Right away the service was lacking. It’s a tiny place so we sat ourselves. Owner came to wipe the table but didn’t even bring menus for the longest time. He was also pretty rude just saying«yeah?» When he came to take our order. As for the food, we came for the spring rolls which didn’t disappoint! Those were soooooo tasty. We also had phở which was a complete disappointment. Their portions are a lot smaller than usual given they charge about the same price. They didn’t put a lot in the bowls, I ordered a small phở with rare beef and beef balls, I swear the amount of beef balls I got doesn’t even equal to one whole one if I were to buy them packaged. So overall, I wouldn’t expect much if you go there. If I were to go back, I’d only do take out.

Service was so bad! The server was super unfriendly and when I ordered the special Banh Mi he seemed disappointed(maybe because it was cheaper than theirs soups?) The taste of the Banh Mi was just OK and the pâté wasn’t spread properly at all and there was not enough pickled vegetables on it. Wouldn’t return because of the service. I can get a better Banh Mi downtown. Even though the price is pretty good.

Amazing #13 perfect bouncy chewy noodles with dark beefy broth. Salad roll was fresh and coffee was the best. Full bodied coffee. Total cost was $ 12.95. I am looking forward to go there again. Try there Bön bue hue. U know when it’s good the place was packed, and filled with veitnamese people. Sooo delicious, fresh and great price. Call to make sure they are open. :)

A humble little neighborhood restaurant just across from Superstore. They serve good phở with a strong beefy broth. Their special beef noodle and beef stew noodles are also better than most places around town that I have been to.

I was in a pinch shopping at Wal-Mart and Superstore close-by and needed a snack. I had a bowl of phở. Interesting dark colour and flavour to the soup. I think it is from extra star anise.

I moved into the area not too long ago and it was the closest Vietnamese restaurant to me so I thought I’d give it a try. My family didn’t feel like cooking so I ordered 5 bowls of phở for take-out. 3 of which were regular specials(dac biet) and 2 which were tendon, flank, tripe(gan, sach, chin.) Unfortunately, that’s all that the order will be — a try. I asked them to pack raw noodles so I could boil them at home and not have them soggy, so no issues there. The meat was lacking, close to non-existent. Tendon was a very small bite sized piece in my bowl, two thin strips of tripe and at most, three pieces of thit chin(meat.) The soup smelled absolutely delicious, so they have the aromatics of it down, however it could easily be mistaken for watered down broth the moment you swallow it. I heard their subs are good, so maybe one day if I’m not wanting to drive too far, I’ll pick one up and update my review but for the time being, unfortunately I’d have to recommend you go elsewhere for phở.

My favorite place for phở! The best in vancouver in my opinion. I come here all the time and the phở is delicious! They also have nammer subs which is a bonus. Spring rolls are good too. A little hole in the wall that ill continue to go to. #13 and a meatball sub cant go wrong.

I often have lunch here as it is close to work. Yes, it is cash only but it is also close to a bank, as well as public transportation. Love #5 small, the bun vermicelli with pork and spring roll, as well as their iced coffee — the owner brings it in from Vietnam in batches, it’s a blend of dark, medium and French roast coffees and it is served with condensed sweetened milk. Yum! Perfect for a midday pick me up.

This little hole in the wall serves the best phở in Vancouver. Because of their soup and noodles. Bar none.

This is my favourite phở restaurant. The service is usually pretty fast though not always the friendliest. Overall the restaurant is pretty clean. The dishes are portioned well and always served hot and with fresh ingredients.

I love this place but warning they are cash only.(But there’s a BMO just a couple doors down) and note that they generally close by 8pm. This is my fourth or fifth time having food here including takeout. Every single time to date the food has been amazing and tasty. Being a bit of a hole in the wall and not English as a first language it’s a surprisingly reliable feel-good place. Today I am having #35 shredded pork and deep fried spring rolls on vermicelli with assorted veggie $ 7.95, hot tea and a #96 Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk with ice to use with it once it’s done brewing. The last time I came it was just after I moved Nov 1⁄13 so I walked my small dog here(one way took 30 minutes) it was worth it. I ordered a salad roll to eat on the go(which amazed them) and a similar to today soup. Even the options without broth are great although I wish they would use a lime wedge over lemon-it’s still delectable.

Solid 3.5 stars, great one to go to if you’re shopping by Superstore nearby and not wanting to fight traffic to Kingsway for more of the Viet action of phở’s there. One of the better value places out there; won’t knock ya off your feet w/its décor and all, but fast and consistent. Corner location with lots of parking front and side streets. amazingly, yet to try the iced coffee. open 7 days but close a bit tad early, 8pm.

Small cozy place for phở and other vietnamese food. I had the seafood phở and the broth was very flavourful! My boyfriend and I both finished our phở. :) ill be back for more food!

This little hole in the wall has never failed in delivering a flavorful and consistently delicious bowl of phở. I usually get the Bun Bo Hue as I like thicker noodles and spicy broth, but I’ve tried the regular Phở Dac Biet, rice dishes, etc. and have yet to be disappointed. There’s better places for Bahn Mi/Viet subs, but I don’t think it’s really their specialty. The owner is pretty friendly, usually decked out in some form of designer jeans and dishes come out quick. For some good phở in Burnaby it’s a toss up between here and Phở Hong; this place definitely deserves more than 3 stars.

I just started a new job around here and don’t know the hood well. Decided to Unilocal a lunch location today and found decent reviews for this place. Fellow Unilocalers were right — this IS a teeny little place. Only a handful of tables. Luckily it wasn’t that busy and I was able to get a seat right by the front window. I ordered #15(small) — rare beef and beef balls. The bowl arrived in front of me literally 3 minutes later. I found the broth pretty good, but maybe just a bit too sweet(next time I will skip the added hoisin sauce). The noodles were nice and tender. The beef balls were the right amount of crunch. Hey, for $ 5.25, you really can’t complain too much. If I didn’t work within walking distance, I probably wouldn’t come here, but I now have a place to satisfy a phở craving during the work week. Plus it’s easy on the wallet(cash only). I WILL order a Large next time though. The small is pretty tiny, even for a woman’s appetite. NOTE: They had a vacation closure notice up when I was there. They will be closed January 30 to March 10, 2013, reopening March 11.

Great hole in the wall phở place. This is the kind of place where the owners get to know your name and order and will start to make it for you as soon as you walk in the door, if you come often enough. It takes about 5 minutes for your soup to be ready — super prompt service! Sure, it’s dingy, and small, but it’s quick cheap phở. What more do you need? Cash only. 4⁄30

I hated the Phở, but the Bahn Mi is pretty good. The Phở Ga soup looked all yellow, and it also tasted like Top Ramen. The noodles were fine, but I couldn’t finish it. The sandwiches were better. I like the meatball one the best. They have a few cooks in the back, and one lady as the cashier/waitress. Not once was she friendly. After I went to get take-out sandwiches a few times, she told me to call head of time, probably to make clear that I was in the way waiting around. I haven’t been back since, because it was a «hey, we’re driving by; let’s get some sandwiches» kind of place. For us, it’s not quite worthy of being a planned-ahead destination.

The hubby and I were at Superstore feeling hungry and cranky. Hungry + Angry = Hangry! I checked my Unilocal App to find Phở somewhere nearby and this place popped up. It’s a small hole in the wall. A couple of the small tables seemed so cramped I think I would have felt claustrophobic so we sat at a four-top. The soup and spring rolls were A-OK. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here as I’m pretty spoiled close to home. The service was prompt and the prices were reasonable. I’d go back if I was in the hood and HANGRY again.

Awesome hole in the wall/dive Vietnamese Phở House. This place is super small, really cramped and the décor is absolutely horrid. In this case though, all of that stuff is negated by the awesome food and really good prices! Really, you only go here for the great food and good service, everything else is inconsequential for the tasty grub you get. I usually go for the Phở or soups, but I hear their sandwiches are awesome too. I’ll have to try one the next time I come here. Out of all the Vietnamese Phở places I’ve been too, this place by far has the best soup base for their Phở noodles. It’s tasty, savory, authentic and fresh. They add a lot of cilantro as well, which I absolutely love in almost anything. Today I ordered the small no. 1 beef house special with rice noodles. It came with a mix of different cuts of beef, beef balls, and various other things that most westerners wouldn’t dream of eating like tendons, tripe(stomach lining/intestines) and other various deliciousness. I usually get a spring role as well, but I’m trying to cut down on how much food I consume per day, which in the past was an extraordinary amount and probably still is today. To go with my Phở, I ordered a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, just the thing to pick you up!(Who needs coffee???). I will for sure eat here often, when I’m in the mood for some hole in the wall, cheap, awesomely good phở! St3Fin
