Beware, the junior hairdressers have a price point that would make one believe they are fully qualified, but are still doing student(if that) quality work. I had to come in three times to fix the work done, and did not receive one apology from the hairdresser who made the mistakes, nor any sort of reach out from Julien himself. The incredibly botched job included a blatantly uneven cut, and as a result I had to cut my hair much shorter than I was comfortable with to make it even again, polka dot mistakes of bleach around my head that I had to forego my colour in order to hide, and roots that were lighter than my hair colour, and brighter too. It took so much time to fix because it was so bad, time that I do not have, and I was compensated for the bare minimum of re-do that I had to practically beg for. The woman at the front desk was hardly accommodating. I would go back to Cindy, who fixed my hair with such patience and knowledge, but honestly I can’t go back into that salon because I am incredibly turned off with how they handled and allowed for such an obscenely bad job.

Came as a walk in. My stylist gave a great head massage and was off to a great start. Then the product pushing began. Very very pushy(I’m used to stylists letting me know what they used etc. but this was way more that that). I asked if one product she’d used on me was tested on animals(I try not to buy products like that generally), I was immediately told«no». So I googled and it was. My stylist was immediately agitated when I said I didn’t want to buy all the products she’d been pushing on me and opted for a cheaper(and not tested on animals) brand. I’m sorry but when I go in for a hair cut I am not obligated to purchase product and I though it was tacky how irritated she was when I didn’t want to drop 65 dollars on a bottle of hair oil. The total was added up and tip function on the machine was based on the total from the salon service(hair cut) AND the product. I just pushed the buttons anyways to get our of there, The fake smiles were getting to me. The hair cut was fine but I won’t be going back cause the service wasn’t so great.

Walked by and saw the advertisement for 30% off first time customer discount and decided to give it a try. Lydia was my stylist and she did a wonderful job with my hair cut. It’s been a month now and it’s growing out nicely. The salon itself is beautiful, modern, and clean. This place is a little out of my price range without the discount or else I would definitely be going back again. There’s also a discount if you’re a student.

I have been a patron for three years. My stylist recently left but I decided to stay with my appointment. I share the sentiments of other patrons who have been treated with a callous attitude especially by Julien himself. I will not be returning to this salon. I would recommend people look at other salons that show they appreciate your patronage.

I have been coming to Julien Grenier for about 2 years now, but only make appointments with Angela, so I can’t speak for the rest of the staff. They have at least a dozen hairdressers there, so I wouldn’t be surprised if your experience varied depending on who you book. Angela, however, is wonderful. She always takes the time to understand what you really want, and will make sure everything is just right before letting you out of the chair. Even when I just drop in for a bangs trim(which is free if you book with your regular stylist), she takes meticulous care to make sure it’s exactly what I want. She never makes me feel rushed, even when I’m being maddingly indecisive. Not every stylist has the patience to stand there while you scrutinize to see whether you should get another ¼ inch taken off. But Angela is a saint! I’ve never had a problem getting an appointment at short notice, and I think there was only one time she ran late(literally 5 minutes). I’m sure you’ll have a good experience here if you book with Angela!

A very disappointed long term customer has yet to hear from the owner and apologize for the unprofessional attitude of his salon manager Natasha. I first met Julien in the late seventies at Crimpers so when I heard he opened Tech One I gladly set up a 6 week standing appointment since 1994. Many of the team at Tech One are wonderful especially Jon and Lynn but when I was confronted with a very unprofessional individual who called herself the salon manager she refused to allow me to speak to Julian the owner, with great sadness I had to leave a salon I was extremely loyal too and had referred many clients to over the years. Loyal customers are what small business count on for the day to day operations. I wish the salon well as this shift in treatment of loyal customers will not be tolerated.
