* There is more to Granville Island than the market * The majority of tourists visiting Granville Island visit the market, and never make it out of the market and miss some of the smaller offerings on the other parts of the island. Railspur alley is one of those spots that is a bit quieter, and while still a little touristy seems to cater a bit more to local tourists and local shoppers. Hartman is a leather workshop that offers handcrafted leather belts, wallets, and bags. They have a nice selection and are priced really reasonably for handcrafted. Most of the items are made right there in the workshop. Picked up a really nice handmade belt that was a very high quality leather with nice workmanship for just $ 40! For that price in the department stores you would get a mass produced belt of much lower quality. Quite happy to support a local business as well! So venture out of the market and explore the little offerings around the island — you might be pleasantly surprised!
