Splash Bistro is the cafeteria-restaurant inside EdgeWater casino and they are known for their affordable daily specials such as $ 10 prime rib dinners on Sundays, $ 5 burger and fries on Thursday and such. We actually came here for their $ 10 promotional buffet last month but unfortunately there was no information given other than the price so we took the risk since our friend wanted to try gambling in Canada for the first time. When we arrived, we were quite confused because we saw no buffet, but only a cafeteria-like area with not much seating available. Later on, we found out that the«buffet» was outside on their patio, and the buffet… was not much of a buffet. There were basically only four items: Cream Penne with Beef, Vegetable Fusilli with cheese and grilled vegetables, garlic bread, and ceasar salad. Honestly, we came here because we were promised that we would get a casino chip token worth $ 5-$ 50 with every meal purchase per person so we didn’t expect much of the buffet in the first place. I feel that 2⁄5 is already being very generous because the food did not taste too great but the staff were very friendly so I have no complaints. The regular menu is a bit expensive though… There is a huge range of dishes here but a lot cater to the Chinese patrons of the casino. There are traditional Hong Kong dishes such as BBQ pork on rice and such but they’re very overpriced. They even have dim sum, fried rice, fried noodles and more but I cannot comment on them because I have not tried and probably will never try.
