They were very busy today with everyone buying their holiday pastries, however, there was still an amazing assortment of cookies to be had. Even though they were busy the staff had it together and were extremely efficient. Very good prices for the neighborhood. They have a lot of goodies to chose from, therefore, it was no surprise that some took more than a few minutes to choose.

HAVEAGAIN: the Nanaimo bar was quite good. Great name: Moore! NOTHAVEAGAIN: the chocolate shortbread cookie was ok, but not enough chocolate(very thin covering) and I would not have this again.

By far, the best coconut macaroons ever — gluten free option as well. Cheap too, you get a dozen of these crunchy edges, with some type of glaze, for under $ 5. I fight every temptation not to buy them when I’m driving thru the hood. But as soon as I see an empty parking spot along 41st near it, it’s game over. But stay away from the cinnamon buns, nothing like the gooey ones, a bit dry and not generous enough on the icing. A few round tables to sit in. Friendly service.

I’ve been visiting this place since my early childhood days(however its been around since the 1920s– a true part of kerrisdale’s heritage) for tasty treats that are not too sweet. This place reminds me of a bigger version of tinker’s hatch which has sadly closed(mackenzie and 33rd). Must haves include their egg salad sandwich and the apple pies(the crumbled topping is amazing– be sure to get this one early as they’re often sold out by the end of the day). You will also find a range of endless sugar cookies, cookies dipped in chocolate, butter cookies, cookies with icing. the list continues! Lovely for a stroll around k-dale.

Never really noticed this spot until last week when I was craving some pastries and discovered this spot in Kerrisdale. From the outside, the bakery looks quite plain and old but once you walk in, you feel the friendly and home-y atmosphere. I felt like I just walked into someone’s grandma’s kitchen! So many homemade goodies from cookies to muffins to scones. Endless fresh baked goods to choose from for VERY affordable prices! Cookies were under 50cents each and they have deals if you buy a dozen :) Their sugar cookie wasn’t buttery enough for me and the blueberry muffin looked better than it tasted but their PEANUTBUTTERCHOCOLATECHUNK cookie is ever so yummy. The semi sweet chocolate chunks add the perfect extra touch– they are definitely NOT your regular chocolate chips. Look forward to trying their chocolate chip cookies and other goodies next time! No more paying more than $ 1 for a cookie! If you’re craving some yummy fresh homemade pastries for cheap, come here– your wallet and tummy will both be happy.
