Sharukh, the manager is the most amazing human being you can find. He’s gracious and definitely knows the shesha flavors. Must visit.

This is one of those places that from the outside looks like not very much. We ended up going here twice during our long weekend in Vancouver as it was so good. Its very relaxing and laid back. Also super welcoming. The lady there very friendly and courteous. They have a wide range of flavors. I’ve tried 3 so far so I couldn’t really comment as to which is the best but my favorite out of those is the apple rosemint. I might even go back tonight its so relaxing. The price is not bad. My husband and I usually share on and that costs $ 23.

I LOVE Persian Teahouse!!! Its a great spot after a night of drinking on Davie! Every time I visit, I am always greeted with a warm hello accompanied by a glass of tea. You can order as much tea as you’d like-I typically end up having about 5 glasses in a night! The space is small/cozy so you will be forced to befriend the people around you-everyone who smokes hookah is cool though so no worries there: p I have never had to wait for a seat but I guess it all depends on what day and time you go. I’m usually there on a weekend between midnight and 2am. For the most part, they play old music which can sometimes be a snooze if you’re paying attention. Last time I was there though, they switched it up and played upbeat music!!! The apple mint and berry flavors are very good! If you want to try your neighbors, you can just switch tips! The staff-usually just one or 2 per night — are very friendly and will keep me coming back! The place is not the cleanest but its not gross. Enjoy!!!

Has been there a couple of times and been loving this teahouse with its awesome owner Mr. Hamid who’s a genuinely friendly person. I’ve been smoking shisha from Middle East to Nepal and from Nepal to Vancouver and I think Persian teahouse offers one the finest hookas ever. Apart from their high end shisha and tea I particularly love its atmosphere which reminds me home. I’d strongly suggest trying that teahouse if you’re interested in shisha!

This place was okay the first few times but the most recent time I went with two other friends they overcharged us for no reason. Adding that to the fact that it’s not the nicest place and they don’t even accept interact or VISA, it was the last time we’ll go.

I came here for the first time a couple of nights ago. I found the owner to be very friendly, charming, and welcoming. The shisha and tea were great and the décor was really kitschy and unique. We went on a Tuesday and had the place to ourselves the majority of the time we were there which was cool. When another group came in the woman working there put the music on really loud, and when we told her we were having a difficult time hearing one another she was very accommodating and turned it down right away. I would totally come back here.

I agree with the other reviews. Be very cautious about going here. They will make you feel like you have overstayed your welcome. Unless you like being argued at by the owner… Go somewhere else.

I love that the Persian Teahouse is close to Granville it makes it super convenient to get to and to do some hookah before a night out. The guy that works there is super nice and location is pretty cozy. One thing to keep in mind is its a first come first serve, so if you plan on coming on a Friday or Saturday night expect to wait a bit.

Only if I could write a review with no stars. This place it just pathetic, and only exists because there are no other options. First the ridicules policy, one hookah for 2 persons, which is enforced even if you don’t smoke. They will simply ask to leave or pay extra, even when the place is empty. Ok, so if the hookah is for 2 persons why doesn’t it have 2 pipelines then, even though most of them can have them. The whole establishment is shoddy and crappy. The music is loud and the choice is poor. They won’t give you the best seats because they are apparently reserved for friends. We had to sit by the door, which also needed to be fixed. Every time someone opens the door, it won’t fully close and a chilly breeze would start coming in. I have to close it myself every time someone came in and went out. The service was terrible, once he brought the hookah he didn’t even bother checking them. Or checking if the ones who are not smoking need some more tea. And speaking of tea I’m sure you are not supposed to use your hands to pick if sugar cube, but usual they don’t care about that as it’s not like you can take your business elsewhere.

What’s the point? If it’s herbal stuff, doesn’t taste or feel like the real thing, why would I want to spend so much money to sit there and have a completely fake experience? There’s nothing enjoyable, relaxing, authentic, or even pleasant about this experience. I’ve smoked hookah all over the world, and I’ve paid far less money for it. I’d rather stick to my own hookah at home then ever pay the fees here again. I get it, there are laws restricting them from having real tobacco. But there should also be laws against having a dingy establishment where your apathetic staff provide unfriendly service and charge $ 20+ minimum per table(just 2) on a fake hookah. If your business is built upon selling tobacco, and you can no longer do it, then don’t. Terrible. Awful. Will never set foot in here again.

A few years ago, stopped in here when walking on Davie with the missus. We felt like having some tea, and this looked like the right place for it. The owner(presumably) rudely informed us that he could not sell us just tea, but that we had to get a hookah. He claimed it was a local bylaw that he could only sell us tea if it came with a pipe. Somehow, I strongly doubt there is such a law! The place was totally empty except for the owner, so it’s not like us drinking tea for a few minutes would have taken up valuable smoking space. We left, never to come back. I now work near there, and am surprised to see it is still in business(maybe the attitude has changed, but other reviews seem to indicate it has not).

It looks nice from the outside, but once in, they really act like sharks and want your money. We were 5 friends and they wanted us to get 3 hookah. It was ridiculous and we asked to get only 2… we would have been enough with 1 but they didn’t want. They charge for tea even if you don’t want any. I would avoid.

The shisha was ok but it didn’t really taste like mango. It’s a cozy little place and the owner is a pretty cool Dude(yes capital D with his walking around barefoot and reading his muiti-lingual newspaper). It is quite pricy though: $ 21 for two people, one hookah, one coal and some tea which I think we were charged for. I think they have equipment for sale too. Overall, it was a good shisha experience but the price will make me think twice about going back.

Walking along the streets of downtown Vancouver I notice this little jem. Entering this exotic paradise almost makes you feel as if you have left downtown Vancouver. Upon immediately entering, you notice that the small smoke filled room is anything but ordinary. The tiny seating space is similar to a small Persian living room, the little sofas are covered with Persian rugs and the walls are filled with large Persian style paintings depicting the ancient history of great kingdom. The tables are filled with several Hookahs, and tea appears to be endless. One thing that dominates the landscape is the old Iranian flag(Pahlavi dynasty), clearly the tea house wants to make a political statement. The environment alone is worth giving this teahouse a visit. It truly feels as if you have left the west and entered have stepped into a shop in Terhan. The teahouse’s offerings are scares; the only items that appear on the menu are Hookah flavors and one type of tea. This simplicity is a clear statement that the shop is trying to be nothing more than a true«teahouse,» thus you can imagine that patrons specifically come to the shop for Hookah. So it must be good, right? Unfortunately the 10 flavors and the moderate quality of Sisha do not make this an ideal location if you are seeking top Hookah smoking experience. Fortunately the friendly staff, the real mellow environment, endless refills of tea(tea is free) help mitigate the fact that you have to pay $ 15 bucks a pop for some mediocre Sisha. The shop is definitely a visit if you prefer the environment verus the product. This is perhaps one of the best Hookah smoking environments that I have ever seen, however the limited quality and quantity holds the shop back from being anything magnificent.

Agree with Luisa. Our group of five was told that the more comfortable seating area was«Reserved» at 8:30 p.m. on a Sunday evening… interesting. Five of us entered but only two wanted to do hookahs… the rest were open to tea and checking out if they had any dessert items. But the hookah rules are if five people sit down, you are obligated to have two hookahs no matter what. At that point, I was ready to leave the joint. It doesn’t feel good for me to give money to people that are annoyed with my presence so I wanted to do my part to help the situation and I left.

Considering smoking regulations, which are strictly enforced in Vancouver, it’s surprising that Hookah Bars have managed to stay in existence. Intrigued, I wandered in one Friday night with a couple of friends. The bright fluorescent lighting did little for the atmosphere but we were not deterred. After sitting at one of the larger tables up front upon the insistence of one of the other patrons, who turned out to be the nephew of the owner, we were quickly ushered to a smaller back table to make room for a larger party who might potentially come at a later time. The owner quickly informed us that given the number of people in our party(three) we had to order at least two $ 15 hookahs(there’s a two person cap per hookah). Despite the curt service and overpriced hookah, we remained. The shisha was fine(we ordered apricot and some kind of special tea, mint concoction) but after thirty more minutes of that place, we had had enough. The patrons were rude and obnoxious, «Planet of the Apes» was playing loudly in the background and the owner did his best to make as feel as unwelcome as possible. Unlike the previous reviewer, I would hardly call it a relaxing time.

Due to smoking regulations, the Persian Tea House now has herbal-only hookah(aka shisha), but it’s still an altogether pleasant buzz. We go there quite often, even though we have a pipe at home, because it’s such a good atmosphere in this tiny shop. As well, they sell the herbal tobacco(I’m not sure what you call it), pipes, charcoal pucks, and other accessories. The owner, an older Iranian gentleman, is usually in residence, along with who I think are his daughters. He’s very nice, but he definitely keeps a lid on things, as far as any potential rowdies coming down from the nightclubs on Granville go. So you never have to worry that idiots will ruin your fun in here. It’s about $ 20 for each pipe in whatever flavour you like, and each two persons must buy at least one pipe. The price includes near-endless cups of tea, served in cute glass cups, while you sit ‘n’ smoke. Enjoy relaxing times… make it a Persian tea house time.
