my food (promised in 30 mins) was still coming, the lady on the line was rude and said relax it has already left the building.
2.2 hours later at 230am my buzzer went off. I answered and asked the driver through my intercom if i’d be getting a discount. He angrily replied «you’re not getting an F’in discount» so I hung up and went to bed with no dinner my guests left also unfed.
Worst part is i’m pretty sure the staff don’t care. No sorry, no food, no nothing.
I can’t possibly reccomend this place. Stay far away, absolutely brutal.

I ordered a large cheese pizza from them and it had a staple in it! And then they proceeded to give me attitude about it! Never again.

Server didn’t write the order down and SURPRISE SURPRISE!!! My order was wrong, my wifes salad came after her pasta (after we had the server double check the salad). The Manager was getting angry at the server in front of customers. Lady, save it for after the shift and let the server focus on serving. Looks like you guys should start hiring because one person doing cash, hosting, and serving is not enough
