Very spacious coffee shop. Strong wifi for me to work on my zine, decent London Fog. Customer service was okay… a smile wouldn’t hurt.

Just walking south Granville and we found this place, she had the coconut latte and was good a bit sweet, then I had a macchiato and was really good coffee!

Not a chain coffee shop, but a place where you can order real food! Prompt service and a great selection of sandwiches, soups, desserts etc.

There are so many big franchise coffee shops in the area but Phoscao is the best one in the neighbourhood where all the locals come. Friendly service, great affordable drinks and nice eats.

Lucky for me this place was opened at 7am or it would have started off a terrible day without my coffee. I tried the dark roast house and it was fairly decent. The 20oz are«only to go» but that suited me just fine. And they do have telus wifi now. So much better for someone who needs their social media fix. And there Rail town coffee blend is really good and smooth.

Found this quaint little café on a rainy day in the heart of Granville street. Welcoming atmosphere and owners were super friendly. As we were on a hurry, I grabbed a lemon poppy seed muffin and a caramel macchiato to go. Goodness gracious, that muffin was so was so delicious! I couldn’t believe what I was eating. My drink was really good as well. This will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I’m in town and will probably buy as many lemon poppyseed muffins they have to take home.

Delicious soy and vanilla lattes in this cute and quiant café. Staff were quick to get our drinks out and were incredibly friendly. Colorful café inside with unique artworks all around. Scrumptious grilled cheese sandwich, muffins, and turkey paninis. Sweet place to grab something to go, study, or chill with friends.

I’ve been to this spot a few times, and I’ll say that they’ve got a good cappuccino. However, don’t order a breakfast sandwich if you’re in a hurry– it took them 10 minutes to make it! Not to mention, the bacon was the thin, microwave kind and the sandwich was overpriced for what I got. I’ve also had their«gooey cinnamon bun» that they advertise, which wasn’t fresh or gooey at all :( Summary: food is bad but drinks are great.

Phoscao is a pleasant little escape from the bustle of Granville St. Although I have only had drip coffee and lattes here, I continue to come back due to the quiet, clean and untrendy atmosphere here. I try to stay away from the big chains as much as possible to support the mom an pop cafés. Support the little people! The coffee is quite good too.

This is a nice little hidden gem. Their coffee is really good, the service is amazing and they have 4 sizes of coffee cups which is awesome cause I always want a size smaller than medium and a tiny bit bigger than small. Also the décor reminds me of Europe. Me likey!

This place is an adorable café. It’s hidden in plain view on Granville street — with no obvious signage you could probably blink and miss it — but you shouldnt. don’t blink. At all. Just in case. It feels like a little piece of Europe in the middle of busy Granville, with beautiful wood floors, and tree-trunk wood tables. So beautiful. They had some great coffees and pies, and I really wished there had been some adorable frenchman behind the counter. The only thing they were missing though was free WIFI.

Great spot! Nice quaint coffee shop with a rustic feel. Almost a bit hidden but the«Best coffee on Granville» sign on the slide door sold me. They have a great selection of teas.

You really can just walk by this non descript place with the automatic sliding entry door. Once to you walk in though you feel like you may have entered a Europe without the cost of flight. When you have a couple of the staple coffee shops near by it’s nice to step in here and have something a little bit different.

Deep dark wood right down to the«rooty» tables. If it were night time, and they served booze(which they don’t), I would consider sipping on absinthe here, absorbed in writing a novel or sharing secrets with foreign spies at one of the many unique seats. But hey, I’ll settle for JJ Bean iced americanos and a quiet, breezy space where mostly elderly couples shuffle in and linger a while. It feels so European! I see they also serve up an afogato which I’ll have to try for my next late afternoon caffeine fix!

This coffee shop is absolutely delightful. I love the ambiance, it feels like I am in my own living room with the fireplace and the beautiful wood counter. I am not a coffee drinker but their selection of drinks to choose from was enormous, as well as the selection of sandwiches, snacks, pies and other goodies. The owner makes her own ice tea with black tea and fresh lemons and I’ve never found homemade ice tea anywhere in this town. I go into the café several times a week and always want something a little different with my sandwich(she makes the BEST) and she always accommodates my idiosyncrasies with my choices. I can sit there for hours and just enjoy my food, read my paper or just sit and contemplate whatever is on my mind. The owners put a great deal of themselves into this café and it shows. I tell everyone I talk to in the South Granville area and at my office to go in and try the ice tea or the grilled cheese panini(my favourite) next to my almond hot chocolate. It’s not a cookie cutter coffee shop and that’s what I like about the best.

Great old world atmosphere and rich deep coffees, lovingly made by the owner. What more could you ask for? We popped in to this South Granville Café one day while shopping and weren’t disappointed. The owner was friendly and well informed and, when he made our capuccino, it was immediately evident that he took great care in making them. The foam was perfect and the beans were fresh without a hint of bitterness. Soup and sandwiches are also available and are also delicious. All in all, a perfect coffee shop for lunching or relaxing with a cup after a hectic shopping trip.

I grabbed a bag of beans from Phoscao last week and will def go back for more. Delish — no sugar needed — dark roast. Next time I’ll be sure to stay awhile and enjoy this charming little café.

On a strip with so many franchises, Phoscao Café is a nice little spot to get away from been-there-done-that coffee shops. The ambience is soothing, the coffee is good, and they’ll also serve you a soup, a sandwich or a snack to go with your coffee and newspaper. Unhurried and relaxed, this is a great local spot to linger a little while.
