Great little shoe store with a large selection. I was able to find winter boots and Stride Rite shoes at one location! Helpful and friendly staff. Will be back to shop for all of my kids’ shoes.

The Bootery has really nice footwear but the service is terrible. In fact, it’s non-service. I was in there today. One woman stood behind the counter eating a sandwich, and another wandered around, then told the sandwich eater which shoes she was interested in buying. Not one person said hello to me. Rude. I went across the street to Freedman, Ronsons, and Hill’s and was graciously greeted and offered help if I needed it. I think The Bootery’s employees need a swift kick in the derrière with a steel-toed Dr. Martens boot.

Reading prior reviews made me skeptical of the store, but the large selection of kids footwear was the key reason why I went this morning. Service was excellent, I will go there again for my infant’s shoes. The gentleman that helped us was very knowledgeable, friendly –no sales pressure, even talked about the negative things of certain shoes for my kid’s feet. maybe the unhelpful saleslady wasn’t there or left the co, but the two sales ladies that were there seemed genuinely helpful and friendly. Lesson learned from today –don’t rely on these reviews, one needs to see things for him/herself. Impressive selection of kids shoes(coming from one that just moved from the upperwestside in nyc, that had a kid’s only shoe store –harry’s on w72). i was hoping they’d have birks for my feet, but unfortunately they dont sell them. I’d be happy to pay my retail margin to this store, and to that gentleman in particular.

Love it. No service no pressure. We went to Bootery when I was looking for some heels for a semi-formal dinner in Kerrisdale. Nobody asked us anything at all, I meant seriously; no greeting, no eye contact to the ext ream. We walked around and tried on shoes all by ourselves. I looked for help when I needed different sizes and saw one older woman asked a younger woman if she was going to sell the shoes to us. Really? She approached toward us without saying anything and I did all the talking. She walked away then back with two shoes ANDQUICKLYSITDOWNON A CHAIRANDTURNEDHERBACKTOUS. Fun! I put on the shoes, walked around, took off the shoes then walked out the store. The end. Lovely. Did not spend any money at all.

The name of this shoe shop makes me laugh. Go ahead, say it. The Bootery. It’s funny. Once you get past the name, it’s your basic shoe store. They do have a nice selection of boots and other practical, comfy shoes for men and women. Also of note is their selection of cozy looking slippers. In the back half of the store you’ll find a lot of kids shoes.
