Great store for their distinctive offerings in the Bulk section! I needed raw almonds with skin removed; they provided it. The raw almonds were for a vegan cheese recipe I wanted to try. I bought my own CLEAN measuring cup to dole out exactly enough almonds to re-make the recipe a few more times; the cashier had no issue with it(just make sure you use a visibly clean cup). I made three visits so far with my most recent trip including raw cashews(to make vegan fettuccine), using my clean cup. Kudos to the friendly lady working as the front-line cashier!

Been here twice to get ingredients for a Moroccan Lamb Chili and twice felt pretty unwelcome. I’m not sure if it was because I was a single woman shopping alone or Caucasian and clearly not muslim or the owner was just grumpy but I won’t go back. Today I came in for ground lamb and probably would have bought some other things like almonds and chickpeas but as soon as I asked for the lamb the owner directed me to the front to check out without asking if I needed anything else. I’m sure I can get ground lamb somewhere else but if I were treated with a little more courtesy I’d probably shop here a lot. Skip it, spend your money where you are appreciated. I’m sure there are plenty of middle eastern places that are happy to have your business, this isn’t one of them.

I need to spend more time shopping in this store. There is a great selection of dry goods. I mostly only use the deli and butcher. I like the marinated meats, the olives, and the feta. Prices are really good.

Service was mediocre, which has been covered by many before me. What my problem is, were the samosas. I bought both meat and veggie samosas to accompany an Indian meal I was making. Heated them up at home and when I bit into the meat version, I immediately spit it back out. It tasted like somebody had taken a greasy sh! t in my mouth. I can’t even begin to describe what it was I was tasting. Hoping that it was only the meat variety, I very carefully sampled the veggie next. Same results. Apparently they fill their samosas with concentrated evil that has been dipped in motor oil.

I’ve never had a problem with service here. 6 packs of fresh pita bread are $ 1.25, which is the main thing I buy here. Also has small jars of tahini and harissa which are hard to find other places.

— Nice selection of products — Fresh meet /Chicken — Nice Middle Eastern goods — The older man helped me to find some products. — Good neighborhood — Receipt doesn’t have list of what you took. Just total price — Cheese products are expensive relative to other places

Solid 3.5 stars, nice neighborhood market. Good selection of Middle Eastern boxed goods and teas, on left side. Even a few Asian snacks, such as the sesame Chewies. Bought my first mediterranean version of Orange Crush, as per pic haha. Meat is in the back. Good service, credit cards OK.

If you’re a woman, don’t come here. If you are from another race or don’t read the Q’ran, don’t come here. Basically, if you are not related to the rude pricks who run this place or share the same blood, you will be treated in the most disrespectful way and made sure you feel unwelcomed to ensure you’ll never return. The son needs a good slap in the head. Show some respect and do not throw my change at me when I was only being nothing but nice to you. This is Canada, this is Main Street, if you wish to spread hate and discriminate, you have no business setting up a retail front in the service industry.

Don’t go there!!! attitude, politics and nationalism… It’s true the store carries a variety of expensive goods, but what makes your shopping experience worse is the staff there, including the owner and his kids, they are disrespectful careless and have attitude they’ll ask you where do you come from, then start talking politics and things really you don’t wanna hear in such a beautiful city as Vancouver. These people are intruders and giving bad reputation to middle eastern the staff are not helpful and will make you feel like you are not welcome.

previous reviews were pretty accurate. great selection of products but a bit of an attitude. having said that, it’s a bit«soup nazi”-like attitude which i find hilarious so hoorah! i went in looking for nothing in particular. just snooping around. a great selection of spices, meats in the back, cheeses, olives and things i have never seen before. love it. only ended up with some haloumi but i’ll be back. the guy at the cash was yelling back and forth with the butcher about not putting a price on the chicken. the entertainment factor alone was worth the trip. i’ll be back…

I come here for a couple of things, even though there is so much more. Bulgur wheat and za’atar spice. Prices for this is pretty good along with a bunch of other spices and stuff that I like to get. This is a grocery store with an emphasis on middle eastern goods and spices

By far the BEST Mediterranean Store i’ve been to in such a long time. All the other Mediterranean Store dont add up to this one. There service is great, there meats are spectacular, its a pretty nice store, and the products they sell are the best. When i went there last week i got some Zaatar(Thyme spice mix), the Lebanese Tahini(which is the best), Olives, nuts, some spices, and greek cheese. When i went to check out the person at the register was really friendly and smart and he gave me a recipe for the Zaatar. I’m defintly coming back to this place!!!

All the bulk goodness you can imagine for such a seemingly teensy place. TONS of spices, for super cheap. LOADS of dried beans in big bags. They have my fave Guru Lucky Balti Snack Mix, so I rediscovered that treat! Initially, I planned to visit here in search of rosewater, since my friend said they carried some in bottles. I found so much more than I had bargained for, and will return soon for some bulk spices and specialty items.

Their meats are good and all, but I’ve stopped coming here for severe lack of service. Last visit the lady at the meat counter looked at me, didn’t say a word, then disappeared. The older guy who usually does cash, usually doesn’t even say a word to me. Not even a thank you, come on!

The minute I walked in, the familiar array of spices created an aroma that brought me back to my childhood of shopping on Main street grocery shopping with my mom. Walking through the isles was like a cultural culinary museum. Decent prices in the area. I was intimidated walking in and felt an uncomfortable aura as though I had no business walking in their, however, after 20 minutes, was able to shrug it off. I found this place during Car free day.

Jasmine Halal — quite intimdating from the outside, even more intimidating when you walk thru the front door, but once you have mustered up the courage to make your way to the meat department in the back end of the store, you are now worthy. The last hurdle is asking the Butcher for what you need — pretty much the same vibe as the front cashier, but totally worth it. I love my boyz at Windsor, but when I need chicken wings, ground chicken and lamb, this is the place to go. Excellent quality and great prices.

I pick up a few regular items here like pitas, samosa’s(only $ 1.35) but the real kicker here is the LAMBPRICES. Calling all lamb lovers, it does not get any better or any cheaper anywhere! I pick up 4 large shanks for around $ 10. Try doing that anywhere else in the city! the best and I love the owner and staff. Something about supporting a nice local business and getting value doing it just makes me feel good

Super friendly service. The best feta cheese in town. Wonderful array of interesting ingredients. I felt like I was at a family grocery store and that makes me a fan!

Jasmine Halal is practically a supermarket of Mediterranean foods: an excellent meat counter complements an extensive collection of Middle Eastern breads; a truly amazing selection of frozen foods complements beautifully prepared foods like olive, pickles, sun-dried tomatoes in oil, as well as great sweets and spices. Of particular note is their very good variety of honeys. In addition, excellent kitchen wares, hookahs, and what-have-you. If you’re eating well, halal is always a good bet. As with kosher, you’re typically getting your meat from a small-market, closely regulated source. It’s almost a truism that Muslims have the best butchers.

* Middle Eastern foods, and a whole lot more! * I’ve passed by this spot many times and never went inside. What a mistake! There is such a lovely selection of products here and they are really reasonably priced. They have a nice selection of Persian breads similar to those you can find in North Vancouver’s markets. There is also a large selection of olives, feta, halal meats, bulk nuts, dried fruits, halva, turkish delight, etc., etc. Some of the nice items I spotted today include: — fig jam — rose jam — mint water — rose water — dill water — fresh halva — huge variety of dates And then some non-Middle Eastern selections too including: — reasonably priced fresh tortillas($ 2.29 for 1.2 kg!!!) — bulk macademia nuts And the find of the day: — a HUGE and reasonably priced selection of Garofalo pasta(my favourite dried pasta from Italy!) I’m a big fan of this store and will definitely be returning often!
