In and out of the Marpole hood for years and I always stop at the Hudson Grocery. You can pretty much find everything you need there or a reasonable facsimile. Speaking of facsimiles they even do old school faxing! It’s all about the staff and the owner though — super nice people who exemplify the type of customer service all corner stores should provide. If I needed to pick something up on the way home, I used to go out of my way to stop there during my commute between Vancouver and Surrey just because they’ve got that whole friendly, homey customer service thing going on.

I must give this little store 4 stars because they have saved my buns on numerous occasions. The Twin brothers that run this place are really funny and helpful. They have a little bit of everything and it is our favorite place to grab munchies like chips, soda, and ice cream. Yeah, it has convenience store prices but when you REALLY need that can of black olives for the Greek salad you are making, it helps that they are just a few blocks away. :D

It’s a little corner store. I’ve walked by it for years but have only been inside twice. It looks like a quiet area, but they must get enough business: they have packaged sandwiches available, and I met 3 other parties during the short time I was there. Ice cream, milk, chips, pop, chocolate: the regular stuff. Nothing too perishable like vegetables. $ 5 minimum for Debit, no Credit. Large chips, 2L pop and chocolate bar for $ 9: I guess regular«convenience store» prices.
