As others have noted, the main(if not only?) reason to visit Morton Park is «A-Maze-ing Laughter». This bronze sculpture collection is unlike any that you have seen before, and is virtually guaranteed to bring out the kid in you.

The park is pretty well kept but there really isn’t much of a park but more of a space of reflection. There are some well kept grassy knolls and a few benches to sit and take in the sites. Currently there is an open air art installation and it was very busy. I was surprised to get a parking spot so easily though. You may want to park elsewhere and just walk over to Morton Park. The installation that was there when I went was«A-MAZE-ING Laughter» by Yue Minjun. I love that Vancouver has all these open air installations all over the place because it’s a free way to enjoy art outside. I was able to catch the Concrete Giants on Granville Island as well which was also enjoyable. Anyway, A-MAZE-ING Laughter was super cool and a good free photo op session for all those that were weaving in and out of the maze of bronze giant depictions of the artist himself. It actually made me smile seeing everyone else smile and try to imitate the sculptures. It also made me smile just because of the huge grins of the sculptures looking down on passersby as the giants seemingly laugh out loud at whatever the joke may have been. I wish we had something like this where I live but I’m glad I was able to stop by here on my Vancouver trip after a lovely day in Stanley Park.

Across from English Bay at the corner of Davie and Denman is this small patch of land called Morton Park. It would be otherwise unnotable if not for the interesting sculpture display on it called A-maze-ing Laughter. This display consists of 14 different bronze sculptures of an Asian figure(the artist) in varying poses and laughing facial expressions. Depending on the time of the year you visit, these sculptures may be adorned appropriately for the season(ex. Christmas). Vancouver does not seem to have as many public art displays as Seattle does, but this one does seem to merit a visit if you are on the West End.
