they dont even deserve a 1 star complete trash from the food the prices are ridiculous and the worst customer service ever disgusting someone spending $ 70/​$ 80 bucks on shitty food and fucking tipping the dumb bitch! she could atleast be respectful trying to argue with me when i asked her do you have cat fish she says yes so i say ok i would like that get allll the way home 30 mins away from this place for her to tell me she didnt order that for me everything is written in chinese i dont read chinese !!! never again i hope she reads this and remembers exactly who i am! i never usally get this angry but waste of time worst service food was cold and disgusting waste of gas and waste of $ 80! plus tip!

Food looks great but too expensive. It is not worth the price and they had very poor customer service. It was $ 13/​lb for the fish and it ended up costing $ 26 with a mandatory $ 6 choice of 3 items to go with the fish. And charged us for rice and did not inform us that they had ran out of rice. The skewers were small and not worth the price. Our total bill ended up costing 47.75 for two not including tip. I highly recommend STAYING AWAY from this place.

Was a fan, but don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon after the horrible customer service on my most recent visit. In a nutshell: ordered a suuuuuper easy off-​menu dish (tofu + green onion) which I have ordered several times here before, but the server, looking fed up with life, refuses and claims it’s impossible that I’ve ever ordered this and it cannot be done now because that’s the policy. Then she insists that we move to a small table after realising we are only in for a snack, as the table we are sitting at is «reserved» (meanwhile, there are only two other parties in the entire restaurant for the duration of the meal — this was a Sunday at 10pm, i.e., a slow night). No water. And beside actually taking our order (barely) and bringing the food, zero service.
Sure she was probably having a bad day, but it kind of felt like she was going above and beyond to make sure we had a poor dining experience… probably the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant.
I’m sure I’ll back again, as this was an exception to the usually friendly customer service, just not until enough time has passed to erase this particularly bad memory. Or until I am craving BBQ lamb skewers… or BBQ Chinese bun skewers… mmmmm!

Horrible customer service! They forced me to pay 10% tips!

The food was decent but the customer service was bad. They were very unresponsive and understaffed. Many of the customer kept on raising their hands to get the servers’ attention but stayed unnoticed for long periods of time.

If you are into something spicy and something heavy, then this is the place to go. Don’t expect fresh live fish here, but it’s well flavoured, lots of pepper and sauce. The skewers are awesome! Beef tendon is awesome. My friends all love the chicken knees. Lamb is reasonably priced. We ordered the rock fish with $ 13/​lb which is alright. I think.

TL, DR:
1. Restaurant under estimated the 1.6 hour wait
2. No water, no refills
3. Frozen, salty rockfish
4. No credit cards, poor exchange rate
5. Not enough service, no hostess, lack of service…
Details:
First off, we were told there was a 1 hour wait but we ended up waiting for an hour and 40 minutes. This is for only two people.
Secondly, they didn’t even give us drinking water even when asked three times. After the third time they finally gave us water but we were almost done eating. We finished the water and they did not bother to refill it.
The rockfish was overpriced, salty, and did not taste fresh. It was most likely previously frozen. Chongqing style wasn’t even spicy???
They do not accept credit cards and the USD to CAD exchange rate was 1:1. They over-​weighed the fish for sure and it came out more expensive than expected… which I would not mind had the meal and service been good.
Finally, there were only three waitresses for the entire restaurant. It was clear that this was not enough given how busy it was. They obviously do not know how to run a business.

STAY AWAY!!! COMPLETE RIPOFF AND HORRIBLE SERVICE. I am Chinese-​Canadian very tolerant of most things, but this place was so bad. I’m in an interracial relationship and they treated us terribly; if you’re not a complete FOB they’ll treat you atrociously AND the prices are completely ridiculous. You would expect a Chinese restaurant on Kingsway to be reasonably priced but not this place. I would recommend the Chinese place next door; better service, food and price.

My first Chongqing fish experience. It was phenomenal.
Hot hot chillies and numbing peppercorns atop light and fluffy grilled fish, on a bed of mushrooms, potatoes and cabbage…
My tongue… on fire. then the feeling dissapears… then it’s back… jeebus, thats hot, yet somehow smooth… and the glass of cheap beer made it go down oh so easy.
I love this. Dear god, i’m crying.
Pleasant and prompt service too. I will be back.
