Basic park with needs. Great for children and dogs. Good spot to have your dinner outside in the sun if you don’t want to be stuck inside in the eateries.

Oh Robson park, how I like thee. If you want somewhere nice to bring the kids, this is an okay place for that. If you want somewhere to bring your dog, to excrete its foulness upon the ground, go somewhere else. If you want to go somewhere to have a ‘park beer’, this is the place. If you wan to go somewhere to alternately throw and catch things with friends, this is the place. Very close to this park is great coffee and good food.

John Robson(14 March 1824 — 29 June 1892) was a Canadian journalist and politician, who served as the ninth Premier of the Province of British Columbia. He was premier of BC during Vancouver’s incorporation, so it’s no wonder they named one of the more famous street in Vancouver after him. 1.56 hectares of land on Kingsway has also been dedicated to him. Being a journalist he may have enjoyed the quiet oasis this park brings, seeing that the actual grass field is on the smaller scale and secluded from the busy street of Kingsway, it makes it a great spot to do some writing and/or reading. There may be a kickball game happening but most of the sports are regulated to the basketball, tennis, and ball hockey courts, which makes the field open for whatever. Also not a bad spot for late night make outs. I’m not confirming or denying my personal experience with that, but I’m just saying, it probably is.

Not too big, not too small, this park is juuuuuust right. Frequented by children and hipsters alike, this park is super inclusive. You may even be recruited from the street beside the park to come play kickball on a Monday night. Just say yes. You know you want to. Robson Park makes you act like a kid again, and that is okay.

Robson Park is on the small side, but it’s a lovely oasis right off of Kingsway. The park has a basketball court, tennis courts, a wading pool for the kiddies in the summer, a playground and a soccer field. The park also houses a community garden off of 13th Ave that is pretty. If you are hoping to be converted, Robson Park is a popular spot for the local Christian churches to hold recruitment events.
