This place has pricey maternity clothes and salespeople who will.track.your.every.move. That said, the clothes are fairly high quality(even if they all demand hand-washing!) and the people are nice enough.

Solid 3.75 stars to support local businesses. Like the fact they’re Canadian made too. All women’s. some nice jewellery in the center. Bamboo tops for $ 55… A handy clearance sale rack on the right side, with $ 10,20 and 30 signs. Friendly service. No AMEX.

Buy with caution! This store has a very poor return policy. No refunds, they will only give store credit and only up to seven days. In addition, I’ve had only a 50% success rate with the clothes I’ve bought there. The quality really varies. They look great initially, but fray or pill very easily. I won’t return.

I came in here to try and find some stuff for m girlfriend who is pregnant and I was a bit put off by the customer service in spite of the fashions being reasonable.

This store was a breath of fresh air after trying to shop at Motherhood. The prices are definitely higher than Thyme or Motherhood(on average $ 70-$ 80 for tops, and $ 90+ for pants), but the quality, fit and comfort of the clothing is much better. I should also mention that the majority of the clothing they carry is designed and manufactured right here in Vancouver, and little if any seems to be from sweatshops in third world countries. If you manage to catch a sale, you can actually do quite well, price-wise. I got pants for $ 20 and a couple of gorgeous dresses for $ 50 and $ 60 respectively! The clothing here is stylish and classy. Great stuff for business or special occasions, or if you just like to dress nicely during pregnancy and have some cash to spare ;) Staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, without being pushy or suffocating. Overall a great store. I will be back.

Love browsing in here. Some great maternity pieces which are fashionable and not matronly at all. Great work essentials– love their pants. They carry some unique brands that you can’t find at the other mat stores.

Given the number of higher-end maternity stores that have closed lately in Vancouver, Hazel is about all that’s left if you’re looking for a wider selection of maternity wear. Unlike Thyme or Motherhood Maternity, Hazel does carry some work clothes — suit jackets and skirts — in addition to casual clothing. They also carry formal wear, which can be a lifesaver if you need to go to an event while pregnant. Of course, you will pay more than you would at Motherhood or Thyme, and the clothes are only maybe one notch better; they still have a lot of cheap-looking polyester, much like the other two cheaper stores. They do carry high end jeans(Paige), though, if you’re in the mood to spend hundreds of dollars for jeans. One caution, though: if you were above size 10 before you got pregnant, you aren’t likely to find much at Hazel. I was size 12 –14(taller, long legs) before I got pregnant, and over multiple visits to Hazel I tried on a lot of clothes and yet never could find anything that fit properly. Their XL clothes(many seemed to be Australian lines) were small on me. Back in their store on Cambie, they advertised in the windows that they carried clothes for«every body.» Unfortunately, apparently Hazel thinks every body is smaller than size 12 — if you’re larger, I’d recommend a trip to the Gap maternity section in the Seattle store.
