Godiva used to be a place for top-notch chocolates. Not anymore. With aggressive expansion, the quality has dropped significantly while prices have risen in equal fashion. Don’t get me wrong, the chocolate isn’t bad, it’s just not what you’d expect either for the price or if you’ve had them more than 5 years ago. It’s about on par with Purdy’s for taste which is completely nonsensical given the steep prices. This particular location is snooty with a capital SNOOT. 3 employees, 1 other customer and we were completely ignored for the 4 minutes we could bear to be in the store. If you would rather we not be in the store, CONGRATULATIONS! Achievement unlocked! We will not be returning, at least to this location. PS. Don’t leave the cabinet to the chocolate dipping station open and unattended. Any yahoo could walk by and drop a loogie if they so choose.

I walked by and saw a sign for what I thought would be a delicious chocolate milkshake called Truffelata. I chose the Chocolate Lava flavour, I thought it would be good and strong. She mentioned that they take the Chocolate Lava truffle and mix it into the beverage. She did this with some ice and then put it in the blender. The drink was topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce it was about $ 6. It was okay. I kept sucking up bits of something(the truffle, ice) and I was not found of that. I was expecting something smooth like a milkshake, but its not. I did not finish it.

I’ve been to almost every Godiva Store in the city, therefore, the reviews for each will be the same. I come here to buy gifts for other people, not for myself ’cause it’s name recognition more than anything. Truthfully their chocolates are nothing to write home about but they’re not bad either. I’ve been to private mom and pop shops that have way better chocolates. The prices for the chocolates are way too expensive for what they are. You can get similar quality at Purdy’s. Once again it is a name recognition thing which is why I will buy things here and there for other people. I have been gifted Godiva chocolates every year but never do I actually spend money on myself here. Customer service as with the other locations has always been friendly.

Still doesn’t have my favourites compared to Purdy’s: the toffee or the ice cream bar ;) But today, they were giving out their dark chocolate truffles, whole pieces ;) Not bitter enough nor sweet but can’t be too picky. Kinda impressed they offered kosher chocolates too.

Godiva Chocolatier is used to be a top-notch for fine chocolate and truffles. For last decade, it becomes chain chocolate stores in North American and I find their chocolate just above average now. Well… whenever I still craving for a chocolate, I still go there and get some truffles.

Complete turnover! Loved the service in their other stores so I visited this one. BIG mistake! Almost downright snobby people guarding the place. Being in a nicer mall does not translate into upping the snootiness factor.

3.5 stars. I used to be sold on the fabulous packing and pretty layout of the Godiva stores and bought a lot of my chocolates from this chain. I’ve since learned that there are much better chocolates out there and Godiva is just better packaged«chain» chocolate. I’m now finishing the holiday truffles boxes and the chocolate is A-OK. Packaging and service at this location is definitely 4 stars, but chocolates are just above average. Still a solid spot for gifts that will please, but I’d suggest another brand for the chocolate snob — Godiva is too mass produced to retain that freshness that makes good chocolate truffles so amazing!

Oompa Loompa doom-pa-dee-do Remember Augustus Gloop from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Sure, you do. augustus was the spoiled rotten, gluttonous kid who fell into the milk chocolate river in the factory, despite warnings of danger. Well, this is nothing less than one of the great forbidden love scenes of all time. I imagine I am a svelte girl version of Augustus and the river is Godiva Chocolate. I would so go for a dip. Really good chocolate is simply bliss and Godiva is really good chocolate. Covet Crave Indulge Enjoy!
