Ian Low, DDS

I am from the States and was having my first Dental Appointment in Canada. My Dentist in the States was very good, so whomever I chose here had some pretty big shoes to fill. I chose Dr. Low because of his Unilocal Reviews and the proximity of his office to my home. I made an appointment for 9:30 AM in the morning when they opened for myself and my husband.
The office was very clean and the receptionist was very polite and friendly. We were greeted warmly when we arrived. After completing the initial forms, we were immediately greeted by our Hygienist. I received a very, very (did I say very?) thorough cleaning. The Hygienist was friendly and made me feel very comfortable. She explained what she was doing and kept checking on me to maintain my comfort.
Dr. Low came in to check my teeth after my cleaning. He was very friendly and had a warm personality. I am glad we chose this Dentist. I will be a permanent customer.

I was recommended here by a friend a long time ago — already a good sign.
He’s still my dentist for a reason — Doctor Low is very professional and friendly at the same time.

Let’s be clear about 5-​star dental experiences, shall we? Dentists, like mechanics, are in this crazy position of power where what they say, goes.
«Oh the transfigubalater in the deceleratrix is broken? And it’s gonna cost $ 4224 plus labour and taxes? Oh… well, if you say so, person in coveralls.»
Replace the coveralls with a couple of rubber dams (outta the gutter, kids) and the deceleratrix with a I4 incisor and we’re in the exact same position, but in a highly sterilized office rather than a building you probably wouldn’t really want to put even a plastic bag down in.
Hence, the 5-​star rating. Trust is essential when it comes to services like these, which is why I love Dr. Low. His office is not in the most convenient of all locations (unless you happen to live in Kerrisdale, which I don’t and won’t), but he’s exactly what I look for in an essential service provider.
Honest, ridiculously friendly (but not annoyingly so), and will do his best to save my poor sugar-​loving teeth, Dr. Low is like gold grills in the ghetto: totally bomb.
