I have been a long time customer but have noticed in the year the prices have gone up and the quality has come waaaaaaayyyyy down. Ordered the steak and ribs with a side vegetarian pasta. The food was like slop all plopped together in the same container. The pasta was so foul it was inedible and ended up throwing it in garbage, the steak was overcooked and the salad had huge hunks of uncut iceberg lettuce. I won’t be ordering again. It was expensive as well so feel like I was ripped off.

I have been coming here for years and years. I hate to say it but I think it’s going slightly downhill. Everything has gone up in price so much since the last time I visited, like the lasagna and souvlaki. The serving sizes however are still the same, except for the garlic bread. You used to get a big, thick slice, now it’s only about half an inch. Not what I’m used to…

Minerva’s is a great staple in Kerrisdale. It’s been there since about 1975 and they just opened a bar next door which I believe is the only one in the area. We were there last night and it was packed, showing the baseball game, the bar side looks nice, darker and modern, great addition. We dined in the main restaurant with reservations and had preordered the prime rib specials. They do run out so if you’re headed over and wanting the Prime Rib, make sure when you make your reservation you call and order the right amount so you don’t get disappointed. I don’t actually see it on the menu and I’m not sure if it’s offered every night but we were there on a Friday night and they accommodated our request. The restaurant and bar were very busy and it felt like they were understaffed so it took a bit long to get our food, but the service was still decent and our waters were refilled frequently. When you order the Prime Rib, you get your choice of the seafood chowder or the garden salad with your choice of dressing. You also get your choice of the baked potato, mashed potato or I think also a pasta. Nice variety, the prime rib was tender, well cooked and juicy. Great meal!

Came here on a Sunday night, the restaurant was filled with older customers and relatively busy at 7pm. We ordered the chicken souvlakii, 12″ meat pizza and a seafood pasta for the 3 of us. Bill was probably around 60 $ or so including tax and tip. Food was delicious and service was ok. Ambiance is ok, it has some Greek décor inside and restaurant is dimly lit. Minerva’s is located at the corner so its easy to find and paid street parking available.

Great grocery selection and even better more reasonable selection of sit down food. The isles s bit squishy but manageable. The minute you walk in you get that family sense, that warm welcome.

Love it! Good food, really friendly staff. A lot of gluten free options. We had the beef and lamb souvlaki, both where fantastic. Great flavour, soft and tender meat. We will definitely be coming back here!

I have been coming to this FABULOUS, YUMMY restaurant for years. Honestly, I have never had a bad meal. The service is fantastic and I love that this is family run restaurant rather than the other repetitive crap thats rests itself all over Vancouver. Cactus… Milestones and so on. Minerva’s will NEVER disappoint! Cheeky delicious food each and every time Caesar salad with home made dressing! Delicious!!!

I’m glad I made reservations for a party of 6. It was quite busy there on a Friday evening. As others reviewed, the service was great and the food was full of flavour. One thing I would have thought they could have done was bring out the pita bread and tzaziki sauce prior to waiting for the meals to come out. Understandable that it was really busy so we had to wait quite a bit for it to come. It was worth the wait. The calamari was fresh and crispy, not greasy at all. And the roast lamb just fell off the bone. Mmm… Will definite go back and try other dishes!

Tasty food with a variety of things on their menu. This is a good place to go if your party can’t agree among themselves on what to eat. This menu has something for everyone — Greek, Italian, steaks/ribs, pizza, and good salads. We were staying in the Dunbar area and wanted someplace close. I had the ribs and they were delish. Others had the chicken schwarma and it also was very good. They have a variety of beers on tap and a friendly wine list too.

The food is always great here. Big portions, big flavor. Last night I went for dinner here with my family, which was a great experience as always. I got he lamb shoulder, and other dishes ordered were the baby-back ribs, feature salad and calamari. I would recommend all those dishes if you plan to go. The only problem I had was at the end of our meal, I couldn’t finish my meal(as the portions were quite generous), so I asked for the remainder of my meal doggy-bagged. Our server took my plate to pack what was left, but then she also took all the other plates and stacked them on top of my plate! Now correct me if I’m wrong, but she’s supposed to take my meal, pack it, bring it back and then clear the finished plates. After she cleared our table, and brought my doggy-bag, she just left. She didn’t ask if we wanted to order dessert or anything else. In which we were wanting to order dessert. After about 10 minutes, she came back and then asked if we wanted dessert, of course we said yes as that’s what were waiting for. It took her another 10 minutes to come back to take our dessert order. Let’s just say, I wasn’t impressed with our server at all.

Overall it’s a great place. The calamari was on point and the lamb was delicious. Went in a large group and everyone left very satisfied.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for ages and it sure didn’t disappoint my expectations. Our server Jason was awesome. He made our meal extremely enjoyable. It also doesn’t hurt that our meal was delicious :9

Great greek food! The pizza is on the heavy/greasy side though, and the pasta is nothing special.

Their New York steak and spaghetti are the best. For the spaghetti, I personally prefer meat sauce and steam. Do not order baked spaghetti; it is too salty, at least for my taste. Another choice would be the baby rib. It is delicious as well.

There is something comforting about Minerva’s. I like coming here for late dinner. It seems there’s always at least a couple tables of big groups talking and laughing even past 10 in the evening. I’ve been seated as late as 10:40pm with no problem. Servers and staff are some of the friendliest and most cordial you will find around Kerrisdale. My go-to is the baby back ribs, mmmmm… grilled asparagus also delicious! Tonight I got the lamb souvlaki for the first time, which was much more flavourful and tender than I’ve had elsewhere. I enjoyed it just as much as, and maybe even more than, the ribs. Will definitely be back for this again soon! Ordered the strawberry shortcake with whip cream and vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was okay, although I probably wouldn’t order it again. Service was top-notch from beginning to end. Overall a highly satisfying dining experience. Total came in at $ 35 after tax and tip. Highly recommend!

Minerva’s is the go-to for a bunch of special occasions(like birthdays) in my family. It’s pretty much what you’d expect from something described as a pizza and steak house as far as the menu goes. Everyone is always pretty satisfied with their meals, and they are always cool with making me some weird mix and match pasta dish that isn’t technically on the menu. I usually pull a «can I get this noodle… with that sauce. and can you throw in spinach?» Decent service, bit of a slow wait for food, overall pretty okay.

I’ve come here several times and it’s always good, but never great. We ordered 5 dishes: calamari, Minerva’s Special pizza, Greek salad, the chicken souvlaki, and the Penne Alla Toscana(I might be wrong about the penne name…) Their food is usually very salty and very oily. It’ll make you sick if you come here too often. Their pizza is good, but still salty. The calamari was good! Not too chewy, nice and crispy. Also, I love the Shirley Temple. I get it every time. And the souvlaki is good. Not too salty too my surprise haha. The barbeque flavor is really very strong and yummy. Overall, I like this place. I’ll come back, but it’s not the best place in the world, in my opinion.

Minerva’s is great! Went here the other week for my fiancés family birthday dinner. I suggested it partly because it was a convenient location but also because of the positive reviews which were definitely accurate. The service was a tad glacial but the food was awesome. We had a party of six and every person was very happy with their order. There were a few orders of various souvlaki, a chicken parmigiana, a baked lasagna and a fettucini Alfredo. I personally had the beef souvlaki and it was one of the best I have ever had. No joke. I love souvlaki. Greek is one of my go-to dinner options so I’ve eaten a lot of souvlaki over the years and this was exceptional. The beef was cooked to perfection; it wasn’t chewy at all but very tender with just the right touch of pink left in the middle. The potato and rice were splendid too; flavorful yet not greasy. Also, I wasn’t dying of thirst after which is something that sometimes happens after souvlaki. The décor is very nice and predictable for the type of restaurant and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Other than the drink order taking a while everything was great. I will definitely be back!

Soooooooo, I wanted to take a friend who recently moved into the neighbourhood for a bite to eat and catch up. My tennis friend mentioned this place and I thought why not. The restaurant is situated in the outskirts quiet part of Kerrisdale. It’s nice because you can park for free at Elm park which is just nearby. The place was quite big and spacious. Great tables for couples or groups. I was surprised at the different types of people that came in, from teenagers to grandparents. There is definitely a «homey» «neighbourhood» feel to his place. Servers were friendly, attentive, and didn’t mind if you chat the night away. They had a decent wine list of reds and whites, but not a huge beer or cocktail list. The shiraz wasn’t bad. I like the selection from salads, appetizers, steaks, ribs, seafood, pasta, and souvlaki. I tried the garlic prawns as appetizer and the lamb souvlaki —– it’s kind of a hit or miss whether some places cook it right, it can taste heavenly or like a barnyard. I was happy to way it was a hit :)
