Great portions, and incredible food quality makes my have to award 5 stars to the Main Street Noodle Box!!! The place is run really well, the attention to customer service is top notch… I made a mistake and ordered my lunch in rice and really wanted the thick noodles… One of the bus people asked how my lunch was and I ended up with a free noodle plate!!! Bonus bonus bonus!!! Way to go Noodle Box… My customer loyalty card is just about filled!!!

Good, cheap and fast lunch foods. Not exactly the most authentic take on some of the dishes, but they’re all cooked well and taste great. Though a personal gripe of mine(and it applies to everywhere in Van so it doesn’t reflect the score) is that they can’t make things spicy. Spicy by vancouver standards just seems to be the mildest everywhere else I’ve lived. Worth a visit for a quick tasty lunch.

UPDATE: Wow, quick response. Brad was in the restaurant and came up to me to introduce himself and to make things right.

Pretty good place for modern Asian-style noodle bowls. They can accommodate vegan requests, hence why I come here. The dishes range from $ 11 – 13 for a main and come with a choice of spiciness, protein(I get tofu), and type of noodles(I get rice noodles). You order up at the bar and they bring you your food out. Very comfortable, casual environment. A very good express style place.

I love noodles… a lot! I especially love them when they’re not covered in MSG. The people complaining about lack of flavour are really saying they prefer their Chinese noodles soaked in MSG and soy sauce because that is what they’ve grown accustomed to. I love that I can pick rice noodles for any of the dishes and that almost every dish can be made gluten-free. The free sparkling water is a bonus, but would like to see an offering of GF beer or cider.

I’ve eaten at several Noodleboxes throughout the city and why oh why do I keep going back for more? The idea(I suppose) is it’s supposed to be quality fast-food and after all who the hell doesn’t like pad thai? Well they’re proof that someone can screw up noodles. Their approach seems to be give the customer a plate of noodles with some sort of vague flavouring and then let him or her use the variety of sauces provided to flavour to their taste. Sorry but that’s not cooking, if you’ve completely given up on creating something with flavour in an attempt to appeal to the widest possible audience what you get is something that appeals to no one. Actually they proved me wrong on that theory since they keep opening new locations, congratulations Noodlebox on correctly predicting the cardboard tastes of North Americans. I’ve given it two stars because I did get a couple of decent meals there, both times were the spicy peanut noodles that I ordered 5⁄5 peppers and then asked them to spice it up. So I’ve gone back a few more times thinking, well it’s late I’m hungry and maybe it’ll be okay this time… and 45 minutes later I’m cursing myself for being such an idiot who throws money away because he has the patience of a five year-old. But I’ve leaned my lesson, no more Noodlebox, no matter how much my inner toddler is screaming, ‘hungry, want food!’

Overpriced, mediocre food that all tastes the same. Spent $ 42 and threw ¾ of the food out. Would not recommend this sub food to anyone! So many better Asian places. even just up the street!

If you’re not completely averse to to white-washed Asian food, Noodlebox is a solid choice. This location is conveniently situated in front of the bus stop at Main & Broadway, so when I saw I had a 20 minute wait for my bus I figured I’d stop in and pick up takeout. I ordered the spicy peanut noodles with pulled pork and the kung pao chicken(both with a spice level of 3⁄5) as well as the Cambodian spring rolls. Service was quick — I was in and out in 12 minutes or so. The spicy peanut noodles were super tasty, definitely something I would order again. No complaints about the kung pao chicken, though it was not particularly memorable. Cambodian spring rolls were very flavourful. The 3 dishes came out to roughly $ 30, which I initially thought was pricey for the quantity of food I got. But I was wrong. While those boxes look small they pack a whole lot of food in there! It fed 2 of us dinner for 2 nights, and there was even some left over for one of us to take lunch to work. Overall, not a «destination» but if you’re in the area it’s a pretty good takeout option.

This is basically Caucasian style noodle. It’s very tasty but it’s not cheap if you compare it to noodle from a Chinese place. There are basically almost no free parking around the noodle place. But because it’s in front of a bus stop on main, it’s quite busy. Décor is nice trendy and clean.

With so many quality Asian restaurants in Vancouver, places like this make me feel like I just teleported to Middle America. The ingredients don’t taste fresh(for instance, the tiny shriveled bits of cilantro on my salad or the chopped cabbage that was as dry as paper) and the sauces taste like something concocted in a dormitory by kids who just moved out of their parents house. Which is kind of the vibe here, anyway. If you can live without faux-warehouse high ceilings and Edison bulb lamps, I recommend the Sunny Spot Café down the street… They hand make their own noodles and it’s cheap and infinitely more legit.

The fact that you can have free self serve sparkling water on tap already made me in love with this place, but I’m also a sucker for a good black bean sauce and Noodle Box has it. This is a fast food/sit down hybrid. You order at the counter but then the food is brought to you at your table and someone comes by to check in on you shortly after. it was nice. I got the black bean dish but opted for chow mein noodles instead, and added beef. I got the mildest spice, but my friend and boyfriend got spicier dishes and I thought it was cool that the person working there informed them of how hot their choice was on a scale from 1 – 10. it’s always comforting to know what you’re getting before you get it, and I find that when it comes to things being spicy it’s so inconsistent across different places that it’s hard to gauge. The portion was large, beef was generous and everything that was supposed to be soft was soft and crispy was crispy. It was under $ 30 for the two of us and I found that reasonable as well. Things seemed more fresh and higher quality than Wok Box, which will run you about the same cost and is a lot more difficult to order and navigate through.

It is a good thing this place is located literally adjoining the doors of stopping buses on Main St. — that might make it so that only new customers keep them afloat,. because there won’t be repeat ones, While waiting in line my brother-in-law tells me that he had a horrible dish here and he sent it back,. the excuse given was problems with the peanut supplier. I pretty much wanted to, and should have left then. The staff were pleasant but a bit«Tim Horton’s» for me… and very hard to hear over the noise in the kitchen. They weren’t as well trained as they should be either. I ordered the Blackbean and Garlic. For that and a drink, and 2 small spring rolls,. $ 20. Lets pause and assume that what we got was good,. $ 20 in asian restaurants in Vancouver usually gets you table service,. decent food, and 2 dishes. Also in the city of Vancouver is a plethora of asian eateries of ALL the ethnicities that noodle box tries to emulate: Chinese, Thai,. etc. When the food came,. it was big and visually almost gourmet looking, I’l give it that. The flavour was awful, but for some reason I choked half of it down and discovered there was almost no chicken in it, but plenty of the cleanser flavoured sauce, and tons of bean sprouts(which is ok I suppose). Stupidly I was a nice customer and decided to get it boxed up(why? I dont know,. I’m not going to eat it). The girl was nice and helped me do it and asked how it was,. I had to be honest: «It had flavour, but the flavour of the smell of windex», to which she replied«Oh, sorry, I’ll tell the chefs». First off, those aren’t chefs, they are cooks, second,. maybe thing of a better customer service response. The décor is standard fake upscale wood etc. and nice. It would look great for a better business that hopefully takes over next. It this city there is no reason to eat crap factory asian food of any variety, especially for inflated prices. Yes, this place is convenient,. and that is what chaps my hide, the fact is someone finishing their work day and getting off the bus doesn’t want to sit down and get a better meal,. they want to get home and get their food fast,. which is why this place will last longer than it should. I’m sure noodle box knows that only too well, they now have several around the city and are adding to the boringness virus. I’m sure they know exactly how to maximize profits because remember they are pushing product,… not food. They are a factory, not a restaurant. However, if they just got a real asian cook and tweaked the recipes,. that would fix the biggest problem. Since you are logged into Unilocal,.just search for the asian food variety of your choice for the area to find a better option. I know of 2 Chinese and 2 Thai within 2 blocks, and at least one Indian.

Well Mr. Noodle Bx one of these things isn’t like the other, and that is your Box of noodles. I was a regular at the Kits location a few yrs ago. Flavours are always tops, and it seems you need to choose your rice or noodles wisely as the rice soaks up the sauce and noodles have far more sauce. So my issue with my first visit here at Main st., I ordered Spicy Peanut Noodle box, and the extra charge of free range chicken came and it was disappointing as it was so very over cooked, it was like a piece of wood. Also the lack of nuts sigh. It’s always been the menu & label standard that the items listed first are the most prevalent items in the dish. It’s too bad that lack of peanuts combined with over cooked chicken left this customer dissatisfied. I will for sure give them another go, as I’m sure it was an oversight.

I stopped in for lunch last week on a busy day when I was running lots it errands and hadn’t had a chance to eat all day. So I was REALLY hungry. I still couldn’t eat my whole noodle bowl so I think the portion is generous. Next time when I’m not so starving I will order with a plan to bring half my order home in a to-go box for bonus next day lunch. I had the peanut noodle box with pulled pork. I got hotness level 2 in the recommendation of the friendly woman at the counter, but I should have maybe ordered level 3. On the other hand, the lower hotness level allowed room for sriracha and chili oil(lots of condiments available!) so maybe less hot was the way to go after all. They have both still and fizzy water free on tap at the back so help yourself. The free carbonated water was a really nice surprise. The service was great… Order at the counter and they bring your bowl out to you, and someone came by and asked how everything was too. The person who took my order even came by to ask how the hotness was and I said I should have got the three and she brought me all kinds if condiments to my table. It’s a bit noisy, but this isn’t a fine dining spot, it’s a get in, eat delicious noodles and get out and on with your day spot. Yes there are cheaper bowls of noodles around town, and no this won’t replace my little fave cash-only phở place, but they have nice option here and I’ll go back.

I dropped in to try this place again but ordered a different dish; spicy peanut box. It came with ribbon noodles which were more to my liking. I also toned down the spice to a medium and overall it was a pretty good lunch for the $ 13 price. As the owner responded to my first review, advising me that I could order any noodle type I wanted, I felt it fair to give the place another shot. That said the ribbon noodle that came with the spicy peanut box was the one listed on the menu so I didn’t have to do anything. However I could see no where in the restaurant or on the website, that says I can change the noodle type in the dish. As my first review was my first ever visit to this place, my ignorance should be forgiven.

They’re supposed to be open until 9:30 pm. It was open at 5 something. I go to get my best friend from work and walk down here and they were closed by 6:30 pm? Chairs up, no one in the shop. It was packed before then. So much for staying open until 9:30 pm daily. I really wanted to try you guys after teasing us of your opening for more than 4 months every time I walked by. You left my best friend and I noodle-less.
