Should update this because this place doesn’t exist anymore. Closed down 3 years ago if not more, I live in the neighborhood, just to let you know.

* Ownership change * I hadn’t been to this formerly Polish café in several years. But I was nearby and thought I’d pop in for some pieroge. I think the owners changed. The menu seems to have changed, with a lot of all-day breakfast items and sandwiches typical of any small café/diner. No Polish speaking staff or customers in sight. But I searched through the menu and found they still have pieroge with a side sausage combo and figured I’d give it a go. The pieroge themselves were pan-fried with onions and a bit of bacon. They were served with a side of sour cream. The pieroge had a thicker skin than I remember. They were ok, but nothing too amazing. The sour cream had been covered in a «flavour powder» for lack of a better way to describe it. It looked kind of like powdered salad dressing. Do you know the type? This would be consistent with the side of salad dressing that came with the salad — which was that instant Italian type(probably same mix?). The salad itself was fresh with a nice variety of items including dried cranberries. The sausage had been grilled and then slathered in BBQ sauce and mustard. I don’t know why they did that without asking. The sausage itself was decent, but I could have done without the BBQ sauce/mustard mix on top. All-in-all it ain’t what it used to be. The reliance on powdered seasoning for the sour cream, instant salad dressing, and the gloop on the sausage just makes me feel it isn’t the same as it used to be when it had nice solid Polish food. Oh well…
