#30daysofyelp 12⁄30 The only thing that this place has over other Japanese restaurants is the location. Oh and maybe the pre made sushi they sell for those who are in a rush. I hate giving out less than 3 stars but I’ve definitely had better sushi and experience elsewhere. Our server was pleasant and nice enough but either she started working there recently or just clueless; she didn’t understand our request and she forgot to give us the utensils needed to eat. They also use plastic cutlery. My sister ordered the chirasi don with hot sauce on the side and it was hard for her to mix the rice with a plastic spoon. Some people could view this as being too picky but it was frustrating for her to mix it the way she wanted to. As for the food, it was really just meh. I got spicy scallop roll and spicy salmon roll and I couldn’t really taste the fish because it was wrapped around so much rice and the portion of fish was tiny. The pre-made sushi they sell at the front looked better than the freshly made sushi. Oh well… lesson learned.

2⁄30 I will never come here again. Why? After coming here on lunch breaks with a co worker for quite some time, we finally got fed up with the slow and incompetent waitress. So we decided to not leave a tip. When I paid the bill exactly, the woman I think is the owner had the audacity to tell me I still owed a tip, as is customary for services in Canada. Excuse me? As in a service charge? Bad service doesn’t get tips! Sushi places are plentiful and fairly equal quality in this area, and they will now have 2 more regular customers who tip well for good service.

I love the little woman that I order my food from. Oh k i work very close to this place so its a no brainer when I want some sushi downtown for lunch. But I swear the woman in there gives the best service. She remembers what i usually order, she knows I don’t need a bag and that I like my wasabi and ginger. They aren’t even stingy witht he packs of soya to go! The sushi is freashly rolled right in front of you, and it tastes great! they make pretty large rolls and they are well priced. We bought the sushi combo for $ 26 bucks the other day and it was pretty awesome and had great variety! My co worker always gets the sashimi and she loves it! Totally recomend it!

You can’t really go wrong with a California roll and two salmon nigri and two tuna nigri for $ 6.75. But with only two other small parties there, our food took way too long to come out. Tea also is 65 cents. I pay a little more to have my cup filled with water. The food itself tasted pretty fresh, and I really liked the big piece of avocado in my Cali roll. We were in a rush so we went up to the counter to pay. Not sure if that’s what we were supposed to do or not, but the woman wasn’t coming around to see if we were done eating. Bottom line: This was an OK experience, but nothing stood out to make it especially memorable. The prices are pretty decent, and they also have prepackaged sushi to go. If I’m at the library and wanting sushi, I might give it another shot.

I was downtown and looking for a quick sushi fix on my lunch break. I liked that you have the option at this place to buy pre-packaged sushi or order it fresh. I thought the quality was good and the service was good as well. I tried the alaska roll, salmon maki and and california roll with masago and enjoyed them all. I would recommend this place if you are in the area and looking for a quick, cheap sushi fix!

I was in a real rush to eat quick and leave. So when I saw the waitress taking orders from a large table, I was ready to bolt. But she came over, and I said I didn’t have a lot of time. She said she’d order mine first. I picked up the newpaper on the sushi bar and began reading. I didn’t get very far before the sushi chef was handed me my spicy tuna roll. It was good, as so was the miso soup. In addition to quick service, the other nice feature is that it’s seconds from the door of the Central Public library, in the library complex. They were a little stingy on the ginger, though. It was small pieces and there wasn’t a lot.
