Great deal for lunch, the special includes a very good spring roll and thoughtful salad that had dragon fruit and apple. I had the green curry and the portion while nicely presented was small, definitely a light lunch. The inside is nice, with cloth napkins and heavy cutlery, more than I was expecting for $ 11.50

Food is delicious, service is friendly and fast and prices are reasonable. Best Thai food I’ve had in Vancouver. I’ve been coming here since it opened. Consistently great!

Another terrific meal at Jitlada. Once again, Pam and her staff were the best. We highly recommend this restaurant for a delightful meal, a great glass of wine and a terrific visit with Pam. You have to try it.

One of my friends and I have totally different tastes in food. Or more like she’s super picky and I am down to try everything, and the only thing we happen to have in common is our love for Thai food. We always go to a new place every time we meet up in our attempt to explore our Thai options to the best of our abilities. We came to Jitlada since we could just take the 99 over from campus. There reviews seemed pretty good as well, so we were pretty excited. To be honest I was a little confused about this place. We ordered the pad thai and a fried rice, and both were just OK. I wasn’t sure if ti was an off day or if we were just not able to appreciate the food since the reviews were so good. The service was great, the lady was so nice. The atmosphere was also pretty nice too. I just didn’t really love the food. It was nothing bad but nothing amazing either? Maybe I’ll have to give this place another try.

Had Pad Thai two nights in a row from this place. Need I say more?

Good service — prompt and friendly. Good pad Thai and green curry. Reasonably priced. The harshest critic in our group voted 3⁄5 for the spicy beef so we consulate at 4 stars. Would give it 4.5 if we could.

I’ve been meaning to try Jitlada and finally made it here for dinner on a Friday night. The space is well appointed unlike most Thai restaurants I have tried. I have to admit that the place felt quite classy! The tasteful décor complete with fancy menus and wine glasses(not of the cheap banquet style) filled us with much anticipation. Sadly, the food did not live up to our expectations. While the presentation made our mouths water, the bold flavours I’ve come to know of Thai cuisine were just not there. Don’t get me wrong, the food was alright, but for the steep prices I really expected more. Note: We were tempted by the stuffed chicken wings. While the preparation is somewhat unique, it didn’t blow us away and $ 12 for 2 wingettes simply wasn’t worth it. Service was great, but I’ve had better value and flavour elsewhere. I hate to give them 2.5 star, but I’m really doubtful we will return.

One of the best«traditional» thai restaurants I have ever been to in Vancouver! The flavour and spice we’re amazing in each dish we tried, which made the meal feel extremely authentic and different from the local«Thai chains», dispersed throughout the city. Only downside was that it was a Tuesday, and the restaurant was extremely quiet for our liking. However, our server(and I believe owner), was very pleasant, gracious and kind. We would like to try this restaurant on a busier week-end for a date-night.

The food and service at Jitlada is amazing. We tried a host of dishes which were all great. Each dish was cooked to perfection, succulent and flavorful. We particularly enjoyed the Jitlada Aroy-D Prawn. The service was wonderful as well, personable and attentive without trying too hard. Nice ambience in an intimate setting. Great for a date or a staff or group lunch.

I work near by the restaurant and have been here many times. They have set lunch for $ 12.50 including tax and tips. The set lunch includes a spring roll and an entrée. The food is very tasty and very flavorful. The owner is very nice and she would always greet us and make sure we are enjoying our meal. As well she has a humor.

A rare gem in Vancouver! And by that I mean it’s rare to find a Thai restaurant where the presentation, food, service and ambiance are all top notch. Great spot for a quick lunch, but do take the time to linger over dinner. Well worth checking out the Special Creations. (Also of note, and something that I will make mention of in all future reviews, no bloody annoying televisions! Restauranteurs… I will boycott your television-blasting restaurant. I do not want to see it, and I most certainly do not want to hear it. Grr. Hiss.)

I enjoy having a meal every time I go there. Pam takes very good care of the tables and she’s very attentive. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the ambience is serene and relaxing. The plates are smaller compared to typical Thai restaurants, but they are all flavourful. I took my mom there and we had three dishes. I liked larb salad. It was something different and very tasty. I definitely want to come back and try other dishes.

I went here recently with my mom who was visiting from out of town. She has probably ordered panang curry over 100 times in her life; she even ordered it from a different restaurant on the same trip. But this was by far the best panang curry either of us has ever had. In fact, this was the best thai food I have ever had, hands down. Not too spicy and very authentic tasting. The quality of the food was superior to other thai restaurants I have been to in the city. The owner was very attentive and kind. I will definitely be back to try more of the dishes — everything looked so amazing! And there were a few dishes I had never seen before.(Ie. seafood curry served in a coconut, stuffed chicken wings etc.) Great place for a date night also! Candles for dinner service, quite romantic.

I came here after being denied a table at the mostly empty Greek restaurant just down the street.(Apparently single diners aren’t welcome there) Absolutely lovely restaurant. Beautiful décor, perfect layout for both the comfort of customers and the servers. Food was decent and fresh and very reasonably priced. Only $ 14 for Pad Thai. :)

Wanted to try this place as I’ve heard good reviews. This used to be the old ‘Cru’ restaurant on Broadway. Went here with a friend and we both liked it alot. The coconut rice was really good, my friend said it was the best she’s had and she’s usually a little pickier. The service was great, I believe it was the owner going around serving us. We went on a Friday and every table was reserved except for 1, which we luckily got. We ordered their Golden Angel Wings(stuffed chicken) to start. This was so delicious, my friend and I would have ordered another but we had two more dishes coming and rice. The way they stuffed it and the ingredients used gave it a real delicate taste. Next we got Gaeng Kiew-Wan(green curry with chicken). It had the right amount of heat, coconut milk, was very fragrant from the ingredients and great with the rice. Last we got Jitlada Aroy-D Beef: beef with spices on top of spinach. I thought the spinach would have been soggy since it was under the beef and sauce but surprisingly, the spinach wasn’t limp or overcooked. I for sure thought the heat from the sauce and beef would continue to cook the spinach but it didn’t. They cooked the spinach just enough so that when we got it and started to eat, it was just right. One thing you should keep in mind is that this is place is a bit fancier than other Thai places so the price reflects that. The dishes were fabulous but the size is smaller than other Thai places. I don’t mind paying a bit more for better tasting food than lower price for ‘just OK’ food. If you go, remember that you’re paying for quality, not quantity.

Clean and modern looking restaurant, very friendly service, and delicious food. My only complaint was that it was expensive for Thai food, totalling just under $ 70 for two people before tips. The portions, as noted by others, were a bit smaller than expected, but we still had food to take home for one person’s meal. We had three dishes: the lobster mango salad, pad thai with chicken, and the hormok talay(seafood curry) with a side of coconut rice. Each dish was presented beautifully, and the flavours were great. My favourite was the hormok talay for its uniqueness and perfect spice level. The pad thai was good but I would sooner try something else next time. I ordered the Thai iced tea because another reviewer recommended it. I was anticipating something light and refreshing but instead realized that it was a milk tea, with the tea being quite concentrated. I wouldn’t get that drink again. I was surprised that we were the only dinner guests from 6:30 — 8:00pm on a Tuesday night, but I guess it’s a bit of a random neighbourhood, being near Granville & Broadway(busy for people on transit) but tucked in between Memphis Blues and Vera’s. It’s easy to miss Jitlada when you’re walking down the street. I live somewhat close to the area and have never noticed it, and the owner informed us that they’ve been there for two years. What really made it a memorable experience was the owner’s kindness and warmth. It was like chatting with a friend’s mom. I will probably go back with a group of 3 – 4 so that we can try more dishes and spend less per person. Also, for people who park there – make sure you pay for parking and read the parking signs. We didn’t encounter any issues but were told that the parking meters are vigilantly checked until 10pm and that lots of cars get towed away during the rush hour.

We went to Jitlada Thai located in West Broadway for a birthday celebration. It’s a cozy little restaurant with very charming staff. We were greeted right away and this elegant lady in a beautiful floral dress handed us our menus. We ordered a round of Thai ice tea and Mango juice. I absolutely adore their Thai ice tea! Refreshing and it hit the spot after a long day at work. We ordered some appetizers to share. The spring rolls and the chicken satay were amazing, highly recommend it. We also ordered their boneless stuffed chicken wings, which were a little unexpected, the flavour was very good, but I personally didn’t like the texture, I think if the chicken wing itself was crispy or deep-friend it would have been tastier. For our main course we shared a Pad Thai with shrimp. The lady of the house recommended this and told us that they used tamarind and cane sugar for the sourness of the dish, which for me was a delicious The last dish we shared was a Spicy Tofu and Green Bean dish which got gobbled down really fast, because it was delicious with a hint of chilies. I need to mention the service of Jitlada because it was awesome! Throughout our whole meal the lady of the house gave us impeccable service. I think this was what made our meal so enjoyable, she was attentive to us and her other customers. She greeted everyone like they were old friends of hers and she knew how to make everyone laugh. She talked to us like we’ve ate at her restaurant many times, which made all of us feel very welcomed. Throughout the whole dinner she had no idea that we were at her restaurant because of P’s birthday celebration, but once she found it — she surprised us and P! The lady of the house surprised us with a beautiful dessert of ice cream and fried bananas — now that was a great ending to our night. The Birthday Girl got to blow out the candles and make her wish.

Was in the area and decided to come here on a whim. Had never heard of it before reading the Unilocal reviews 5 minutes before I went for dinner. It’s a cozy little restaurant with contemporary looking décor and comfortable seating. I have bad posture and the booths(or half-booths, I guess) are conducive to slouching. Sat by the window, which has nice natural light — conducive to seeing your food and people-watching. We ordered Pad Thai, Jitlada Garden(or whatever the vegetable dish is called), and the coconut lemongrass soup with chicken and mushrooms — all decent but nothing to write home about. Portion size is smaller than the average Thai restaurant, but I left feeling full. Total came to $ 50 after tax and tip. I would have enjoyed dinner more if the server had smiled, the service were prompter, and our waters were brought within the first 15 minutes after being seated. Overall, a solid 2.5 stars. I would come back, if in the area.

Jitlada was on my bookmarked list for awhile. I had no plan on the day off and craving for Thai food. Therefore, I just went there for lunch by myself. I guess most of food pictures were taken by photographer! It’s really attractive and beautiful. Of coz, I was quite disappointed on my dish. I ordered a lunch special which simple food — Pad Thai served with spring roll and salad. The spring roll was ok but a bit bland. Pad Thai was very spicy, few tiny shrimp in it and the portion of dish too small! Salad was so watery and not much sauce on it. The service was excellent, the waiter was friendly and attentive. However, I didn’t enjoy the food. The price is totally not worth to the food.
