Good coffee, slow service. I love JJ Bean coffee but I often walk past this location because it can take over 5 minutes to get a small latte… good selection of baked treats, wraps, drinks and other snacks. They seem to be fully stocked even in the afternoon which is nice. Almond milk available for those looking for a milk substitute. Nice patio if you have time to hang out and enjoy a coffee with friends. Right on a corner so great for people and dog watching on a sunny day. Avoid during busy hours though, more than once my coffee or latte had a significant amount of grinds in it and milk wasn’t warm enough because they were so busy they try to pump orders out as fast as possible… One note: the washrooms can be pretty dirty… yes I know it’s a coffee place… but the staff should also realize that and be on top of cleaning. More than once both the stalls in the washroom were not useable and I had to call staff to tidy up even before being able to use it.

I come here often only because of the location and outdoor patio. That’s it. Of all the JJ Beans, I find this one the most pretentious, hipster, and often times rude(from staff). I never know which drink is mine. I’ve been given the wrong order several times. I’ve also asked for a Masala Tea here, twice(the name of their Chai tea, just tea, none of that syrup crap), and charged for a tea latte. When I’ve clarified, «No, I just want tea,» and point to the actual tea bags… Once I was told, «we don’t have that, so I charged you for a tea latte,»(uh, no, the tea is right there), and once we told, «oh, okay, you can have that» yet still charged me for the latte, which is $ 3 more. I don’t drink milk. I just don’t get it. So, come here for the beautiful patio, not the service.

Sure can tell I’m in Yaletown. Certainly not as friendly as the West End location. Doesn’t hurt to smile and thank the customer.

I have never had muffins as delicious as JJ’s muffins. Recently ran an experiment of bringing muffins to people to see if they would like them. Every single person asked for seconds.

JJ Beans has become one of me and my girlfriend’s favorite stop for coffee. The place is nice and clean, also offers a great environment if you’d like to just sit, study or read a book. But perhaps the most important thing about JJ Beans is that they consistently serve good quality coffee. Unlike many other coffee stores out there, consistency is sometimes an issue. And nothing feels worst than starting your day with an underwhelming cup of coffee. The barista’s at JJ Bean seem very really trained and really know how to make a good cup of coffee. We really did not know how important a barista was until we had an amazing cup of coffee at Starbucks once. Since then we’ve been a bit spoil with making sure we find the right coffee shop with trained baristas and we are just glad JJ Bean is a consistent place we can always go back to.

Best hot chocolate in Vancouver! We had it with a oatmeal cookie and almond croissant! They were both very delicious!

Sweet tooth ALERT! For only 3.60 $ I tried their fruit and nut pull-apart. Fluffy pastry filled with costar… Also the peach tart is to die for… Cheap too only 3.75 $ And their butter tart are insane as well. Still flawless costumers service Good vibes at all their location: Davie, West 1st, Alberni… Name-it!

We actually got a cappuccino at the Granville Island stall location within the Public Market. It was delicious, good flavor with a nice froth to the milk. Would come back again, or to any other JJ Bean location.

Coffee chain. This place broke my bias about coffee chains. If you are a latte holic and love strong coffee, you will love their latte. Strong espresso shot gives nice flavor to it and more importantly the staff provide coffee with consistancy so I enjoy my latte every time I get one. Nice foam not crazy bubbles like Sbux. I dropped by few days in a row on my way to work for a cup of latte every morning, but nobody informed me about their rewards card or asked me my name to build customer relationship. I understand due to its location they probably have lots of one time customers. Well, no problem. I researched and found out that, after you got their gift card to use, next time when you reload the gift card, they will give you extra 10% in your card. If you are a regular customer, it’s a good deal. Love this neighborhood.

The croissants here are some of the best in Yaletown. Fresh, flaky and buttery. And the espresso drinks are excellent. Strong and delish. No watered down drinks here! You can order a true machiatto — it’s short & a bit bitter but it’s authentic. There is a seating area upstairs with tables large enough for two people to comfortably sit at and that’s quite rare in this neighbourhood. I haven’t had any complaints about service. I once got a London fog minus the vanilla that makes it truly a London fog. I asked and they happily fixed the order. Complaints: the menu is a teeny tiny sheet of paper right at the counter. Ummmm yeah. That made me feel like a fool the first time or two, when I wanted to know what the choices were. I mean, of course it’s the same thing every other coffee shop offers… but I still like to see a menu. As others have noted, there are no power outlets. Boo. I’ll be back for the lattes and croissants

I’ve changed my mind. I’m now a big fan of JJ. Especially the beans. This is my stop of choice when it comes to buying fresh beans. I usually order 340 grams of Espresso JJ, which is enough to fill my hopper at home. The espresso brews up rich and creamy on my home machine. With the purchase of beans, I get a free coffee for my walk home. Better yet, I bring my own bag and they give me 50c off. Win-win.

Please open JJ bean in Alberta, because it would kick Starbucks that we have there to the curb. Never burnt coffee, nor is it bitter! Love how they use their French press, but the drip brew is always perfect. Also, try the breakfast bun! Its wonderful and savory!

This location is a pretty nice JJ Bean. They have the same menu as other JJ Beans(unsurprisingly), but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere is appropriately Yaletown. The interior is light and bright, and the design seems a bit swankier than other JJ Beans I’ve been to — fitting as it’s in Yaletown! I prefer my coffee shops a bit dingier, or more hipster — this one made me feel a little like I wouldn’t want to stay all day and work as it was quite fancy. The coffee was the usual tasty kind — definitely can’t fault them on that! And the staff were chatty but polite which is a great combo when there’s a line up — I felt valued but also didn’t feel impelled to keep the conversation going for too long. I’d come back for another business meeting — it’s a decent spot to chat and the coffee is great.

5-stars? Is that what I gave? No… I gave 5ROCKSTARS, because that’s who works at this JJ Bean. Rock Stars, every single one of them. And I’m their daily groupie, screaming from below the stage for one more song, one more note from their squealing steam machine rhythmically pumping away behind the counter. In the afternoon, when I’m running low, I raise my cheer once again and they never fail to deliver an encore espresso. This is a song I have on repeat.

This location is a bit odd in seating, lots of seating inside, limited seating inside with a store that has a similar«L» shape. Doesn’t encourage much for personal interaction. Pastries were limited.

I was there early 6am, the staff was alert and very upbeat, good energy and great aromas. I ordered a latte and a banana loaf– both of which were excellent. Would definitely come back.

Great coffee and pumpkin muffins. Basically, just another good coffee joint. Nothing screams exceptional except the pumpkin/apple muffin. It was FANTASTIC!!! Wish I had bought two, by twin 4 yr olds practically inhaled it. Service was pleasant. Prices were on par with most other shops we visited($ 2.75 for a large — more like a medium/tall). If it were next door to a Starbucks, I would have a tough decision to make … but it’s not. Limited street parking. Can I buy the muffins online???

«A» and I were hanging out in YT and decided to pop into JJ Bean before heading over to GUU. I ordered a latte and a cinnamon roll. The latte was just mediocre as I’ve had better. The cinnamon roll was okay, but I didn’t like that there were raisins inside. Service was non-existent.

Coffee was ok, better than Buzz but not as good as Coo Coo. Their roast is milder than Coo Coo, we had lattes(single and double shot). A small range of breakfast items, yoghurt granola and Bran muffin were good and an excellent start to the day. Music was a bit too loud for our liking, and might have contributed to our order being mixed up.
