Ahoy mate! Okay, so that might be a little cheesy and inaccurate as I don’t truly know how a sailor(from this day in age…) should speak, but its a decent opener for a review about an all-things-boating and seaward store. That being said, Quarterdeck carries much more than books. They have an extensive collection of seafaring reference and marine books, maps, nautical charts and the like. There are plenty of bits and bobs to accompany your boating trip, such as high quality(and high priced) French knit sweaters. There are beautiful and technically correct ship models as well as kits for building a ship in a jar, that mysterious process that certainly requires a serious amount of patience and a steady hand. Clearly, patience and a steady hand are essential in boating of any kind. There are plenty of other gift items, including hurricane candles embedded with seashells, Captain’s hats, blown glass balls and plenty of top-quality jackets and outdoor wear.

Quarterdeck carries all sorts of maritime items from clocks to clothes to nautical charts and books. Their website boasts that«you will find the most extensive collection of marine yarns and marine reference and technical books to be found under one roof anywhere in Canada.» But Quarterdeck doesn’t take themselves too seriously as they also have some fun pirate items. If you or someone you know loves ships, you’ll want to check this shop out.
