So much yes is going on here! From their fresh daily soup paired with perfectly grilled panini to their rich desserts this place is a must. It is a bit on the higher end of the price tag but not too high. They are kid friendly but would really suggest this place for a lunch time gathering with friends. They make some nice hot beverages and there are many unique treats to take back to the office to share or snack on. There is a thin patio with good people watching. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They bring you your food after you order so it is sort of a combination of fast dining and restaurant dining with high quality food. I am definitely going back to try more of their soups, sandwiches and of course their incredible desserts!

Came here again on our stay at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Great little café located next to the lobby. Ordered two Café Lattes and my husband had the smoked salmon and avocado toast $ 16 (soft-boiled eggs /crushed avocado /«lox style» smoked salmon /truffled black pepper crema). He said it was delicious and tasted really fresh. Will return next time we are in Vancouver.

Go for the Classic sugar buns!!! To die for. Also tried the kale & chickpea salad which was a nice light lunch. Nice vibe, great food, also love the selection of jewelry and other cute trinkets for sale.

This is by far one of the most interesting cafés to to play tourist in. You start out in a coffee bar, then window shop the trinkets along the ramp up to the deli, and into the shop where you will find an array of high end gifts. And don’t forget to stop and admire the fridge off cured meats. One of Giovane’s signature items is the sugar bun. They offer a variety of flavors. The chocolate ganache is the best of them. G’s is too pricey for my tastes, but is a decent place for impressing/entertaining visitors. I would consider indulging in a sugar bun once in awhile, when I need a pick me up.

Love this quaint bakery! Perfectly situated within the Fairmont hotel(Pacific Rim), it had a variety of delicious pastries and tasty drinks. They had coffee as well as tea, including matcha green tea latte! Of course, being the die-hard fan of matcha that I am, I went for it everyday for four days! I also tried the mango loaf on one day and then the buttermilk scone on another day. The portion is quite big so you can survive on it for breakfast and lunch. They had lovely interior décor too. Great seats by the window for people-watching. Will definitely come here again if I come back to Vancouver!!!

Stumptown in Vancouver! A welcome contribution to the coffee scene in van. Much less pretentious and more laid back with an Italian vibe. Premium pastries, desserts and wholesale stumptown. Nestled inside the fairmont waterfront this place is a great alternative to the more hipster coffee scene like revolver. I also hope to check out their breakfast.

Best chocolate cake i have ever tasted in Vancouver so far! 5 star on their chocolate cake. 5 star on the customer service! I phoned them 2 days ago to ask them if i can place an order for a whole chocolate cake. Specifically I asked if i can request for the cake to be less sweet. The amount of sugar to be reduced half if possible, as this cake is for a dear friend who has diabetes. I know it is a difficult request as i have asked a few other bakeries and they just refused to compromise. The staff(Barbara, a very pleasant girl) who was on the phone with me, she said she would go ask the chef(baker) if this can be done. She called me back right away and said yes they can make the chocolate cake half the sweetness just for me. The chocolate cake turned out to be super tasty! It was moist and yummy. It was just awesome! Damn I forgot to ask the name of the chef /baker. But you know you did a fabulous job! We also tried their sugar bun(carrot cake) when we went to pick up the cake which was awesome too!

I adore this place. I used to live nearby and would stop by every few days. I feel comfortable coming here and eating alone(which is rare because normally I feel awkward doing so in other places.) You will often find people coming in to dine alone with a glass of wine and food in the early evening. It’s a very relaxed environment. It’s very spacious in here and seating is spread out enough so that you have your own personal space. Their desserts are delicious and so are their drinks. Their pizza is SOGOOD! The crust is ultra thin and the pizza itself is full of flavour without tasting like it’s full of salt which is refreshing. I love stopping by in the evening, it’s really relaxing. I’ve met a few friends in this café over the past few years which is why I have such fond memories here. Service is great. I don’t know what it is, but everyone is always friendly at Giovane. I feel so happy coming here. I highly recommend this place!

Walked past this place many times in the past, and even had my pic taken standing beside the ‘G’ outside its doors.(G for Glen. Get it?). Today we stopped in and had desserts. Was just what we needed. I had a pecan tart with a glass of milk, and my partner has this cinnamon cream puff type of thingy that was amazeballs. Next time we go back I’m having what he had.

Been here for coffee several times. Located inside Pacific Rim Fairmont. Cute little café. That also has a section that sales cute gifts for kids. Both times I was here I’ve had the coffee, regular brewed and a latte and both times tasted great. I’ve also had their almond croissant. Very tasty, a little harder than Im use to but once you get to the middle it softens up. Yummy! I like the seating areas, I like to seat where I can watch people walk by. They also have outside seating right beside the cute yellow scooter.

This review is based SOLELY on their coffee(lattes) & few pastries that I’ve tried. Located at the base of the Fairmont Pacific Rim, and marked with a yellow letter«g» on the outside, this is my new go-to place for coffee when I’m in Vancouver. Their lattes are EXCEPTIONAL, not too sweet(like most Starbucks drinks), and can be made with soy, or almond milk. My new favourite is their holiday edition latte: white chocolate peppermint, delicious! Their pastries are not only nice to look at, but tasty as well! Highly recommend for a meeting with girlfriends, or a coffee stop before walking along the water…

Came in for a tea latte with friends. I loved the fancy water and kate spade stuff for sale! My chai latte was barely warm when I got it, in a for here mug and it didn’t sit around at all waiting for me. I used to work as a barista and I would say it was«kids temp» it was barely above room temp.

This is good place for coffee or tea when in the coal harbour area. Recently, the coffee is much improved as they switched to Stumptown coffee roasters. Stumptown is American Westcoast business from Portland. It is very good coffee. Giovane also make a very good matcha latte. Their other teas are very good too and sourced from a Vancouver company( ). It can get a bit busy around lunch times, other times not too busy. The food can be good or bad depending on what you have. The bathrooms are among the best in downtown located in the hotel lobby of Fairmont hotel. The space is well designed and very modern.

Now it’s my favorite place in the neighborhood. Comfortable to be by yourself or with someone else. I had brunch and lunch there-delicious! Looking forward to try other things on the menu and famous on Unilocal sugar bun.

Not so much to say about this place since I just tried a salad, but So far it is a good café. i had Panzanella salad and I loved it. Very tasty. Thing that I didn’t like: a too pricey for a small amount of salad. Friendly staff, cozy environment, good location.

I really like this place for the atmosphere. When I’m in Downtown, I often come here for a sit down dessert and hot beverage. I also love visiting the Candy Bar section of their café. I just have to forewarn you that the customer service is not always consistent. About 90% of the time I am here, the staff have been welcoming and nice. A few times, I’ve been greeted by a tired and nonchalant girl. But one time, there was a girl who actually said the word«Oh f*ck» when another staff told her to clean the table. It was during the summer time of 2014. I guess with summer students, you can’t always control your turnover of staff, but I probably should have reported that to the manager at the time! Aside from random staff behavior, I love the place and the Candy Bar.

Now serving Stumptown beans instead of 49th parallel. If I was just commenting on espresso like my previous reviews, this would be a 2-star. They’re inconsistent and watered down. However, the paninis and soups are quite good, pastries excellent, dinner specials decent, albeit, a bit pricey. If you’re gonna go, get the Stumptown cold brew on tap. But, honestly, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here unless it was for a dessert and a cold brew. Sorry guys, it’s been years now. And I know Stumptown has reps to train your baristas. Make it happen!

This place is glorious — not sure there’s another word for it. Totally stumbled upon it when exhausted after 14 hours of travel, and I was like a kid in a candy shop. Not ONLY are their scones absolute perfection(and I don’t like scones, and am a baker), but they’re drinks are lovely, their pastry case mind boggling, and their sandwiches outstanding. Definitely the best ham and cheese I’ve ever had. Caramelized onions! No joke! Add in the fact that it’s part gift shop and part gourmet italian food market, G alone could make me want to move to Vancouver. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but when a man who I can only guess was Giovane himself asks you in a thick italian accent if you want to try some cheese… you say yes, and ignore the few extra $ you’re paying for deliciousness. It’s worth it.

Hands down one of the best places if you love desserts and looking for a coffee place with good ambience, well dressed patrons and good service. I have been to this café on numerous occasions and have to say have always had great service and delicious treats. The décor is very chic, west coast meets the local coffee shop with great lighting fixtures and comfortable chairs. The mugs are specifically gigantic, if you order any of their teas you will get one and tend to remind me of the Central Perk coffee shop in ‘Friends’. The desserts are all amazing, my favourite would have to be dulce de leche caramel budino and chocolate croissants are also one the best you can find in the city. I have also tried their dinner options, the egg pizza which was equally satisfying and perfect size for one. Needless to say this is my neighbourhood coffee joint and I’m happy to get my sweet cravings satisfied here!

This is a really nice change from every other coffee shop. It has different décor, aligning with the hotel. They have a variety of unique sweet treats. The desserts are not typical at all. The price is also a bit higher but it’s a great place to enjoy an evening of dessert and coffee. The service is friendly. You line up to order your coffee and dessert. In that way, it’s like any coffee shop. If you like coffee and dessert definetly put this spot on your list of places to try!
