Nothing terribly exciting about this place. Meat is under-seasoned but the rest of the food is ok. Pricing is pretty typical for a burrito, but if I’m paying $ 9 at Red Burrito when I can get a tastier burrito somewhere else at the same price, I’m heading elsewhere.

A great place if you want something quick and cheap on the go. Giant, fat burritos in a foil wrap that make them convenient to take anywhere. The staff are friendly and fast.

Very friendly service. Huge portions. Good variety of food. Not the best food I’ve ever ate, but it’s expected from a fast food. It’s good if you want something quick and cheap to eat.

Mediocre burrito, friendly staff. Only one size of burrito available. There were two chicken options, one beef, shrimp and vegetarian but no pork. Cheese was extra and it was the dusty– from the store bought bag type of cheese. Guac was also extra. Overpriced for what it is, you can find a better burrito at whole foods in kits or chipotle on Robson.

Authentic Mexican feel, fresh ingredients, super tasty, great value. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for a bangin’ burrito!

My wife and I have highly positive memories about this café. At the end of a work week, one of us will drive, bike, or walk over for take out. I’ll have the chicken and she’ll have the vegan(vegetarian, no dairy). The options are straightforward. The staff is friendly. Exactly what we like in a takeout Mexican café.

Fresh, fast, simple flavours, many dietary choices to suit all tastes. Great service, good value AND free parking out back. I’ll be back again!

Overall a pretty bland and tasteless burrito that is essentially only the mere sum of it’s parts. You’ll taste the lettuce, the chicken, the salsa, the rice and the beans(not the cheese though… That costs even more on top of their absurd prices). Shout out to them for accepting US cash though. Would not recommend.

Tough Unilocalers, probably the best value eatery along the Drive, without any being pretentious. Think this is the original location. For under $ 8, you can get big, fat serving chicken burrito, probably not as hip as Chiptotle but got a few more bucks in your pocket too. typical add your own toppings. I take this over Subway any day. Great corner location at this crazy intersection right on Commercial/1st. Still think their Davie and Robson has more ambience. Good bar seating at front for window action walking by ;) Extra star b/c they delivery/cater. typical dreaded parking here but there’s a side street by Waves Coffee that has 1 hour free.

The vegetarian burrito is a stand-by for me when I’m running late and not prepared to eat at home. It’s good, affordable, and does the job.

I wasn’t expecting much and it was pretty awful. Had the chicken tamale and it was horrible. Beans and rice that came with it were inedible. Daughter had the chicken quesadilla for a whopping $ 9.75. She could only eat one slice because it was so greasy. Only decent thing was the Horchata. Never again. Can’t understand why this place is busy.

Sorry… NOTFORME! Had a veggie burrito the other day. Tasteless and very soggy, which me thinks is due to the slop of wet dripping black beans they threw on the burrito. Could not believe they had no RE-FRIED beans! When asked, was told quite curtly by a woman that they were a true Mexican eatery.(confabbed with my Mexican friend later and he didn’t quite understand that one as he lived in Mexico for 32 years and re-fried beans were everywhere!) Also had an order of chips and salsa. I have bought better chips in a bag at the grocery store. Salsa was VERY watery. No spice/herb flavor at all. Not impressed at all. The meal was very pricey for burrito and chips. I was expecting pazazzzz… eureka…I found a great Mexican place on the Drive. …sadly… NOT.
The burrito’s(& refried beans!!) are much much better at Taco del Mar!(.and that is not saying much…).

I can understand why this place gets the low ratings that it does, however, considering that it is Saturday night and finding any place reasonable on the Drive to eat and talk your best friend without having music blaring in the background and or annoying drunk people around you(plus a 30 — 45 minute wait), this was the only place. It was very quiet and for good reason. It’s not the best Mexican place in the city, however, it accomplished what it needed on a dime. My best friend and I shared a plate of spicy chicken(not that spicy) tacos, tortilla soup and some chips and salsa… none of which were high quality foods but we were filled with no issue.

Had a burrito bowl with the medium spicy pork. A quick and easy gluten-free, diary-free meal that is filling and satisfying flavour-wise. The price seemed a bit much. And how come no mexican restaraunt around here has refried beans? The mexican places I’ve been in the states have them and they are a-maz-ing. I don’t know what’s wrong with all these new places and there beans that are not refried. The service was friendly and it was tasty enough that I might go back if I get another mexican craving and I’m in that area. I would feel more conviction about going back if they refried their beans. haha

WORSTBURRITOEVER!!! I have to say that I have spent extended periods of time in california and had some of the BEST Mexican food around… This place. ISNOT! The Super Burrito I ordered was very soggy, flavorless and just not good! Stay away if you value your taste buds.

Unfortunately, I was food poisoned here. I had dined here at least 50 times prior, and always had an enjoyable burrito, but the time I decided to bring the rest of my co-workers down, 7 of us were poisoned by what we believe to be the chicken. After a rough 24hr ride, I will not be going back again. The manager was not sympathetic, but he unwillingly returned our money. There was no apology what-so-ever. I wonder how many customers were sick that day?

I’d liken this place to the Mexican equivalent of Subway. You go in, choose what type of burrito you’d like, then choose what other stuff you’d like thrown into it. The usual suspects are all there: beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole, cheese and salsa. Unfortunately, just like Subway, you’re not getting a quality product, you are getting something fresh that has been thrown together quickly. It’s fast food, so has all the pros and cons of any other fast food place. The major con being that the burrito, while fresh, is still pretty bland, and likewise the atmosphere is the same. People are there to get a quick meal and keep hunger at bay, not to have a dining experience. Red Burrito does its job amicably — if you’re wanting a fresh burrito in a matter of minutes, you could probably do a lot worse. But if you’re wanting some good food, you could definitely do a lot better.

I really wish I could give this place more than five stars. I stopped in here before heading off to some bars along the drive a few days ago. Full disclosure: I was riding high on mdma when I went there and I’m not feeling too bad myself right now. ;) I got the beef burrito and it was amazing. The guacamole is incredible, I don’t know what they put in that stuff, but it might be some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was packed with flavour, even the limes tasted amazing. I think they might be locally sourced. It was a big burrito too! The water was nice and cold, but not so cold that it would freeze your gums if you drank a lot of it. I know that’s a small detail but what makes or breaks a restaurant is the small details. The service was great as far as order at the till restaurants go, the guy working there was smiling as much as I was! Especially after I told him how amazing a burrito maker he was. Definitely going to hit this place up again! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone else on mdma, see you there!

In the words of Teddy KGB, «I feel so unsatisfied». Better than Steamrollers flavour-wise(if you can consider Steamrollers ‘Mexican) — but that’s not saying much. Shows me to be lazy and want a quick meal to go(again, like KGB — «…like a young man coming in for a quickie.»). Grabbed a fully-loaded pork burrito for ~$ 7 after tax. Not a lot of meat, beans or rice added — but loaded with veggies. I’m not sure if this is a cost-saving measure or it’s popular with the usual, earthy type of people that hang out on the Drive. You know who I’m talking about… The burrito was big — it was more like a salad wrap than a burrito. It wasn’t cheap, good or filling — people that like this place seem to *LOVE* this place. Why?

I gave this 3 stars because, girl, it is what it is. I mean, you can’t go to this place expecting to find fine dining. What I do get out of this place is — FULL. It’s inexpensive, filling and fast. Sure, my burrito could have had more zip to it but to be honest, it’s tough to complain for the sheer size of the food you get. I’m telling you that burrito was the size of my head. A bit of an exaggeration but you get my point. It’s not bad. If you want Mexican food on the Drive or actually anywhere in the city, walk a little further down the block. Sit down and have a meal at Tio Pepe’s — now that’s 5 stars!
