Really nice neighborhood cantina close to English Bay. Place is not really big and tables are packed a bit tightly together, but the food is great. I tried the Guacamole Classico and Tres Salsa and loved both of them. The tortilla chips were warm, fresh, and sprinkled lightly with chili sauce. I really enjoyed trying the different dipping sauce. The lime crema was somooth, the guacamole was fresh, the bean dip, tomato chunks, and mango chunks were very flavourful. They also have a nice selection of wines and tiki cocktails. Place is casual, cozy, and the servers are friendly. Definitely worth stopping by if your around the area.

It had been years since I was last at Lolita’s and it has changed a lot but not in a good way. The meal was disappointing. I remember that the food used to be good but admittedly small portions. Now the portions are huge, but the quality is poor. We shared the ceviche that didn’t taste like ceviche at all, it was sweet with oranges in it. Didn’t taste any fish or lime juice. Plus it was dark so I could barely read the menu let alone see what I was eating. For the main, I had pulled pork enchiladas. Again a bit tasteless, there was a lot of potato filler, mushrooms and spinach. I almost wanted to say«where’s the meat?» Also, I think refried beans would’ve been better than a green salad on the side. I suppose I should’ve asked to switch but I didn’t want to make a fuss. Although the place was busy, maybe it is more a place for drinks now rather than food,

Came here on a bustling Monday night and had a great time. The four of us were seated right away, but the seats weren’t the most confortable, but I saw they had a special food menu on Monday so I was pleased that we were sat so quickly. We started with some cocktails, which were delicious. Our waitress was friendly but there were some service problems… My friends ordered plantain chips as a starter that didn’t arive with the main, nor did they arrive after. They did bring us more of the delicious corn chips to have with our leftover dip but there was no explaination of why, after checking up twice and waiting a half-hour, the plantain chips hadn’t arrived. They also forgot our drinks a few times and we had to wait awhile for a round, and one of the taco plates was wrong. But they did apologise, and we didn’t really need the plantain chips due to the good portion size of the $ 10 taco plate special. I could tell they were busy and they were apologetic. The food was delicious. And great value, and the staff were knowledgable and happy to modify things for us. I had the $ 10 taco plate with the yam tacos and they were so tasty and it’s pretty amazing that you can get a full meal for $ 10. The plate is a full meal, complete with salad, rice and beans so you can fill your tacos up even more. The chips were amazing, hot from the fryer and dusted with tumeric(I think) these chips were so good and it’s not to get chips not from a costco bag. The atomosphere here is great. We were dancing along to the music, and chatting with the friendly people at the end of our table and to the waitstaff. We were there for about 2 ½ hours and never felt hustled out. Overall amazing food and great atmsphere, and I will be back!

I absolutely love this restaurant! I’m here all the time! I love the taco deal on a Monday night! Such a nice atmosphere, delicious cocktails! The chicken and beef tacos are my all time favourites! Guacamole and chips are so good too!

This place was recommended to us by a friend and I’m so glad it was! We have been back twice now on a Monday for the $ 10 tacos which are simply divine! Definitely worth stopping here. Staff are very friendly and the food always arrives in speedy time.

It’s pretty easy(or really hard, it depends on perspective) to nominate a restaurant with a country label when you are in a multiracial place like Vancouver. I had found myself surrounded by an amazing variety of places from around the world to eat here, but, probably my limited experience traveling around the world, will only give my palate a reference with Peruvian, Mexican and American food; the rest of the countries are still a new discovery to achieve. No longer, Mexican food is my speciality, I’m Mexican and I had traveled inside my country to almost all the 31 states we have, at every stop, I had to meet with their food. By this moment I consider myself a full experienced Mexican gourmet. And then… I find places like Lolita’s. First, do you even know the meaning of «salt» in food? the first, and probably last, time I came here ALL your food was flavorless, I had to ask the waitress the embarrassing question«do you have salt?», so after half of the bottle my food started to got some flavor. Second, please, and for the last time, PLEASE don’t use the label«Mexican Food» just to attract costumers, if this is your way for selling your food at least say it’s a fusion restaurant, NOT authentic Mexican food. Third, the positive thing about this place, is the place itself, and the people that takes care of the place, its an excellent place to take some fancy drinks, go out at night to a classy place, not much crowded and with a fine taste in music and decoration. You could be an amazing place to eat if you just fixed the comments before.

My husband and I came here two years ago, sat at the bar, and had great food and drinks. We recently returned, with a baby. The staff was so welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. They made sure there was space for the baby and pushed another table up to ours so that we had enough space for our food and drinks. Another family came in, with a baby and a toddler, and they treated them very nicely, as well. Two other guests arrived and the staff members offered to close the open door(it was slightly cool out) so that they would feel comfortable sitting at the end of the bar. The food and drinks were excellent, but in a city where there seems to be a lot of really good food, it was nice to see how much the staff cared about making guests comfortable.

If you want a delicious restaurant with a unique flair Lolita’s South of the Border Cantina is the place to go. From their homemade chips and guacamole to their cowboy steak skillet you’ll enjoy the variety of flavors. It continues on with specialty drinks like a refreshing, delicious watermelon lemon margarita. Don’t miss this place!

It was my first time there after living downtown for 2 years, and was and was pretty disappointed– contrary to hearing tons of great hype. The ceviche was an interesting interpretation, couldn’t taste much of the seafood, as well the chips that came with it were stale. The enchilada was a pretty small portion for the price, as well lacking diversity in flavour and reminded me more of a pasta. The service was great, as was the mango margarita. Maybe the kitchen had an off night? Would try it again with bated breath.

I have been here when I visit Vancouver, its use to be a cool bar but I guess some of the staff I use to know are gone. I walked in the other night and waited almost 10 min to get service at the bar while I saw the bartender girl who saw me and just kept chatting away with her friends, then walked up and said«what do you need?»…I thought it was the most rudest way to address a customer who has waited all that time?. I asked for a simple glass of Red wine and she told me she does not have what I want, which was even more odd. I took the house wine and she just waked off and didn’t even bother to ask me what I wanted. I am done ever setting foot in this shit hole.

The food is a little better than the typical mexican restaurant, but I have been there two times and it was cold. The service was terrible. We met friends there and the waitress ask us three times to order the main courses without noticing that we were having fun in the middle of a conversation. She came back with ribs but everyone ordered tacos… Must of all, it’s way to pricy. It’s not worth it. I won’t go back.

Small, cozy, and pretty cool. I’ve only stopped in here a few times for a drink and to my shame haven’t eaten here(as I’m convinced the Mexican food is pretty good!). It’s a great bar to sit at. Draft fans be warned, this is bottles, wine, and cocktails only. But a good selection of each. I like this place for offering a very different place to grab a drink on Davie street. Smaller and cosier than the larger Davie St bars.

Hey! Hey! Hey! Lolita vient danser avec moi! Every time I walked by this song come to my mind… So I give a shot… WHAMMY chickens tortillas and guacamole. Delish margaritas and pina Colada. Great customers service. Good vibes and amazing décor. I love this place! I will come back over and over til it’s getting cold outside! PS: Just because it’s lil bit far of my crib. And when it gets real cold outside I chill around my playground(Yaletown) that’s all ;)…

Stopped here on a vacation and absolutely loved the place! Definitely a hole in the wall, but the food was outstanding and so were the drinks. My husband and I each had a watermelon margarita and then split the guacamole. We were surprised to get the best homemade tortilla chips(warm!) we’ve ever had, and my husband is Mexican. I then proceeded to have the fish taco and chorizo taco and my husband fought me for more! Great place, definitely will go again if we ever visit Vancouver.
