I was really in the mood for some breakfast and Nice Café had been on my list for awhile. Unfortunately, I found the overall experience to be somewhat disappointing. The service is almost non-existent. Our waitress ignored us for almost the entirety of our meal. Granted it was a Sunday, but the two waitress seemed more interested in interacting with each other than us. The food was fine. The super omelette was good. The banana pancakes were fine. The hash brown was excellent.

Good casual hang out spot. Great place to grab a filling breakfast on a lazy weekend. Place is small and gets quite busy so plan ahead.

I found this place by doing a general Unilocal search of «Breakfast places» and this popped up that was close to Main street area. This has been on my bucket list since July 30th. Hours of operation are 8 am — 4 pm, therefore, wasn’t able to make this a weekday adventure, however, this was an awesome weekend morning adventure. It was moderately busy, however, was served in a timely manner. I am thankful for places like this that serve breakfast all day. My schedule is often all over the place, therefore, these places are a blessing in disguise. Prices are super reasonable. Our waiter was really sweet. I needed a place from the rain while my bestie was working at the store. I was doing homework and working on my zine. Diner atmosphere.

Really solid diner off Main Street that leaves you nostalgic for times long past… a time when you really just want a coffee and eggs for breakfast and none of this molecular gastronomy hoohaa featuring organic small-batch hemp-fed meat substitute(though I’ve eaten that elsewhere and it can be delicious too). For $ 5.25 I had a grilled cheese sandwich and fries(yeah I washed it down with a chai latte so maybe I’m a hypocrite after all. Their chai latte is pretty good by the way.). $ 5.25 and the fries were included?! Is it 1999??? Others at our table ordered more breakfasty items and I was a little jealous of their egg hashes and eggs bennies and pancakes(all ~$ 10 for big big plates). My grilled cheese was very cheesy though the fries were a bit too salty for me. It looks to be mostly family run though I think they have hired additional staff too — makes sense as the place was packed at 10:30 on a Sunday morning. Great little place to fill up for about ten bucks!

Worst café experience ever. The waitress was rude and messed up our order. The food was not good at all. Overpriced for the quality of the experience. Don’t recommend this place at all. And I’m not hard to please.

I’ve been once and was pleased about the value. Unfortunately I couldn’t say the same for the food. My omelette was just ehhh. Veggies cut too big and overall… whatever. Hashbrowns and coffee were good though. I’d give nice café another try if friends really wanted to go but would order something else.

Finding those cheap, yet solid hole-in-the-wall diners are getting harder to come by. It seems all the florescent is being replaced by Edison incandescent, and linoleum is replaced by reclaimed hardwood(hopefully). Overall it’s a solid little spot. Good eats for the price, which is quite cheap comparing other brunch spots on lower Main street. Staff is friendly and efficient, especially when you may think there’s a catch to the whole«cheap eats» thing. I don’t drink coffee, but I’m sure there’s free refills. If you don’t mind saltiness, I recommend the corn hash omelette… in fact I recommend all the omelettes here… and drizzle them with a combination of ketchup and hot sauce. It will not disappoint.

Went in because i saw it recommended on the vancity buzz cheap breakfast list. We sit down there is 2 coffee cups, we are asked if we want coffee. One of us does but both cups are dirty we ask for a new cup, she brings a new cup and pours coffee. This one is also dirty it had crusty flaky white stuff(probably from some type of detergent is my guess) around the rim. At this point we decided to leave. We were told we would have to pay for the coffee $ 3.26. It was 2.15 on the menu but ok sure. Left pissed off, disgusted, hungry and down $ 3.26.

Ordered the eggs Benny with ham, pancakes with bacon and runny sunny side up eggs and the classic toast sausage hash town and eggs combo. The eggs Benny were ok, nothing special but presented decent enough. The bacon was done well too good balance between crispy and flavour. And it all went downhill from there. The eggs weren’t runny at all. The hashbrowns weren’t really seared well so just kinda plopped onto the plate. And the toast wasn’t even brown. The worst were the pancakes that had a fishy taste to them. The service is kinda mixed. The manager? Older Asian lady who brought the food out was super ecstatic and was nice. The server didn’t even seem awake. We could barely hear her when she was talking and didn’t bring us menus until we asked. In her defence for the menus they were on all the tables except the one she told us to sit at. Not coming back here anytime soon

Was craving a basic breakfast– sausage, hash browns, poached eggs, and toast. I subbed my toast for raisin toast, which cost an extra $ 0.50, which the server didn’t mention to me as the point of order. I noticed the extra charge on my bill. When I asked the server about it she told me she was going to charge me $ 0.25 but the cook told her to charge me $ 0.50. This seemed really unprofessional and disorganized. My friend got the corned hash with scrambled eggs and substituted the toast for extra hash browns(no extra charge). Our food came relatively fast, what we had expected– simple and tasty. The prices are extremely reasonable($ 17 Inc tax for 2 meals) and I will return when I crave a home made, no frills breakfast. I give this place 3 stars because I wasn’t informed there would be additional costs to the bread substitution and the unprofessional conduct when I asked about my bill.

Décor was OK, food and service were really good. I had the denver, it was pretty standard, with egg, tomato, green peppers. My sis had the chicken fingers and fries, again pretty standard. BBQ sauce was gross, just order a side of gravy instead. Coffee was good and refills are quick. BUT, the one star taken off was for the disgusting bathroom. You have to go THROUGH the kitchen to get there and when you got in, it was filthy. Right inside the kitchen! If I saw this before I had the food, I would have run out of there. As it was, it was a good one-time experience, but just because of the bathroom experience, I won’t be back. Too high risk.

The food here is great for the price, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The staff doesn’t go out of their way to be overly friendly, but it isn’t that kind of establishment. If you want friendly service go elsewhere, I had the smoked salmon Benny and was pleased with what I got. I would definitely go here again. Its very busy during peak breakfast and brunch hours.

The food was fast, it came out so fast that the toast slid and touched the table. The waitress saw but didn’t even acknowledge it(gross in my opinion). The wait staff you have to flag down repeatedly which can get annoying, but they came through when we asked for peanut butter ‘jam’ packs. :) cheap and greasy breakfast.

** Good breakfast at an affordable price ** I ordered the sausage, eggs, hashbrown & toast. The quality and portions are very good considering its price of $ 6.50. Their banana pancakes are highly recommended as well. Pros: — Low prices — Quality of food is good(considering the price range) — Large portions(considering the price range) Cons: — Long line ups at peak breakfast times — Limited parking around the area

Happy to find this decent place for breakfast at 8am on 8th and Main. Comfortable seating. Good size breakfast, the lady who’s serving is enthusiastic ~ given she understands your order ~ you will get something always ;) Reasonable price ~ I ordered Spanish feta omelet for under $ 10.

Delisiousó! –Crazy cheap and ridiculously tasty. –There is usually a lineup but don’t be scurred, it moves fast. I just moved in to Olympic Village in December and my girlfriend and I found this place a couple weeks ago, it has become part of our Saturday morning ritual and our wallets and tummies couldn’t be happier. *Note The Pineapple Orange Guava juice does not taste anything like POG(if you have never been to Hawaii then you probably will not understand this reference)

This café is nice! It says so in the name! I’ve looked all over Vancouver for a decent greasy spoon brunch with not-ridiculous prices and a pleasant staff that doesn’t leave you waiting forever for service. On a whim, I came in here and never expected this place to blow away those expectations as well as everyone else’s version of a greasy spoon brunch. The tables are cheap wire tables best used in your grandma’s backyard, and they’ve crammed as many into their smallish space as they can get. But once you’re seated(and they don’t make people wait too terribly long), they treat you well and the menu will shock you: Everything from simple fruit and egg plates to full steak and egg breakfasts is served for less than $ 10. I ordered the $ 8.55 steak and eggs(which was close to the priciest breakfast plate on their menu), and could not believe how much heaping, good food was on the plate they brought me. You usually pay twice that for half that. Greasy and delicious, too. No way I’ll ever do a go-to Vancouver brunch anywhere else again. You win, Nice Café. You win.

Cheap decent food. Corned beef hash is my favourite. Don’t come if you are in a hurry. Very slow — took over 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee!

Very reasonably priced/cheap breakfast kind of diner place. The place was packed during the weekday lunch hour rush. I ordered tea and the Albernie(smoked salmon) benny with a request for soft poached eggs. The sever could not really remember the tea selection and was struggling to list their selection so I opted for earl grey as most places would have that tea available. Tea arrived in a white tea pot with a tea bag. The water temperature for the tea was lukewarm. I usually prefer my tea to be served with hotter water. Nonetheless, I drank the tea as it because I was too busy catching up with my friend. The flavour of the tea was very weak and I am pretty sure because the water was not hot enough. The benny arrived shortly after the tea. One small slice of smoked salmon for each English muffin. The muffin was toasted. The eggs were a hit and miss. One egg was runny and the other egg was rubbery and was almost fully cooked. They must cook the eggs in batches. The hollandaise sauce was okay. It was not that buttery and I could not taste the hints of lemon(? made from the powdered stuff). Now the hashbrowns were good! It looked like it was freshly grated with the small bits of potato ends mixed in. A hint of seasoning and was perfectly cooked. There was some green onions to add some colour to the hashbrowns. Ambiance is a hipster joint. Yes the carpet looks like it is overdue some deep cleaning. Lots of random artwork and there is a long communal table at the middle of the restaurant. Service was alright. Two different servers checked up on us. I was in a rush with my parking meter that I did not send my benny back. For the price of $ 7.95, I did not see it worth my time to ask for a replacement as the food was decent and it was not the end of my world if one egg(the second egg I ate) was done incorrectly. Now if I had paid more, it would be a different story. Overall, this is a cheap greasy spoon diner. If you lower your expectations, it is a great place to dine at. I prefer this place over Bön’s off broadway any day. This place feels a touch more cleaner.
