Great Phở to warm you up on a cold afternoon or evening. I’m making this my go to Asian comfort food stop in Vancouver!

This place is mediocre at best. I would have given them 2.5 stars if that was an option. It’s nice they have veggie phở, but it doesn’t seem too fresh. Service is pretty slow and servers are unaware of what is going on. I would only go back based on location, but would WAY prefer Chau Veggie Express on Victoria.

This place is the only phở place I know that charges outrageous prices. Their large phở noodle is over $ 10 and other places is able $ 7.95. Is connected to a tea place and again the process are outrageous as well. A small drink is $ 4 but it’s really small. No kidding. Noodle is good but I am not full from their large. And at other phở places that charges $ 7.95 for a large I am super full. This place is over charging and is expensive. But again this place has a better trendy décor compared to most Vietnamese restaurant. Not coming back due to its pricing.

I just picked up a soup today for lunch. Who was the idiot who came out with an idea to put take out soup(Hot liquid) in a paper bowl??? The plastic bowl was bad enough because this company is so cheap they don’t want to pay for a Styrofoam. The sup ended up in the bag and in my 2 weeks new car sit. Whoever invented this stupid idea should be charged for cleaning. I used to go this place all the time, but now I will think twice before I even tell any one to go there. I give to this place minus 5 stars.

There are a limited amount of choices near my apartment, yet I still don’t find myself visiting Phở Hoa regularly. The service was a little slow, but friendly when I went there. The main problem was the food. It was bland. Nothing special. There are a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver and this one does nothing to stand out. Meh s’aight/10.

HUNGERMAN likes soup to! Good service, quality was good and price was reasonable. We were close by so stopped in and left happy.

I don’t mean to be harsh, but this is the worst Phở I have ever had. Compared to the Phở on west 41st or on broadway, its not very good at all. The service wasn’t good, the staff were a bit rude to my friend and I. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I occasionally go to Phở Hoa for lunch because like many people working in the neighborhood, our lunch choices are quite limited. While the phở soup leaves something to be desired, I will say their service is always prompt and friendly. This way be because it is always nearly empty. Tables and booths are frequently not wiped down properly so I find myself searching for a clean seat. The three sizes they offer in phở is convenient since I do like getting additions to my meal(spring rolls, salad rolls) and this gives me the flexibility to do that and the price is right. The broth is pretty standard, although sometimes overly salty. There have been times with the cilantro or some item in the stock has made the broth taste soapy. I tried the Lemon Grass Pork Bahn Mi recently and was not impressed. While the bun and veggies were fresh, the pork tasted old and it was over seasoned.

Always fresh, always the same. The service is good and friendly, hardly never made a mistake and the waiting time is very reasonable. The lemongrass pork sandwich is the bomb!

Had been once before and had a good experience, order was correct and good service, this time ordered the same thing and got something completely different… I asked if I could have it corrected and was told that’s what I had ordered… some back and forth and lots confusion on the servers end and I finally get my order still not anything close to what i had the first time, not sure if they have changed management or menu but my order was pretty simple… don’t bother if you are expecting decent service and good phở… so close to my house wish it could have been my go to place Ordered chicken veg phở large bowl Received a small chicken phở with just noodles no veg at all Tasted quite different as well

I have never had a bad experience at this phở restaurant. The service is very good and I am never disappointed with my meal. The noodle soup and veggie salad rolls are my go to choices. The restaurant is also very new and clean which I find is rare with most phở restaurants.

Very average Phở and more expensive than any other Phở restaurant I’ve been to in Vancouver. A small is more expensive than a large in other locations… must be the South Granville rent. Dominant flavour is onion.

I really like this place. The service is very good and the food is as well. I like how they list the calories of all the dishes. I do think they could add a little something to the broth in the phở to make it a little less bland. It could be that’s the way they keep it so healthy, although there are other ways to add flavour rather than sugar, fat and msg. I go back time and again and will continue to do so.

I live just a stroll away and very pleased to see this franchise in the community. A very healthy alternative for quick lunches. This particular Phở Hoa is very clean and modern with lots of seating. The service is great. I have noticed their broth isn’t as salty, which is good for me. I asked why their broth wasn’t so salty and was informed that they make their broth fresh every day and many other Vietnamese restaurants don’t and therefore the broth ends up being salty. Phở Hoa is one of my favorite places for lunch.

Maybe a bit harsh, but compared to the real, authentic, non-franchise phở places in East Van, this Phở won’t cut it. It can actually do well here, since not much, esp. with the one that closed down several months ago by Granville/Broadway, beside the Royal Bank. Nice décor, actually a nice Indian resto went out of business. almost over kill for a phở place lol.

Don’t go here unless you are OK with crappy and disinterested service. Three of us ate there on a Thursday night. The place was about 1⁄3 full with everyone being already served. Took a while to come by and take our order. Then one of us received their meals about 20 minutes after our order. The other two waited another 10 minutes. Despite the fact we heard the chef ring the bell three times before pick up. Not sure why they didn’t get our food? By this time, there were three tables left. The food was mediocre and now warm instead of hot. Not impressed. We were impressed with the calories of each dish on the menu. We won’t be back despite the fact it is in a good location to do well.

Tried this place out for lunch and wasn’t disappointed… service was friendly and efficient, beef phở was tasty with tender meat and came with ample basil, bean sprouts and lime… so maybe they have checked out their Unilocal reviews and changed their ways! The spring rolls were fresh and not too oily. Great to have a local phở place that seems pretty decent!

I’m not sure how Phở Hoa is going to survive in this spot, considering they serve cheap soup on one of the most expensive shopping streets in Vancouver. I remember eating at Chow in this same spot a few years ago. Chow was popular, they charged between $ 17-$ 25 per entrée, and they served alcohol. Phở Hoa has not been busy the two times I have eaten there, they charge $ 8 for most items, and they do not have a liquor license. In terms of the quality of the phở, it is average. As one of the other reviewers here stated, they are pretty stingy with the bean sprouts and basil, but their noodles and raw beef are satisfying. To Phở Hoa’s credit, it is really nice having an affordable option along South Granville.

I had seen this chain in my travels but never tried one before, so last(blustery) night driving home and craving phở I stopped to get my takeout fix. This is a medium sized clean restaurant with modern/minimal décor, it would be a good place for a catch up visit or quick lunch. It is located on the south side of the South Granville strip and stays open until 11 pm. The staff were adequate. I was impressed by the calorie counter on the menu, wish more places would do this. They have regular and large sizes available, it was about $ 9 including tax for a regular size(overpriced for what I received). The Chicken phở had a few tiny pieces of beef in it and only a small amount of bean sprouts and basil. I liked the two included hot sauces. The broth was tasty, but salty for my liking. I was not impressed by the small amount of chicken, it also lacked flavour. The cilantro and onions were a nice addition. If I could give it 2 ½ I would… it’s not quite a 3 but it’s not a 2 either, it’s fast food phở with convenience prices. 30-Days of Unilocal 2012 — 2⁄31
