I saw this reviewed on the front page of Unilocal on October 21, 2015 and decided to book mark this for future reference. One of the reviews mentioned Gluten Free and I was all in. I am a huge fan of the market/eatery concept. Just a heads up that they’re only open for limited hours between 11 — 5 pm, therefore, this is more of a lunch thing while downtown. This place is very small, therefore, sitting space is limited. I came in when it was in the afternoon. There are a lot of gluten free and vegan options to buy, some grocery. I had the veggie melt on GF bread. I appreciated how the GF bread didn’t crumble in my hands like in other establishments. You can have the option have having the cheese replaced with vegan cheese. I had the vegan«cheddar» Jalapeño soup. Holy shit this soup is super spicy. You get both the essence of the heat and the flavor. I had to down this in one shot to save myself. Seriously well executed. To finish it off I had the GF berry tart. Very healthy and reasonable 3 item lunch for just $ 12 which is a steal in the area. The guy working the til(sorry I forgot your name) was super chill and friendly.

Had a tasty #Gfree grilled sammi at smallflowercafe Just outside of #Gastown on the same block as LukesGeneral The space is bright, there are loads of gluten free items for sale and they have an agreement that you can bring a munch over to Luke’s if you’re also a customer. The baked goodies are irresistible, especially if you love cinnamon rolls. I wanted to try one of everything but refrained, because… well, skinny jeans. Stretchy pants next time! :D

The Vegan Veggie Melt is SO unbelievably delicious! I cannot stress enough how AMAZING it is. It’s the best vegan burger I’ve EVER had! All the flavours complement each other so nicely, and the staff are so kind, so that’s another plus. Please give The Smallflower a go! I promise they won’t disappoint.

Great little café/retail in the DTES. The sandwich I had was great! The menu is mostly vegan and all gluten-free. The retail is all vegan with lots of hard to find items. Only downside is that this establishment serves animals.
