Originally we wanted to go for tacos but the place was packed, so we needed another place quick and fast because we were starving. So glad we happened across this restaurant. I love middle eastern food, and this place is pretty tasty! I ordered their chicken plate which was fairly generous. It came with delicious rice, and even tastier chicken and a salad with tons of parsley which was the perfect compliment to the flavourful rice and chicken. That’s what I love about middle eastern food, its like a taste adventure for your mouth. This plate was savory, fresh, tangy and very satisfying. I love it when things don’t go to according to plan, you end up finding gems like this! St3Fin

Tried this place out after walking past it twice daily on my way to/from work. The price seemed a tad high considering you only get the wrap, no fries unless you pay extra. I got a can of pop to go with my donair and when I took it out of the cooler the top was covered in dirt/grime so I had to wash it off before I drank it. The donair itself was alright. The beef/lamb was taken out of a metal container instead of carved fresh from the spit. The veggies were also looking as though they had seen better days. As for the donair itself, I thought it was just«meh». Lacking in flavour and it seemed to be slathered with thousand island dressing. I would have preferred tzatziki. I don’t think I’ll eat here again unless they put a little more care into the business.

If you spell Donner like Donair on your sign expect some maritime Canadian to walk into your establishment looking for a true Donair(Halifax style). Last week on Broadway that’s exactly what happened with the company I was with and that poor little lobster fishing, funny talking Boyo walked out disappointed with not finding his culinary love, but being pretty happy with his exotic one night food stand at Happy Donair. The wrap was pretty tasty with a bit of spice and, strangely enough, had fries inside… I’ll be back but my Maritimer buddy won’t.

I go here fairly regularly for their ‘Chicken Plate’ and I have never been disappointed. I cannot speak to the size/quality of their DONAIRS, but their plates are really yummy. Rice is some of the best in town, and the chicken is always perfectly sliced and packed full of flavour. $ 9 bucks buys my dinner here.

hmmm, the 5 star reviews to this place seem a little suspect. me thinks they may be pumping up their own jam. Nevertheless, I actually did grab a chicken shwarma from the place, and it’s «ok». However, not even close to what you can get at Falafel King on Davie. I mean Falafel King, is the actual Falafel King. But this place is ok in a pinch. It’s not as tasty as it should be, but the service is exceedingly friendly and if you’re walking by looking for a Falafel(and really, who isn’t), it’s okay to try. I wouldn’t make a special trip though. I would to Falafel King however…

* Balkan fast food * The bright red sign outside( ) advertised, «Balkan Style Food» so I had to pop in to this new spot. The menu was a fairly typical donair spot menu, with the exception of kebache on the menu. So I, of course, had to order the kebache plate. These half beef & half pork sausages were nicely caramelized on the grill and had a fresh taste to them overall. They were topped with a spicy sauce which gave a nice kick. Photo: The plate came with rice(which was slightly undercooked but well seasoned), some tabouleh, sliced cabbage, pickled peppers, cucumber pickles, fresh cucumbers, onions, and some tomato slices. On the side was a bowl of fries as well, which were slightly undercooked but nicely seasoned without being too salty. Photo: Overall the kebache were the highlight of the meal, having a nice charred caramelized flavour mixed with the fresh meat heartiness. Service was very friendly as well, and they seemed to care what you thought of the food. Hopefully as they work through their opening they expand the menu to have a bit more Balkan flare to it. I’ll likely be back when in the area to see how they develop the menu.
