I had a set of nails done here and I was so impressed! My natural nails were in rough shape. I felt bad, but Steph took on the challenge with no problems at all. Steph did a acrylic sculpture set for me. She only sculpts… does not use tips. Any style you want! Check out their Instagram page for pervious work @hausoflacquer . The price point is $$$ but the results are worth it!

Queens is founded and led by Rose Raflores, a young woman who wants to provide an alternative perspective to independent culture through fashion. Influenced by urban lifestyle rooted in music, fashion, art, and good people, Queens specializes in its own private label line, one-of-a-kind tees. They also offer incomparable nail art for those wo desire a creative, unique paint job. I was recommended this place by a girl at the gym I go to whose had nail art by her. She did my nail art last year for a concert. It was $$$, however, the design was amazingly cool gothic meets alternative. I do have a picture of it that I will upload later. Awesome concert. Art is amazing.

It’s basically a female barbershop, where else in Vancouver can you find this? You can get your nails done, buy a dope shirt, some crazy accessories… all while listening to good music or even while watching every female’s guilty pleasure, Keeping up with the Kardashians. Overall, I love this spot!

Srsly, how adorable can one place be? Not what I expected to find in the midst of the cool cobblestone and historic architecture of Gastown, but there it is: urban, hip hop culture manifested in a 300-square-foot nail salon /street-boutique that fills a Vancouver void I didn’t even know existed. Adorned with turntables, low-rider bikes and a wall plastered with various and rad magazine pages, Queens Vancouver is what my pop-culture-loving mind imagines a salon in Queens-proper to feel like. It’s a spot for women to chill out, shoot the shit, shop for clothes, buy some jewels, and of course, get their nails did(haaaay). Time, unfortunately, was not on my side on this particular visit, but next time, next will be the time that I walk out of Queens with long, bedazzled, bejewelled, bright, bold pincers. Now where my girls at?
